mp3html 1.3.8
MP3html 1.3.8
MP3html is a utility for generating listings of MP3 files based on their ID3 tags and information. more>>
Originally, it was just a hacked together interface for some ID3 routines I coded because I was bored, but since then it has evolved into something that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a useful program.Of course, because its flexible, it can be used for anything from creating playlists to making SQL databases.
If I may take some time to toot my own horn, I have to say that MP3html is pretty freakin awesome. Ive been able to use it to do so many kinds of MP3 manipulations I never dreamed of that its frightening. Ive started writing scripts so you can duplicate other programs (like id3ren) with it and now that Ive added preset templates, the possibilities are nearly endless. If only I could get sorting to work....
As of the release of 1.3.0, MP3html is undergoing heavy testing and development. All the code from 1.2.4 has been deleted and I started over again with the goals of better performance and more configurability. Im happy to say that Ive achieved both goals. Once I get the 1.3.X series stabilized and all the features added, I will release version 2.0.0 and stop active development for awhile so I can concentrate on redoing my web pages and working on some other programming projects.
MP3html works by reading information from MP3s files and then using templates containg codes like $FILENAME and $ARTIST to create configurable lists of MP3s. This section should show you how to use it. For information about the tags that go in the template files, check out the file TAGS.
Enhancements:
- fixed segfaults with footers and headers in presets (hopefully)
- removed those neat error messages for fopen/malloc/realloc in favor of ones which were actually useful and small
- fixed error in llist.c/ll_delete_list() that would cause segfaults if there was only one file specified
- once again, patched to properly calculate song times - fixed problem with long ID3v2 tags so everything *should* work fine
- added "-m --middle-text" which is the exact same as the "-t --template" option. In reality, -t should have been -m but Im leaving it in for backwards compatibility.
iptables 1.3.8
iptables is a Linux kernel packet control tool. more>>
iptables is a generic table structure for the definition of rulesets. Each rule within an IP table consists out of a number of classifiers (iptables matches) and one connected action (iptables target).
netfilter, iptables and the connection tracking as well as the NAT subsystem together build the whole framework.
Main features:
- stateless packet filtering (IPv4 and IPv6)
- stateful packet filtering (IPv4)
- all kinds of network address and port translation (NAT/NAPT)
- flexible and extensible infrastructure
- multiple layers of APIs for 3rd party extensions
- large number of plugins/modules kept in patch-o-matic repository
mod-xslt 1.3.8
mod-xslt is an Apache module that converts XML files into HTML files using XSLT stylesheets. more>>
It is able to parse dynamically generated documents, both in POST and GET requests, includes a fully featured language to choose the stylesheet to load from both configuration files and from .xml files, and allows stylesheets to access server variables. It supports redirects, dynamically generated stylesheets, and both Apache 1 and 2.
Enhancements:
- configure, configure.ac - updated automatically by release scripts, in order to prepare a snapshot.
Comix 1.3.8
Comix is a flat style for KDE 3.2+. more>>
I hope this adds a little more fun to your desktop.
Thanks to all the authors of previous styles published for KDE. Please read AUTHORS, README and TODO.
Use the styles configuration button to overwrite the contour drawing color.
Use KDEs ControlCenter "Colors" dialog to adjust buttons- and highlight-color as well as the contrast.
Use kcontrols window decoration config-dialog to adjust title alignment and border width.
Also check the corresponding cursor theme at: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=32627
Enhancements:
- kwin: title update fix
- kwin: window shading fix (Debian bug report 364459)
- kwin: inactive sunken buttons
Wurm Online 1.3.8
Wurm Online is 3D FPP MMORPG game. more>>
Online multiplayer role-playing game, where players walk freely in a big 3D world chatting, gathering resources, building towns, making items, trading, fighting with other players and computer controlled creatures. Chose your path - crafting or PvP fighting. Join a village or live solo. Massive skill tree with skill affected by your actions.
LightBlue 0.2.2
LightBlue is a cross-platform Python Bluetooth API. more>>
Main features:
- Device and service discovery (with and without end-user GUIs)
- Standard socket interface for RFCOMM sockets
- Sending and receiving files over OBEX
- Advertising of RFCOMM and OBEX services
- Local device information
Version restrictions:
- findservices() and selectservice() on Python For Series 60 returns only RFCOMM and OBEX services
- Avoid threading on Mac OS X, as the underlying IOBluetooth and IOBluetoothUI frameworks are not thread-safe
- No cross-platform set of socket options
- Sockets (the native PyS60 API sockets are used, so their restrictions are inherited - but I havent used PyS60 1.3.8 yet so Im not sure about that)
- sockets on Python For Series 60 cannot be created in one thread and used in another
- fileno() raises NotImplementedError on Mac OS X and Python For Series 60
- timeouts not supported on Python For Series 60: settimeout() raises NotImplementedError, gettimeout() returns None
- non-blocking mode on PyS60 works for send() and recv but not accept() or connect()
- No socket options on Mac OS X, and flags arguments (e.g. for recv) have no effect
- socket security cannot be set (PyS60 implementation sets this to AUTH by default)
- Error codes for exceptions are platform-independent. In particular, the Mac OS X implementation can return IOReturn error values from the IOKit framework, and OBEXError codes from < IOBluetooth/OBEX.h > for OBEX operations.
Enhancements:
- The PyS60 3rd Edition binaries have (really) been fixed, and gethostaddr() and gethostclass() should also be fixed for PyS60 2nd Edition FP2 and FP3.
- Since its getting more difficult to build for PyS60 1st Edition, this build has been dropped for this version -- which isnt an issue for this release since there are no new features -- but there wont be any further builds for this edition. If you need to compile LightBlue for 1st Edition, feel free to email me with any issues.
- Fixed functions on Mac OS X build that wait (e.g. finddevices(), recv() for sockets) so that they dont busy-wait and hog the CPU.
Featherweight Linux 1.3
Featherweight Linux is a Live-CD installable Linux distribution that is remastered from Feather Linux. more>>
Their goal is to make a light and fast Linux with a very small footprint that can be installed on USB pen drives and such. My goal is a bit different. I want a full featured Linux that isnt bloated with a kazillion gigs of crap that Ill never use. I want a small footprint that is light and fast, even on older machines, but still carries a knockout punch.
So I took Feather and stripped out a bunch of apps that I never even thought of using. I wanted to make an easy to understand desktop that was compatible and easily configurable with the latest apps being developed, so I removed all of the window managers and installed a minimal KDE 3.3 desktop.
I included the most popular internet apps like the Mozilla Suite complete with plugins, Gaim, Gftp etc... I added full printer support and wifi support. In my test environment, it automatically detects and configures both my network printer (HP PSC 1210)and my linksys wireless card. Hopefully, itll do the same for you. It is debian based so I installed Synaptic for easy upgrading and totally FREE software management. Customizing your own system with the software that you want is only a few clicks away.
In its current state, the ISO is about 240mb and the HDD install is about 700mb, which is about 1/4 of all the other overweight distros out there. Once you install it, you can install OpenOffice and a bunch of other stuff if you need it, but I just wanted to make a good solid functional base so you can build your own system if you want.
Featherweight is intended for novice users with "some" linux experience, intermediate users, and experienced linux users alike. It has a pretty straight forward install but you should know linux and HDD partitioning basics before trying to install it.

OpenEMM 5.1.1
OpenEMM is a feature-rich industrial-strength enterprise software for e-mail marketing. more>>
The OpenEMM code base has been developed since 1999 and is used (as part of the commercial ASP product E-Marketing Manager) by companies like BenQ, CA, IBM, Siemens, Deutsche Telekom, Tiscali, etc.
OpenEMM offers already more than 90% of the functionality of the commercial product and some features the commercial product does not offer right now (i.e. new user interface, MySQL support, etc.).
The main difference is, that OpenEMM is an easy to set up single server solution, while its big brother E-Marketing Manager operates on several distributed servers as software on demand.
Main features:
- use e-mail marketing to manage their customer relations (CRM)
- use e-mail marketing to distribute content from various sources (CMS)
- use e-mail marketing to collect data about recipients and to analyze them (BI)

<<lessHTTP Server type 1.2.3
httptype is a program that returns the http host software of a website. more>>
httptype reads a list of http hosts and optionally the port number for each of these. It queries each host, displaying the type of HTTP server running on that host. It reads the http_proxy and no_proxy environment variables to determine whether to use a proxy or not.
httptype reads a list of http servers and, optionally, the port number for each of these. It then queries each of the hosts and displays the HTTP server software of the host.
Input may be read from a host file if specified using the --hosts switch:
httptype --hosts [hostfile]
If hostfile is omitted or `-, httptype reads from standard input. See Format of host file for more info.
A single host may be queried by passing its name on the command line:
httptype host [port]
If port is omitted, 80 is used.
If no host file is specified through the --hosts file and no host is specified on the command line, httptype will read the list from standard input. See Format of host file for more info.
httptype will read the http_proxy environment variable and try to determine if a proxy server is being used. This setting may be overridden using the --proxy switch:
httptype --proxy proxyhost[:proxyport]
If proxyport is omitted, 80 is used.
If the proxy server is `none, no proxy is used. This is typically used to prevent httptype from using the proxy server specified by http_proxy. The --noproxy switch can be used to achieve the same.
Additionally, you may use the no_proxy environment variable to specify a comma delimited list of hosts for which httptype should not use the proxy. If httptype comes across any of these hosts, it will make a direct connection to them.
Enhancements:
- made 1.3.8 stable and renamed to 1.2.3
nfsstats.pl 0.1
nfsstats.pl is a Net-SNMP sub-agent that parses. more>>
nfsstats.pl is useful for remotely monitoring NFS client or server usage via SNMP to utilities like MRTG, Cacti, or Ganglia.
Installation:
Installation instructsion are contained in the form of comments at the top of nfsstats.pl script. nfsstats.pl is only suitable for Linux. NFS version 3 statistics are made available.
Firstly, ensure you have a working Net-SNMP install. Secondly, ensure you have the Perl sub-components of Net-SNMP installed (in Fedora Core, do yum install net-snmp-perl). Thirdly, save nfsstats.pl to /var/net-snmp/. Add the following line to /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: master agentx. Start nfsstats.pl in the way of your choice, logged to file of your choice (eg 2>/dev/null). Note that nfsstats.pl must be started as root.
If your snmpd is built with embedded Perl support (Fedora Core doesnt), then you can import the sub agent directly into the snmpd. See the script for more details.
Usage:
After you have successfully installed nfsstats.pl, you should be able to walk the provided OIDs: snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost enterprises.6789.6789 or snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.6789.6789. As we have no MIB for nfsstats.pl yet, the numbers coming back wont make much sense. However, they should bear a striking resemblance to the output of /usr/sbin/nfsstat!
The list below is all the 114 statistics that nfsstats.pl can provide for SNMP values. The ones you should monitor (eg using MRTG) are entirely up to you.

foosic for amaroK 0.3
foosic is a script for amaroK Music Diary. more>>
You can see your own statistics, and, if you allow it, let your friends see what you are listening to and what you like.
You can browse the database on this site and discover new artists or albums that you didnt know about before."
Based on the protocol description I created a ruby script for amaroK so I can update my statistics also from my Linux box.
The script was tested with ruby version 1.8.3 and amaroK 1.3.8. The script depends on Korundum for the config panel.
You can use the amaroK Script manager to install the script.
As Im no expert neither in ruby nor in Qt, if anyone feels corrections should be made to the script, please tell me so or correct the mistake yourself.
I probably wont add new features unless Im *really* bored. Or they are useful *and* easy to implement.
Oh, and Im not related in any way to the original foosic developers.
