Page Title Eraser 0.6.3
Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab. more>>
Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy at your workplace by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab.
I always open several tabs in a Firefox window, but I would not like other people see some of tabs labels. So I wrote the PTE extension which helps me to have such feature. I hope that it can be useful for office people.
The Page Title Eraser adds menu item to the page context menu and "Tools" menu items. "Right-click" menu includes a "Hide title" menu item now. Using this item you can hide/show tab and window titles and tab icon. Each tab has its independent instance of this item.
Since version 0.3.0 you can hide or show all tabs labels using "Hide all titles" menu item. Using the "Options" window you can tell PTE to hide/show the icons of tabs as well as the titles of tabs (see screenshots).
Toolbar button and hot key combination (Ctrl + Shift + H) are also available.
Translations included: Arabic, Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Dutch (NL), English, French, Italian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Spain).

Phaeronix 0.85 Beta
Phaeronix is a Gentoo-based RR4 CD optimised for i686, with GNOME, Reiser4-enabled GRUB. more>>
Phaeronix is a gentoo love-sources RR4 CD with reiser4 enabled grub, auto hardware detection with nvidia 3D support , ready for multimedia, internet, and arabic. It is optimised for i686.
The kernel is now based on the 2.6.15-arckck7 patchset with a couple of additions ( one to fix acer laptop hangs and the other to fix slow laptop battery polls).
http://iphitus.loudas.com/archck.php
Final release is probably going to be based on the new -beyond patchset.
The livecd uses a genkernel generated initramfs, but with quite some hacks added to the linuxrc. As a result this initramfs can now probably boot from any media, anything from IDE to external firewire.
The CD is rendered pseudo-writable thanks to squashfs and unionfs.
Hardware detction is modular and can be turned on and off as needed. You can see the possible options in the cheatcodes list.
Modular Xorg-X11 7.0 is the default Xorg server. XGL server is included as an optional featured activated at boot time by booting like this :
"linux xgl"
This is experimental and might not work. Check http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_XGL
To find out if your card supported and to see if your problem has been already reported.
The desktop is a full gnome-2.14 , there is no KDE and no qt/KDE apps.
The default user name is phaeron and its password is also phaeron.
The root password is root.
The available editors are vim and nano.
Its built specifically to support arabic, with some patches and customizations. However, this is an ongoing process. It was spurred by arabbixs stagnation. Best of all just click on the keyboard applet or press alt+shift and you get an arabic keyboard layout.
"w3m -v" is the text only browser because it supports arabic ( along with bicon to bidi/shape properly ). Check here for the inspiration : http://www.eglug.org/node/1953
Also in gnome-terminal run a new session with the arabic profile and you will have full bidi and shaping thanks to arabeyes bicon.
Msameers arabic wordlist has been included in aspell and openoffice. Check here for the arabic wordlist : http://www.eglug.org/node/1976
You can logout from the desktop and choose arabic as the session language and then log in again. The desktop will be RTL and mostly in arabic. The reason this isnt made easier or more obvious is a lot of things still need translation or bugfixing. The infrastructure is there however.
The supported locales are : arabic, french, italian, german, and slovak.
The official gentoo installer is also included to help installing gentoo if you want.

Adeos Filesystem Security Scanner 1.0
Adeos (named after the obscure Roman goddess of modesty) is an automated filesystem security scanner. more>>
Adeos (named after the obscure Roman goddess of modesty) is an automated filesystem security scanner. It recursively walks all mounted filesystems on the local system and attempts to identify common security concerns such as SUID and world-writeable files.
The output is available as text or html, with either output type formatted in either report or list style. Text is written to stdout and is redirected to a file, while HTML is written to a file named results.html in the local directory.
Adeos should compile and run on almost any UNIX-type system. It has been tested on Sun Solaris and Linux 2.x.
Adeos must be run from a non-priveleged user account on the system. Since a priveleged account, such as root has much greater priveleges than a standard user, the results would be meaningless.
Adeos supports three scan modes: normal, verbose, and paranoid. A brief description of what each looks for is below.
normal: Set-User-ID (SUID) files, Set-Group-ID (SGID) files, world-writeable files, and world-writeable directories. (Default mode)
verbose: Everything that a Normal scan looks for, "Sticky" files, unreadable directories, and inaccessible files.
paranoid: Everything Normal and Verbose scans look for, world-readable files, world-executable files, world-readable directories, and world-executable directories.
Adeos supports the following command-line options. Note that if you want to use multiple options you must specify each one individually.
-d Include dynamic directories (/dev /devices /proc /tmp) in the scan.
-h Place output in an HTML file named results.html
-r Format output as a collated report.
--help Display usage and help information.
A default Adeos run performs a Normal mode scan with list-formatted text output.

jFlash System 1.6
jFlash is a multilingual, web-based flashcard system based on open web standards, PHP, and XML. more>>
jFlash is a multilingual, web-based flashcard system based on open web standards, PHP, and XML. jFlash System consists of two principal software modules:
1. A PHP system for indexing and delivering flashcard content.
2. A browser-neutral Javascript application that parses out and presents a set flashcards represented in XML.
jFlash is useful when you want to memorize something, and perhaps share the ability to memorize things with other people over the web. In addition, jFlash is language neutral since its content is presented in UTF-8, so theoretically you could use jFlash to drill anything from Arabic airports to zoo names in Tamil.
A number of learners around the globe and about 15 students in a University of Minnesota Korean class.
Please let me know if you find my software useful and Ill add a link to your jFlash content on my page if you wish!
jFlash is a server-side web application, so you must at present have a PHP-enabled web server.
Enhancements:
- The PHP frontend was updated to be compatible with PHP versions 5.0 or later by using the included compatibility shim for the new PHP XML DOM interface.
- A few more example lessons were added.

This module is not written for being efficient. In fact it is really inefficient but hopefully easy to use.
As AppleScript (and its way of communicating to Applications) usually has some kind of latency. The creation of readable code is the most important goal when writing this Module.
Another reason for some kind of inefficiency results in the technical problem that AppleScript is a strongly typed language. Converting types back to Perl is easy. But the other direction is not always clear, as converting a scalar from Perl to AppleScript needs some guessing.
The parts of the code that deal with these problems do some tries with different AppleScript commands wrapped in try-blocks. So usually one of the expression works without errors. The same approach is made with hash keys that can contain spaces or underscores inside the key name.
This module assumes that all strings are correctly encoded in perl internals coding sheme based on Unicode. During the conversion to AppleScript all characters inside strings that are not ascii-clean are converted to strange looking unicode-string constructing sequences. I tested a lot of character schemes including west- and mid-european languages as well as russian, greek and arabic with some applications without getting problems.

Twisted Names 0.3.0
Twisted Names is both a domain name server as well as a client resolver library. more>>
Twisted Names project is both a domain name server as well as a client resolver library.
Twisted Names comes with an "out of the box" nameserver which can read most BIND-syntax zone files as well as a simple Python-based configuration format.
Twisted Names can act as an authoritative server, perform zone transfers from a master to act as a secondary, act as a caching nameserver, or any combination of these.
Twisted Names client resolver library provides functions to query for all commonly used record types as well as a replacement for the blocking gethostbyname() function provided by the Python stdlib socket module.
Twisted Names is available under the MIT Free Software licence.
Enhancements:
- Errors in the markup used in API documentation have been fixed.
- A bug where the DNS client would sometimes drop a response has been fixed.
- A bug which prevented non-IN lookups from generating malformed queries has been fixed.
