CSound Front-End 3.2.2
CSound Front-End is a clean and efficient CSound GUI. more>>
The CSound Front-End provides CSound users with a GUI with a clean and efficient layout.
The main window has been redesigned. The engine input frame is a mutant widget that can accomodate different styles of input selection (in the picture we have orc/sco pair, all-in-one .csd file and orc/generator) as well as most kinds of orc/sco pre-processing.
At the moment you switch from between the input frames using the +/- buttons (ugly!). Settings are saved separately for each frame. From the programmers point of view, writing a pre-processing plug-in now means to write a new engine input frame class.
The option window is still the same. As general GUI design guide line, Im trying to use few complex windows instead of 10s of little windows.
As side effect of the routing re-design, the logger window as been simplified. From the only menu available you can still start an external generator, assigning the logged engine as default route.

Symbolica 0.8
Symbolica is a remake of the C-64 game of the same name. more>>
Symbolica is a remake of the C-64 game of the same name. The project is targeted to the Linux-based handhelds gp2x and N800, with a Linux/386 binary also provided. It should compile under any operating system supported by SDL, SDL_image, and SDL_ttf.
The symbols on the screen represent a numeric value in the order they are displayed on the right. As you move over a symbol, it decrements to the next lower symbol or disappears. Your job is to clear the screen and move to the E symbol.
Your job is to clear the screen and move to the E symbol.
Ofcourse all is in favour to save the world from some evil space mutants that have captured your girlfriend to take over the world... or something like that.
It tries to select best screen resolution for your system, to change default, see symbolica -h
Keys:
GP2X: SELECT quits - rest should be obvious
Linux: ESC quits - 1/2 adjusts volume - rest should be obvious

fastbreeder 1.0.0b2
fastbreeder is an experimental genetic programming synthesiser. more>>
fastbreeder is an experimental genetic programming synthesiser. This program is free software, developed for linux, using jack for audio.
Fastbreeder is essentially a 4 button synth. The idea is to grow code by choosing from a range of automatically generated variations of functions, you dont have to know how they work, but each function creates a sound which can be selected by you.
The following generation is then created containing mutants of your chosen sound. You can refine and develop the sound just by auditioning and choosing the best one each time.
The interface shows you the code graphically, as a tree. These trees are attempts to clearly represent code structure, giving you some feedback on what is being evolved. Conventional listings are not that informative with GP (genetic programming), as deeply functional code such as this is hard to read linearly (see below).

Jumble 1.0.0
Jumble is a class level mutation testing tool that works in conjunction with JUnit. more>>
Jumble project is a class level mutation testing tool that works in conjunction with JUnit. The purpose of mutation testing is to provide a measure of the effectiveness of test cases.
A single mutation is performed on the code to be tested, the corresponding test cases are then executed. If the modified code fails the tests, then this increases confidence in the tests. Conversely, if the modified code passes the tests this indicates a testing deficiency.
Example:
Here is some example Jumble output for a Java class called "Foo", which has some JUnit tests in a class called "FooTest".
Jumble starts by running the unit tests (in FooTest.class) on the unmodified Foo class to check that they all pass, and to measure the time taken by each test. Then it will mutate Foo in various ways and run the tests again to see if they detect the mutation. It continues this process until all mutations of Foo have been tried. The output might look like this:
Mutating Foo
Tests: FooTest
Mutation points = 12, unit test time limit 2.02s
..
M FAIL: Foo:31: negated conditional
M FAIL: Foo:33: negated conditional
M FAIL: Foo:34: - -> +
M FAIL: Foo:35: negated conditional
......
Score: 67%
This says that Jumble has tried 12 different mutants of Foo and the unit tests (in FooTest) correctly detected the changed behaviour in 8/12 cases (indicated by a .), but failed to detect the change in the other 4/12 cases. For example, when an if (C) decision on line 31 was mutated to if (!C), the unit tests still passed, so they are probably not testing that if statement thoroughly enough.
Overall, 67% of the mutations were detected by the unit tests, which means that they probably need to be improved.
Enhancements:
- This is the first public release, though Jumble has been used on a daily basis within ReelTwo.com for several years.

TSSHP 0.2.10f
TSSHP is a project to reverse-engineer and recode Looking Glass games. more>>
TSSHP is a project to reverse-engineer and recode Looking Glass games.
TSSHP (The System Shock Hack Project) is a project to reverse-engineer and recode (from scratch, but using the original datafiles) the 3D role-playing/shooter games from Looking Glass (System Shock and the Ultima Underworlds).
A 3D renderer which lets you explore Citadel Station from System Shock (or the Stygian Abyss, or the Labyrinth of Worlds). The basic architecture is present and fully texture-mapped. Wall decals (icons, switches, paintings, stains, bullet holes etc.), sprites and 3D models are drawn. Cyberspace levels for System Shock are drawn wire-framed and depth-cued.
Static and dynamic lighting is supported, up to a point, for architecture an objects. The only dynamic light so far implemented is the Avatars lamp for Underworld.
The main framework for the MFD/HUD is present, courtesy firefreak. The sensaround multi-view display for System Shock is supported, as is an automap feature both in an MFD and as a transparent heads-up map in the main view. Other transparencies (force doors, bridges, invisible mutants) are rendered for System Shock.
