Yahoo Mail Sucker pr79
Yahoo Mail Sucker is a Perl script that allows you to fetch Yahoo Mail messages. more>>
As you probably know, Yahoo Mail does not provide free POP access to its users any more. You can still use your YM account for free, but you have to use a Yahoo Mail web site to access your account.
This is not very convenient as you always have to be online, you cannot use your favourite e-mail client to read your messages, and so on. You can easily immagine the disadvantages of having to manage all your corespondence via web.
When Yahoo disabled its free POP access, the first thing that came to my mind was to change my e-mail account. But then I realized, there are far too many people used to my current Yahoo Mail address, that I am used to my YM address very much too and I thought - if Yahoo closes a free service, the other services will follow sooner or later. So changing an e-mail service/account wasnt really solution.
That is when I have decided to write YoSucker as a simple portable perl application, that would simulate a user actions to retrieve my mail to my local inbox. Yahoo Mail Sucker simply connects to the Yahoo Mail web site, parses the HTML code and fetches new messages.
With time I have added lots of other features and functionality (like support for multiple accounts, support for procmail, support for local Yahoo Mail sites, for proxy connection and much more) but the basic idea still stay the same...
Main features:
- secure SSL login
- support for multiple accounts
- encrypted passwords for enhanced security
- transaction safe writes
- support for various folders (including BULK mail)
- support for multiuser environment
- support for multiple mailboxes in one config file
- support for procmail (output to a pipe)
- support for localized Yahoo Mail sites
- support for proxy
- support for basic proxy authorization
- support of command line parameters
- powerful digest feature for listing mailbox content
- handles virtually unlimited number of messages
- LeaveOnServer, EmptyTrash and OnlyNew features
- restore message unread flag feature
- powerful CLEAN option
- quota storage warning system
- session Respawn feature
Enhancements:
- This things been around too long be be a prototype any longer.
- Filtered the annoying "Yahoo! Domain Keys" message in From header

MoSSHe 1.4.0
MoSSHe is a simple, lightweight server monitoring package. more>>
MoSSHe (MOnitoring with SSH Environment) is a simple, lightweight (both in size and system requirements) server monitoring package designed for secure and in-depth monitoring of a handful of typical/critical internet systems. For example in a current setup I do 264 checks on 29 servers - on average 9 checks for each system. MoSSHe supports email alerts out of the box - and whatever you can script.
The web interface to status and logs reflects this approach: less than 10 systems are ideal for the "big" (showall) web display, less then 50 for the problem-centric (tactical) view. More than 100 systems should easily be possible, but I have not tested such an extended setup.
In contrast to many other NMS (Network Management Systems) it is not possible to "overload" a MoSSHe system - the minimum checkup intervals will simply extend with each added system, though. For the setup mentioned above the time needed for 264 checks on 29 servers is 100 seconds. But for your setup it may vary significantly.
Via the web interface you can view the overall status (tactical.py), server status and service history, but you cannot modify anything - which makes it quite safe for even non-admin multiuser use...

pam_quota 0.1
pam_quota is a simple pam session module to automatically setup user quota (root excluded). more>>
pam_quota is a simple pam session module to automatically setup user quota (root excluded).
pam_quota has been used in a simple multiuser scenario on FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE with pam_mkhomedir, without any problem. Usege is straightforward, as described by the following README:
This is a simple pam session module to automatically setup user quota (root excluded). To build it simply type make from its directory. To install simply issue a make install, and note that by default it will install into /usr/lib (a good place for FreeBSD system): you can override that giving a different DESTDIR to make. For example on Linux you may want to install pam_quota to /lib/security issuing make install DESTDIR=/lib/security.
To enable pam_quota, just add a similar line into /etc/pam.d/< service >:
session required pam_quota.so bhardlimit=30000
bsoftlimit=25000 ihardlimit=15000 isoftlimit=20000 itime=86400 btime=86400
Arguments are used to setup quota values (by default everything is zero) andfollows the dqblk structure:
bhardlimit absolute limit on disk blks alloc
bsoftlimit preferred limit on disk blks
ihardlimit maximum # allocated inodes + 1
isoftlimit preferred inode limit
btime time limit for excessive disk use
itime time limit for excessive files

Babel Enterprise 1.0.0
Babel Enterprise is an audit tool, focused on evaluating Operating System base security. more>>
Babel Enterprise is an audit tool, focused on evaluating Operating System base security. Babel Enterprise evaluate the security level, or hardening, from a wide range of Operating Systems. Babel Enterprise run several audit probes and checks to give a photograph of the current system security status. Babel Enterprise also gives a Security Indicator of whole system.
Babel Enterprise design is made to manage system security in a big and complex enviroment with many different kind of Operating Systems, versions, technology and configurations. This complexity include to manage different human teams with different abilities and responsabilities. Babel Enterprise its a multiuser, distributed management auditing system for the major Operating Systems of the real world. Babel Enterprise also allows to be installed which redundant components in all of its components.
Each time you run a new audit policy, you will be able to see and evaluate objectively each important change in your systems: modifications on existing elements, new or erased elements, so that it will know if the security of that system its going to get better or its going to get worse and, very important, what its happenning.
Babel Enterprise uses a pragmatic point of view and tries to evaluate those points that represent a security risk and could be improved by intervention of the administrator. Babel Enterprise is Free Software, so its very flexible because has an open API and all internal details to allow advanced users to adapt to any imaginable audit check, without limits.
Babel Enterprise its a non-intrusive tool, so absolutely no change is made in your systems. Babel Enterprise only run so many tests as you need and give you the results in a detailed way, including a final numeric Security Indicator.
Babel Enterprise agents has versions to run in the last versions of Microsoft, like Windows 2003, Windows XP, and the more common Unix systems, like Solaris 9, AIX 5.1, SUSE GNU/Linux 9 ES and Debian/Ubuntu Dapper, but Babel Enterprise agents could be very easily adapted for another versions and other similar systems, like BSD systems or HPUX).
Babel Enterprise is Free Software. It has a public source repository (Subversion). All documentation has been generated using Free Standards, like DocBook SGML, and edited using Free Software (eMacs, OpenJade). WEB page for the project is http://babel.sourceforge.net. Also we have a small comunity of power users at http://www.openideas.info.

Mica 0.8
Mica is a networked and persistent Object-Oriented programming language. more>>
Mica is a system for building network-accessible multiuser portable applications. It is a programming language and object environment designed to be accessible by more than one programmer at a time.
It includes an implementation of a mostly pure object oriented language. Automatic persistence, reflection, strong encapsulation, multiple dispatch, and run-time security are some of its features.
Mica is designed with extensible "Collaborative Virtual Environments" (CVEs) in mind. In particular I intend to implement a highly-collaborative authoring environment within which users and agents can cooperate. Other subsets of CVEs include MUDs/MOOs or massively multiplayer online games.
Main features:
- Long-running / persistent and extensible applications. (Mica provides transparent persistence, meaning the objects that you use in your application will be there the next time you restart Mica.)
- Networked applications. (Mica is designed to concurrently execute many sessions at once)
- Collaborative applications hosting multiple concurrent authors. (Mica provides the tools to make sure the objects you create in a running collaborative application can be made secure and wont be overwritten by others)
- Rapidly prototyped software. (Micas prototype inheritance allows object relationships to evolve over time in a more intuitive way than many traditional class-based object oriented languages)
- Software with lots of objects with complex, evolving behaviours. (Micas use of multiple dispatch often makes modeling the actions an object can take much simpler and more intuitive.)

minb is a content management system that makes it possible to share Moments with others or just log them for your own use.
The data is stored in XML-format and does not require a database. Its design is extremely modular and it supports read-only accounts for sensitive data.
The engine is equally fit to be used as a blog, a personal homepage framework, or a publicly accessible information site concentrating on news or project coordination.
Multiuser support:
As long as no user is registered, you will not be able to add entries and (if you do this manualy) to view them.
Follow the instructions after loading "index.php" and register. The first registered user is a superuser (if you wanna change it, edit ./db/users.db manualy).
Only the superuser should be able to add new users, grant them superuser status and change preferences.
As long as only one user is registered, no author name will be displayed assuming that the site belongs to only one person.
After > 1 users register, the author name will be displayed.
Themes support:
There is a file named "default.css" in "./include/themes". Please feel free to change this theme according to your feeling for design.

.
In the case you wanna exclude a module from being loaded, you may rename it to whatever without the *.php extension or just delete it.
If you wanna write a new module you should take a look at the source to see where and how to add it.
Dont forget to add a new style in "./include/themes/*.css" if you add it in a new directory in "./include/modules"!
Please mail me your module(s) if you consider them useful for others. I will link to them on the website of the project too.
Category support:
The entries are organized in category directories, e.g. "./categories/general", "./categories/music", "./categories/politics".
The files in these directories are named as described below.
Adding new category is easy. As long as the permissions of the directory "./categories/" are 0666,
you will be able to add a new directory (category) every time you add a new entry.
If you are not familiar with file permissions, get familiar with them! This is good for life!
Filter support:
You may filter the output of the entries as follows:
index?a=name displays the entries of a given author
index?month=MM displays the entries of a given month
index?year=YY displays the entries of a given year
index?category=category displays the entries of a given category
index?title=title displays the entries with a given title // somehow useless.. but implemented by.. mistake
index?s=string displays the entries with highlightened "string" contained in the content ("s" stands for "search")
index?search=string displays the entries with "string" contained in the content
Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS code by default:
The entries are written in pure HTML so it is up to you to maintain the further validity of the code.
Enhancements:
- New features include an installer, AJAX code, an optional BSD-licensed WYGIWYS-editor, an option to upload a picture, and tags.
- The library for XML parsing was changed to one with a BSD-like license.
- The format of storing the entries using CDATA was changed, removing the problems with special characters (Cyrillic, quotes, etc.).
- Each entry is saved in a separate file, avoiding some previous conflicts.
- The default theme was changed to one that is basicaly compatible with IE6.
- The management of the modules was dramatically improved, so it now can be done by drag-and-drop.

Son of Service 0.1.5
Son of Service is a Web-based, multi-user volunteer management database for non-profits, schools, clubs, etc. more>>
Son of Service (SOS) is a multiuser volunteer management database for non-profits, charities, schools, churches, and clubs. SOS will keep track of your volunteers, their contact information, availability, work history, comments, reminders, and relationships.
It will help you quickly find the right volunteer for the job and e-mail him, and it will make reports about how you are using volunteers.
SOS is a helpful tool for organizations with many volunteers or multiple volunteer coordinators.
Your organization helps people for free, and your volunteers work for free. So you know there is a "free lunch."
SOS is free. Its free from charge: notice there is no menu option for purchasing or ordering. But SOS also provides freedom from many restrictions. Download the program, install it, and use it without buying expensive licenses.
Use it on as many systems with as many users and volunteers as you have. Use your choice of server operating system and RDBMS. (You dont need to buy a RDBMS or other server software.) You can even modify SOS to meet your specific needs because the full source is available to you.
