Pascal to C/C++ converter more>> This is yet another Pascal to C/C++ converter. The primary idea of this converter is to produce readable and supportable code which preserves style of original code as far as possible.
Converter recognizes Pascal dialects which are compatible with Turbo Pascal 4.0/5.0 and ISO Pascal standard - IEC 7185:1990(E) (including conformant arrays). At this moment it was tested with Turbo Pascal, Oregon Pascal, Sun Pascal and HP Pascal.
Converter can produce both C++ and C output. Using of C++ language allows to encapsulate some Pascal types and constructions into C++ classes. So mapping between Pascal and C++ becomes more direct then between Pascal and C. I use C++ templates to implement Pascal arrays and files. Special template classes are used for conformant arrays. C++ like streams are used to implement Pascal IO routines. The same runtime library is used both for C and C++.
Now PtoC recognizes Turbo Pascals extensions, such as units, strings, some special types and operations. Turbo Pascal extensions are supported only for C++ language.
At this moment PtoC successfully converts more than 400,000 lines of Oregon Pascal to C (from RSX to OpenVMS). To test C++ translation and conversion of Turbo Pascal extensions I convert BGIDEMO.PAS and LISTER.PAS files from Turbo Pascal distribution and also convert some numeric programs written on Turbo Pascal by my friends. To check quality of conversion please look in file bgidemo.cxx which was produces from original Borland bgidemo.pas without any manual changes. Moreover it is possible to compile it, link with WinBGI library and run it under Windows or X-Windows.

dlib C++ Library is a modern C++ library with a focus on portability and program correctness. The library is open source software and is licensed under the Boost Software License.
Main features:
- Everything is Design by Contract all the time. This means there is complete and precise documentation for every class and function. There are also debugging modes that check the preconditions for functions. When this is enabled it will catch the vast majority of bugs caused by calling functions incorrectly or using objects in an incorrect manner.
- Abstraction layers on top of operating system APIs. Specifically: directory navigation, TCP sockets, threading and graphical user interfaces.
- Very portable
- All non ISO C++ code is located in the OS abstraction layers which are as small as possible (about 9% of the library). The rest of the objects in the library are either layered on top of the OS abstraction layer or are pure ISO C++.
- Big/little endian agnostic.
- No assumptions are made about structure byte packing.
- No other packages are required to use the library. Only APIs that are provided by an out of the box OS are used.
- Many container classes. What makes these containers different from what can be found in the STL is how they move objects into and out of themselves. Rather than copying things around everything is moved around by swapping. This allows you to do things like have containers of containers of containers. They also have simpler interfaces. Additionally:
- There are many versions of each container with different performance characteristics so you have great flexibility in choosing exactly what you want.
- Many of the containers perform all their allocations through the memory_manger object and unlike the STL there is no requirement that different instances of the memory manager/allocator be able to free objects allocated from each other. This allows for much more interesting memory manager implementations.
- All containers are serializable.
- A command line parser with the ability to parse and validate command lines with various types of arguments and options.
- Various abstracted objects representing parts of data compression algorithms. Many forms of the PPM algorithm are included.
- A big integer object
- A thread safe logger object styled after the popular Java logger log4j.
- All new threads are pulled from a dynamically sized thread pool. So calls to create_new_thread() are fast.
- A fast matrix object implemented using the expression templates technique.
- A modular testing framework.
- A simple HTTP server object you can use to embed a web server into your applications
Enhancements:
- This release primarily includes updates to the matrix object, which now supports runtime sizing in addition to its previous compile-time dimensioning capabilities.
- Some more helper functions have also been added and minor bugs were fixed.

C-Dogs SDL is a port of the old DOS arcade game C-Dogs to modern operating systems utilising the SDL Media Libraries. In theory C-Dogs SDL should be able to run on Windows, MacOS X, BeOS and the other systems supported by SDL.

Genererally, the more UNIX like a system is, the greater the chance of C-Dogs working (MacOS X and BeOS people, I mean you guys).

C-Dogs SDL was ported to SDL by Jeremy Chin and Lucas Martin-King, using Gentoo Linux as their development environment.

C-Dogs is an arcade shoot-em-up which lets players work alone and co-operativly during missions, and against each other in the "dogfight" deathmatch mode. The DOS version of C-Dogs came with several built in missions and dogfight maps, this version is no exception.

The author of the DOS version of C-Dogs was Ronny Wester. See the "official" homepage for more details. We would like to thank him for releasing the C-Dogs sources to the public.

SYNOPSIS

perl -MO=C[,OPTIONS] foo.pl

This compiler backend takes Perl source and generates C source code corresponding to the internal structures that perl uses to run your program. When the generated C source is compiled and run, it cuts out the time which perl would have taken to load and parse your program into its internal semi-compiled form. That means that compiling with this backend will not help improve the runtime execution speed of your program but may improve the start-up time. Depending on the environment in which your program runs this may be either a help or a hindrance.

OPTIONS

If there are any non-option arguments, they are taken to be names of objects to be saved (probably doesnt work properly yet). Without extra arguments, it saves the main program.

Output to filename instead of STDOUT

-v

Verbose compilation (currently gives a few compilation statistics).

Force end of options

-uPackname

Force apparently unused subs from package Packname to be compiled. This allows programs to use eval "foo()" even when sub foo is never seen to be used at compile time. The down side is that any subs which really are never used also have code generated. This option is necessary, for example, if you have a signal handler foo which you initialise with $SIG{BAR} = "foo". A better fix, though, is just to change it to $SIG{BAR} = &foo. You can have multiple -u options. The compiler tries to figure out which packages may possibly have subs in which need compiling but the current version doesnt do it very well. In particular, it is confused by nested packages (i.e. of the form A::B) where package A does not contain any subs.

-D

Debug options (concatenated or separate flags like perl -D).

-Do

OPs, prints each OP as its processed

-Dc

COPs, prints COPs as processed (incl. file & line num)

-DA

prints AV information on saving

-DC

prints CV information on saving

Some C compilers impose an arbitrary limit on the length of string constants (e.g. 2048 characters for Microsoft Visual C++). The -llimit options tells the C backend not to generate string literals exceeding that limit.

GNU Common C++ project is a C++ framework offering portable support for threading, sockets, file access, daemons, persistence, serial I/O, XML parsing, and system services, initially started by David Sugar and Daniel Silverstone.

GNU Common C++ is a GNU package and is licensed to the terms of the GNU GPL with specific privileges similar to Guile, which constitute privileges similar to the LGPL but more appropriate for a C++ class framework. GNU Common C++ offers support and portable classes for threading and sockets for both UNIX (Posix systems with "pthread" support) and the Windows "Win32" API.

GNU Common C++ uses extensive autoconf macro sets for automatic detection of various levels of "pthread compliance" in your target platform and attempts to adjust itself appropriately. GNU Common C++ has been tested from time to time with GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, and DEC Tru64 Unix. Recent work has also been done to help support HP/UX. While GNU Common C++ is not directly related to GNU portable threading (GNU Pth), it should work with the Pth "pthread emulation" library at present. Work is planned to make GNU Common C++ directly support GNU Pth.

The primary goal of GNU Common C++ is to promote a very low overhead abstract C++ interface to common system services. Consistent with this goal, and the desire for broad portability with wide compiler support, specific aspects and practices in C++ programming were selected when writing code in this package, and other practices were discarded that seemed to detract from this goal.

Now you have it, in this module.

C::Scan::Constants was born out of a recognition that ModPerl::CScan and ExtUtils::Constant provide a wealth of capabilities in the area of C code parsing and autogenerated XS access to C constants, but that the actual mechanisms for harnessing them to do those things were really rather opaque. This module should help take (most of) the mystery out of those activities.
