libmtp is an implementation of Microsofts Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) in the form of a library suitable primarily for POSIX compliant operating systems.
libmtp is based on (forked from) the great libptp2 library by Mariusz Woloszyn.
Installation:
Problems with compilation under FC4: GCC4 related problem.
Run this:
CC=gcc32
export CC
./configure
make
Enhancements:
- It uses extended commands to retrieve and cache large metadata sets quickly.
- Is features VERY many new device ID:s and bug flags making it ever more interoperable.
- It fully supports 64bit filesizes. (We hope.).
- It produced udev rules for the new kernels.
- It produces a very bleeding edge HAL style .fdi file.
- Many, many other bug fixes. Notice that the album API in the libmtp.h file has changed somewhat, it should be quite easy to upgrade the existing code. However the album API still needs some overhaul. The library version is bumped to libmtp.so.6 as a consequence of the changes which affects distribution packaging and makes it necessary to recompile applications linking to libmtp.

iriverh10.amarokscript 0.9.6

iriverh10.amarokscript 0.9.6

iriverh10 is an amarokscript to manage the iRiver H-series digital audio player in USB mass storage mode. more>>
iriverh10 is an amarokscript to manage the iRiver H-series digital audio player in USB mass storage mode (USM mode as opposed to MTP-mode) from within amaroK.

iriverh10 script is build around easyh10. This is a commandline utility to generate a media database and playlist for the iRiver H-series digital audio player.

All actions on the device, that changes the content, make reconstructing the databases necessary. This is done with easyh10. It reconstructs the media database from the music files and converts the playlist files into PLP/PLA playlist files, which are recognized by the H10 player.

Transferring MP3/WMA/WAV files into the music directory and creating M3U/M3U8/PLS playlist files under the playlist directory must be done manually in advance. This is where amaroK comes in place.

libnjb 2.2.5

libnjb 2.2.5

libnjb is a C library and API for communicating with the Creative Nomad JukeBox and Dell DJ digital audio players under Linux. more>>
libnjb is a C library and API for communicating with the Creative Nomad JukeBox and Dell DJ digital audio players under Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and Windows.
The protocol these devices use is presumably called PDE (Portable Digital Entertainment protocol) at Creative. Newer devices using the Microsoft MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) are NOT supported.
There are no kernel devices required for libnjb:s operation, so instead it depends on user-level USB using libusb on all platforms. The following platforms are currently supported:
FreeBSD and NetBSD. FreeBSD is the primary development platform, though NetBSD users have successfully built and run the library and sample applications.
OpenBSD has not been tested, but if it uses the same USB stack as the other BSDs, then it should work fine.
Linux works fine. (Note that libusb also requires that users mount the usbdevfs filesystem, which everybody should have as default nowadays.)
MacOS X (Darwin) is also supported and works fine.
Solaris is supported through Sun:s own reimplementation of libusb.
Working Devices:
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox 1 (aka D.A.P.)
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox 2
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox 3
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen USB 2.0
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen NX
- Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra
- Creative Zen Touch
- Creative Zen Micro
- Creative Zen Sleek
- Creative Zen
- Dell Digital Jukebox ("Dell DJ")
- Second Generation Dell DJ
- Dell Pocket DJ
NOT SUPPORTED:
- Creative Zen Portable Media Center
- Creative Zen MicroPhoto
- Any other MTP device
Newer devices have a 2.x MTP/PlaysForSure firmware upgrade - we do not support MTP so please dont install it!
