htop is an interactive process viewer for Linux.

htop project requires ncurses. Tested with Linux 2.4 and 2.6.

OpenSSH project is a FREE version of the SSH protocol suite of network connectivity tools that increasing numbers of people on the Internet are coming to rely on. Many users of telnet, rlogin, ftp, and other such programs might not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet unencrypted, but it is.

OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other network-level attacks. Additionally, OpenSSH provides a myriad of secure tunneling capabilities, as well as a variety of authentication methods.

The OpenSSH suite includes the ssh program which replaces rlogin and telnet, scp which replaces rcp, and sftp which replaces ftp. Also included is sshd which is the server side of the package, and the other basic utilities like ssh-add, ssh-agent, ssh-keysign, ssh-keyscan, ssh-keygen and sftp-server. AWStats is a free powerful and featureful tool that generates advanced web, ftp or mail server statistics, graphically. AWStats works as a CGI or from command line and shows you all possible information your log contains, in few graphical web pages.

It uses a partial information file to be able to process large log files, often and quickly. It can analyze log files from IIS (W3C log format), Apache log files (NCSA combined/XLF/ELF log format or common/CLF log format), WebStar and most of all web, proxy, wap, streaming servers, mail servers (and some ftp).

As AWStats works from the command line but also as a CGI, it can work with major web hosting provider that allows CGI and log access.

ethtool is a Linux net driver diagnostic and tuning tool for the Linux 2.4.x (or later) series of kernels. You can obtain information and diagnostics related to media, link status, driver version, PCI (or other) bus location, and more.

ImageMagickTM, version 6.2.2, is a free software suite for the creation, modification and display of bitmap images. ImageMagick can read, convert and write images in a large variety of formats.

Images can be cropped, colors can be changed, various effects can be applied, images can be rotated and combined, and text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier curves can be added to images and stretched and rotated.

ImageMagick is free software: it is delivered with full source code and can be freely used, copied, modified and distributed. Its license is compatible with the GPL. It runs on all major operating systems.

Most of the functionality of ImageMagick can be used interactively from the command line; more often, however, the features are used from programs written in the programming languages Perl, C, C++, Python, PHP, Ruby or Java, for which ready-made ImageMagick interfaces (PerlMagick, Magick++, PythonMagick, MagickWand for PHP, RubyMagick, and JMagick) are available. This makes it possible to modify or create images automatically and dynamically.

ImageMagick supports many image formats (over 90 major formats) including popular formats like TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PDF, PhotoCD, and GIF.

Most of you are probably accustom to editing images one at a time with a graphical user interface (GUI) with such programs as gimp or Photoshop. However, a GUI is not always convenient.

Suppose you want to process an image dynamically from a web script or you want to apply the same operations to many images or repeat a specific operation at different times to the same or different image. For these types of operations, the command-line image processing utility is appropriate.

Hardened Linux is a hardened distribution based on a minimalized Slackware Linux 11.0.

This distribution is still under heavy development.

Hardened Linux (a.k.a. "Wendzel Linux") is a security distribution with 3 main targets:

- maximum security
- maximum stability
- maximum usuability

It is optimized to run on as firewall system, vpn gateway, IDS system and authentication system. Currently not all of these features are fully implemented.

Whats New in This Release:

· This just an updated version of the 1.6.6-snapshot release. This release includes our current packages (gcc-4.2, glibc-2.5, kernel 2.6.21.3 and different other package updates). Nothing else has changed. We released this new version because it will still take a few weeks (if not months) before we can release the next snapshot version that includes a completely new package system and a completely new installer system. Please report any kind of bugs.

PaX is a kernel patch implementing additional security feature - non-executable memory pages. Forward port from 2.4 with some extra features, but only i386 is known to work, other architectures may not even compile - feedback is welcome. Much like 2.6 itself, PaX for 2.6 is experimental and anything can break sometime.
NOTE: all versions for 2.6 before 2005.03.05 have a privilege elevation bug, you must update as soon as possible.
NOTE: all versions for 2.6 before 2004.05.01 have a local kernel denial of service bug, thanks to ChrisR for bringing it to our attention.

K12LTSP is based on RedHat Linux and the LTSP terminal server packages. K12LTSP is easy to install and configure.

Once installed K12LTSP lets you boot diskless workstations from an applications server.

Since all applications run on the terminal server, you can use older computers as low-maintenance diskless clients.

tc_config provides a set of scripts for Linux traffic control.

tc_config is set of scripts for Linux 2.4+ traffic control configuration on Red Hat systems and (hopefully) derivatives. It uses cbq qdisc as root one, and sfq qdisc at the leaves.

It includes the snmp_pass utility for getting stats on traffic control via SNMP.

Run: rpm -tb tc-config-0.6.tar.gz (rmpbuild on redhat 8+ systems).

After package will be built, run
rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/tc-config-0.6-1.i386.rpm.

IPsec-Tools is a port of KAMEs IPsec utilities to the Linux-2.6 IPsec implementation. IPsec-Tools supports NetBSD and FreeBSD as well.

Mutagenix (myoot-a-jen-iks) -- n. : A dynamic and mutable variant of Linux; Any one of several LiveCDs based on Slackware and Linux-Live.

Mutagenix is built on Slackware Linux and Linux-Live LiveCD build scripts. Slapt-get is the foundation for the Mutagenix build system.

PloneGuestbook project is a simple Plone product.

The release 0.6.1 allows to use the great PloneCaptcha tool to prevent the ugly spamming guys to fill up your guestbook with useless entries. With release 0.6.2 the manager can easily identify and delete unwanted entries in the new "Edit Guestbook" view.

You need PloneCaptcha 1.0, which will not run on Plone 2.0.5. PloneGuestbook 0.6.x is backward compatible and will also run if PloneCaptcha is not installed. Just disable the captcha option in the ZMI: portal_properties/ploneguestbook_properties.

MyPPP is a ppp dialer+logger for Red Hat Linux. It lets you start a ppp dialup connection to your ISP and it records how much time youre online every month. With MyPPP, you dont have to worry about excess internet bills.

MyPPP uses the MySQL database to record monthly usage time. MyPPP runs under Red Hat Linux 7 or newer with MySQL and Qt installed.

To install follow these commands:
Make sure that you are logged in as root.

1. Extract the archive (tar -zxvf myppp-0.6-rh7-i386+src.tar.gz).
2. Change directory to the installation path (cd myppp-0.6).
3. Type ./install.

To start MyPPP, just type myppp. Make sure the MySQL server is running.

Whats New in This Release:

· Version 0.6 released with daily time record (DTR) feature. In addition to recording monthly usage, this version now also records the logon and logoff times, with the corresponding interface used and the user who used the connection.
