Network Configurator is a network configuration tool.
Network Configurator is user-level tool that aims to make network configuration more easy. It have command line and GTK+ interface.
Supported network types:

- Wi-Fi (no WEP and WPA for now)

/etc/net represents a new approach to Linux network configuration tasks. Inspired by the limitations of traditional configuration subsystems, /etc/net provides builtin support for configuration profiles, interface name management, removable device support, full iproute2 command set support, interface dependency resolution, and a QoS configuration framework.
/etc/net provides support for the following interface types: Ethernet, WiFi (WEP), IPv6/IPv6 tunnels, PSK IPSec tunnels, VLAN, PLIP, Ethernet bonding and bridging, traffic equalizer, Pent@NET, usbnet, and PPP. Due to its modular design, support for new interface types can be added without overall design changes.

My Network Catalog is an indexing engine that allows Windows shares (or Samba shares) to be bound together over a local network.

NACE is a generic query engine used to automatically create host and service definitions for hosts on the network.

It is intended to be used in a shell script at regular intervals by an experienced Nagios administrator to perform a query against the supplied host list. It then creates host and service definitions using the parameters supplied in the query.

Dpsyco is a automated system to distribute system configurations to several computers. It is written mainly for the Debian distribution but should be portable (without too much difficulties) to other distributions or Unixes as well.
It consists of a number of shell scripts to perform the desired actions. With it you can handle users, add ssh-public-keys, patch the system, update things using cfengine, install files (overriding other package files), and more.

Network Device Change Control (NDCC) is a system that monitors and records changes to the configurations of network equipment.

Network Device Change Control can store configuration snapshots for any text-based configs. It has been used to store configurations from Unix and Linux systems, Cisco routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls, Foundry, NetScreen, Juniper, NetScaler, and others.

It only took a while to realize that router changes should be tracked. I rewrote the system to give a current and once-back system of configurations. Since I was using diff, I decided to leave the diff information in the system. Those diffs were emailed to a group so everyone knew when something was changed, along with what was changed.

Some time later, a bank needed to track configuration files, and the system was upgraded for use within a database. The first implementation was using perl as a CGI script against a PostgreSQL database. The company wanted many changes made for their auditing needs and most of those changes enhanced NDCC. Upgrades to their environment moved things to PHP and MySQL, and the system was rewritten for that environment and the old perl code has since been lost.
