}
}

NOTES

works for geocode only

this module only knows how to handle Yahoo!s REST responses from the geocode API

known fields

this module will need to be modified if more fields are added to the node, namely, their names will need to be added to the %node_tree hash at the top of the module

this was a quick hack

hey, maybe theres a better module for parsing REST query responses out there? This module was written as a quick hack, not as a one stop solution. If you want to add improvements or what have you, then please feel free to hack away on this till youre blue in the face. Send me the changes though, so I can put em in the distribution.

make test dosent really test anything

well ... its a quick hack. part of writing a quick hack is not writing proper test cases and skimping on documentation, speaking of ... why am I still writing ???

thanks to Yahoo!

Hey, Yahoo! Thanks for your geocode API, its pretty sweet!

Graphical certification authority 0.6.4

Graphical certification authority 0.6.4

Graphical certification authority project is a graphical user interface to OpenSSL, RSA/DSA public keys, certificates,etc. more>>
Graphical certification authority project is a graphical user interface to OpenSSL, RSA/DSA public keys, certificates, signing requests and revokation lists.
The keys have an internal counter, counting its use to avoid a duplicate use of a key for creating a certificate or request.
The Keys are of course encrypted in the db file.
Xca supports next to the usual PEM and DER format of certificates the import and export of PKCS#12 (aka *.pfx) files and the Certificate import from PKCS#7 files.
Certificates can be created by self signing it, by signing it by an other (usually CA) certificate or by signing a PKCS#10 request. Netscape SPKAC is supported since version 0.4.6. The validity dates and x509.v3 extensions can be adjusted to fit ones needs. The use of multiple certificates in CA chains is supported and a tree view of the certificates reflects the dependencies. The application takes care to not create duplicate certificates by checking the serial number(s) on import and creation of certificates.
Certificate Templates can be used to preset the input dialog with reasonable values and to simplify the process of creating certificates and requests.
Issued certificates can be revoked and the revokation list can be created and exported. External revokation lists can be imported and examined.
Enhancements:
- This version fixes an issue where some CA signed certificates were not sorted correctly below that CA.
- Malformed certificates no longer cause a crash.
- The string encoding rules for the distinguished name can now be set in the options dialog and PKCS#10 attributes can be set and inspected.

WWW::Mechanize::Examples 1.30

WWW::Mechanize::Examples is a Perl module with sample programs that use WWW::Mechanize. more>>

SYNOPSIS

Plenty of people have learned WWW::Mechanize, and now, you can too!
Following are user-supplied samples of WWW::Mechanize in action.

You can also look at the t/*.t files in the distribution.

Please note that these examples are not intended to do any specific task. For all I know, theyre no longer functional because the sites they hit have changed. Theyre here to give examples of how people have used WWW::Mechanize.

Note that the examples are in reverse order of my having received them, so the freshest examples are always at the top.

Starbucks Density Calculator, by Nat Torkington

Heres a pair of scripts from Nat Torkington, editor for OReilly Media and co-author of the Perl Cookbook.

Rael [Dornfest] discovered that you can easily find out how many Starbucks there are in an area by searching for "Starbucks". So I wrote a silly scraper for some old census data and came up with some Starbucks density figures. Theres no meaning to these numbers thanks to errors from using old census data coupled with false positives in Yahoo search (e.g., "Dodie Starbuck-Your Style Desgn" in Portland OR). But it was fun to waste a night on.

Here are the top twenty cities in descending order of population, with the amount of territory each Starbucks has. E.g., A New York NY Starbucks covers 1.7 square miles of ground.

New York, NY 1.7
Los Angeles, CA 1.2
Chicago, IL 1.0

Games::Euchre::AI 1.02

Games::Euchre::AI 1.02

Games::Euchre::AI is a Player API for Euchre card game. more>>
Games::Euchre::AI is a Player API for Euchre card game.

This class implements a skeletal Euchre player programming interface. Subclasses can be created quite easily as interactive interfaces or AI computer players.
If you wish to write your own computer player, I recommend you start with Games::Euchre::AI::Simple. If you wish to write your own human interface, I recommend you start with Games::Euchre::AI::Human.

CLASS METHODS

new

Create and initialize a new Euchre AI. This object is implemented as an empty hash. Subclasses may wish to use this hash for state storage.

INSTANCE METHODS

Actions

The following methods are called in the course of the game where the AI (or human) has to make a decision. The state of the game is always passed in a hashreference. The following fields are always available:

name is the name of the current player. This is useful for output messages.
names is a hash relating player number to player name for all four players.
debug is a boolean indicating if we are debugging game or the AIs. Your AI may wish to provide verbose output if debugging is going on.

bid STATEHASH

Choose trump or pass. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
turnedUp => KH,
passes => 1,
ourScore => 2,
theirScore => 4,
winScore => 10,
hangdealer => false,
notrump => false,
hand => [JS, QH, 9S, KC, AD],
debug => false,
}

turnedUp is the suit and value of the card on the top of the blind. This will be undef on the second round of bidding.

passes says how many people have passed so far
hangdealer is a boolean saying whether the hang-the-dealer optional rule is in effect

notrump is a boolean saying whether the no trump optional rule is in effect
This function must return one of: H, D, C, S, N, HA, DA, CA, SA, NA, or undef
N means no trump, A means alone, undef means pass. Not all of these are legal at any given round! Use the isLegalBid() method below if you are unsure.

pickItUp STATEHASH

If this is called, you are the dealer and someone called trump. Choose which card from your hand to discard in exchange for the top card of the blind. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
turnedUp => KH,
trump => H,
bidder => 2,
weBid => false,
usAlone => false,
themAlone => false,
hand => [JS, QH, 9S, KC, AD],
debug => false,
}

This method should return the 0-based index of the card to trade for the turnedUp card. Namely, this in the index of the hand array for the card that you choose.

playCard STATEHASH

Choose which card from your hand to play on this trick. The relevent details of the current state of the game are provided in a hash reference. Here is an example of that data structure:

{
name => Player 1,
names => {1 => Player 1, 2 => P2, 3 => P3, 4 => Fred},
number => 1,
trump => H,
bidder => 2,
weBid => true,
usAlone => false,
themAlone => false,
trick => 2,
ourTricks => 0,
theirTricks => 1,
ourScore => 2,
theirScore => 4,
winScore => 10,
played => [10H, 9H, QC],
playedBy => [2, 3, 4, 1],
hand => [JH, AH, AS, KS],
debug => false,
}

playedBy is an arrayref of numbers of the players in the order they will play. Without this, the alone possibility makes it hard to tell who played what.

Any needed information not stored here (like who was the dealer, what was the turn-up card, what happened in the first trick) is YOUR responsibility to collect and store in your instance.

This method should return the 0-based index of the card to play. Namely, this in the index of the hand array for the card that you choose.

WWW::Search::Yahoo::Classifieds::Employment is a class for searching employment classifieds on Yahoo! more>>
WWW::Search::Yahoo::Classifieds::Employment is a class for searching employment classifieds on Yahoo!

SYNOPSIS

use WWW::Search;
my $oSearch = new WWW::Search(Yahoo::Classifieds::Employment);
my $sQuery = WWW::Search::escape_query("unix c++ java");
$oSearch->native_query($sQuery,
{g => 14,
cr => California});
while (my $res = $oSearch->next_result()) {
my $true_url = $oSearch->getMoreInfo($res->url);
print $res->company . "t" . $res->title . "t" . $res->change_date
. "t" . $res->location . "t" . $true_url . "n";
}

This class is a YC specialization of WWW::Search. It handles making and interpreting YC searches at http://careers.yahoo.com

The returned WWW::SearchResult objects contain url, title, company, location and change_date fields.

The returned url is the one found in the Yahoo! own database. However, it quite often appears in other databases where this url was originally taken from. To retrieve this "true" url use the function getMoreInfo as written in the above example.

WWW::Search::Scraper::Monster is a Perl module used to scrape Monster.com.

SYNOPSIS

use WWW::Search;
my $oSearch = new WWW::Search(Monster);
my $sQuery = WWW::Search::escape_query("unix and (c++ or java)");
$oSearch->native_query($sQuery,
{st => CA,
tm => 14d});
while (my $res = $oSearch->next_result()) {
print $res->company . "t" . $res->title . "t" . $res->change_date
. "t" . $res->location . "t" . $res->url . "n";
}

This class is a Monster specialization of WWW::Search. It handles making and interpreting Monster searches at http://www.monster.com. Monster supports Boolean logic with "and"s "or"s. See http://jobsearch.monster.com/jobsearch_tips.asp for a full description of the query language.

The returned WWW::Search::Response objects contain url, title, company, location and change_date fields.
