Natural Docs Feb 10, 2007

Natural Docs Feb 10, 2007

Natural Docs is an extensible, multi-language, source code documentation generator written in Perl. more>>
Natural Docs is an extensible, multi-language, source code documentation generator written in Perl.
Its syntax is transparent so the source comments read just as easily as the generated documentation. Natural Docs also focuses on automation and high-quality HTML output.
Keep in mind that if you use the development releases:
- It wont necessarily be as stable as a full release.
- There is no documentation for the new features beyond this page. Documenting Your Code and the Help folder wont be updated until a full release.
- Every new feature may not be complete. Make sure you read the notes on this page fully before using them.
- Only the default CSS style is valid. Since there will be a lot of changes Im letting Small and Roman fall out of date and will recreate them before the full release.
- Likewise, if you made an elaborate custom CSS style its probably broken, and will break again in future development releases.
Enhancements:
- Image support is now completed, so you can specify relative and absolute image directories on the command line instead of links always being relative to the source file.
- ActionScript 3 support is also finished, with better support for custom namespaces.

Natural Language Toolkit 0.8

Natural Language Toolkit 0.8

Natural Language Toolkit is a suite of Python libraries and programs for symbolic and statistical natural language processing. more>>
Natural Language Toolkit is a suite of Python libraries and programs for symbolic and statistical natural language processing. NLTK includes graphical demonstrations and sample data.
It is accompanied by extensive documentation, including tutorials that explain the underlying concepts behind the language processing tasks supported by the toolkit.
Documentation:
A substantial amount of documentation about how to use NLTK is available from the nltk home page:
In particular, the NLTK home page contains three types of documentation:
- Tutorials teach students how to use the toolkit, in the context of performing specific tasks. They are appropriate for anyone who wishes to learn how to use the toolkit.
- The toolkits reference documentation describes every module, interface, class, method, function, and variable in the toolkit. This documentation should be useful to both users and developers.
- A number of technical reports are available. These reports explain and justify the toolkits design and implementation. They are used by the developers of the toolkit to guide and document the toolkits construction. Students can consult these reports if they would like further information about how the toolkit is designed and why it is designed that way.
Enhancements:
Code (major):
- changed package name to nltk
- import all top-level modules into nltk, reducing need for import statements
- reorganization of sub-package structures to simplify imports
- new featstruct module, unifying old featurelite and featurestructure modules
- FreqDist now inherits from dict, fd.count(sample) becomes fd[sample]
- FreqDist initializer permits: fd = FreqDist(len(token) for token in text)
- made numpy optional
Code (minor):
- changed GrammarFile initializer to accept filename
- consistent tree display format
- fixed loading process for WordNet and TIMIT that prevented code installation if data not installed
- taken more care with unicode types
- incorporated pcfg code into cfg module
- moved cfg, tree, featstruct to top level
- new filebroker module to make handling of example grammar files more transparent
- more corpus readers (webtext, abc)
- added cfg.covers() to check that a grammar covers a sentence
- simple text-based wordnet browser
- known bug: parse/featurechart.py uses incorrect apply() function
Corpora:
- csv data file to document NLTK corpora
Contrib:
- added Glue semantics code (contrib.glue, by Dan Garrette)
- Punkt sentence segmenter port (contrib.punkt, by Willy)
- added LPath interpreter (contrib.lpath, by Haejoong Lee)
- extensive work on classifiers (contrib.classifier*, Sumukh Ghodke)
Tutorials:
- polishing on parts I, II
- more illustrations, data plots, summaries, exercises

FlexPlaylist for Noatun 0.4.9

FlexPlaylist for Noatun 0.4.9

FlexPlaylist is an attempt to create a playlist for Noatun. more>>
FlexPlaylist project can create a playlist for Noatun that suits users used to WinAmp XMMS style playlists.
Many people just dont use Noatun because they dont like the playlists and thus I decided to make my own one.
Main features:
- Choose own Font and Size instead of KDE-defaults
- Optionally can hide menubar, list-header, statusbar and toolbar to save space
- Show icon in first column
- Context-sensitive menu (also known as rightclick popupmenu) for common actions
- Use extended m3u playlistformat as native format instead of slower xml (itll still be able to load xml-playlists)
- Configurable keyboard-shortcuts for most actions
- Use alternating colors in listview (as seen in kmail and other kde-applications)
- Statusbar showing playtime of currently played title, overall playlist time and no. of playlist items
- Optional show some play controls in the statusbar
- Dockmode, user chooses the window to dock to
- "Jump to" dialog that lets you easily find files in huge playlists
- Autoresize columns, time takes as much space as needed, title column takes the rest
- Ignores files that cant be played by Noatun when trying to add them to the list
Enhancements:
- This release uses a more natural order when adding folders recursively (it dives into sub-folders before adding files from the current folder).
- The GUI uses standard icons for player controls in the status bar, and draws player controls in the status bar using drawing functions provided by the current KDE/Qt style.
- There are also some minor packaging changes (header checks and Debian packaging support).

Scriptol to PHP for Linux 6.2

Scriptol to PHP for Linux 6.2

A modern programming language, designed to be simple and easy to learn. more>> Scriptol is a modern programming language, designed to be simple and easy to learn, allowing new users ready to program in some hours. The programming time is largely decreased.
Scriptol is object-oriented, xml-oriented, extensible, universal, uses C++, PHP or Java APIs, and GTK for graphical user interface. It is universal, that means it is convenient for scripting, to build applications or to make dynamic web pages.
Free scriptol interpreter and compilers are currently available for Windows and Unix.
Features of Scriptol
Scriptol is :
objectively modern: it has been designed according to seven rules for simplicity, safety, and doesnt carry ancient obsolete syntax.
object-oriented, even simple scalar as "int", or literal as "123", are objects and have methods.
typed: the compiler can check for content and type of variables, that is not possible with usually untyped scripting languages.
natural: types are not based on computers hardware but on humans concepts or mathematical sets: these are text, number, integer, real, etc...
powerful and safe: new control structures has been introduced with scriptol.
Examples:
- composite if, that is both an if statement and a switch case with any kind of values.
- while let, that protects from infinite loop.
- for .. in array, or for .. in a..b, the simplest way to express ranges.
simple: no symbols as -> or ::, just a dot in any case.
Adding 1 to x is just written: x + 1, and not x += 1.
No memory management required, executables have a garbage collector.
C++ compatible: you have just to link C++ object files or library files, and use the functions they hold, no any extension required to write!
For example, you have just to add the GTK import libraries in the configuration file of a scriptol source to use the GTK user interface...
PHP compatible: you can program web pages in Scriptol, your code is converted to Php and all Php functions may be used.

BitWise Routing Server for Linux 1.7

BitWise Routing Server for Linux 1.7

allows you to accept BitWise connections to multiple computers behind a router. more>> The BitWise Routing Server allows you to accept BitWise connections to multiple computers behind a router. Typically, using a router, you would set up port forwarding on BitWises client port (4137), and specify a single destination IP. This is fine until multiple users behind a router all need to accept incoming connections.
As shown by the picture at right, the Routing Server allows individual users to register themselves with the Routing Server, and then the Routing Server accepts all incoming connections and directs those connections to the appropriate user.
The Routing Server requires that your physical router support port forwarding with a way to specify different external and internal ports (this is sometimes labeled "UPnP" by many common home routers).
