MP3 Streamer 2.3

MP3 Streamer 2.3

MP3 Streamer streams MP3 files with an easy Web interface. more>>
This module enables to listen to mp3-streams according to certain security policies (enabled user). The mp3s do not have to be in the web-servers document root.
Main features:
- XHTML compliant.
- Admin interface allows you to change position, visibility and title of the stream playlist Box.
- You dont have to fiddle around with config files. Interface is provided to configure the paths etc., user access and reset the access counter.
- Dynamic directory parsing for mp3-files
- mp3-file names are not held in a database as the File/Directory names are used to create the displayed Songs, album titles etc. as mp3 tags extraction capabilities are not included in php by default.
- Artist, Album, mp3-file browsable
- Playlist handling capabilities with playlist editor
- Demo mode for guests possible, e.g. streaming not enabled.
- Clicking on a Song will send a mpeg-url type information to the mp3-player application such as winamp or xmms. (Tested under linux with xmms only).
Version restrictions:
- The software only searches through 2 Directory structures. It is meant to go through: $mp3dir/Artist-Name/Album-Name/mp3-files.mp3 It however detects files in the Artist-Directory and shows these accordingly. As I didnt use this function, I dont know what it looks like though.

MP3 renamer 2006 0.62

Mp3 renamer 2006 by MiKe is a shell script for Linux. more>>
Mp3 renamer 2006 by MiKe is a shell script for Linux. MP3 renamer goes by the Unix name of rename-mp3. It looks at MP3 files in a Directory and, using id3v2, will rename all the mp3 files in a nice format according to the id3 tags rename-mp3 will look at both v1 and v2 id3 tags, and will make the output file in a Title-Album-Artist.mp3 format.
It saves time, and not only will it read the id3 tags, but in the event that the MP3 file has no id3 tags, you will be given 4 options
1)abort 2)skip 3)rename 4)write id3 tags, and you are asked what you would like the id3 tag artist, track name and album to be.
This is great if you want the track to be easy to view and yet you still like having a library of music that is all tagged nicely!
Enhancements:
- New stuff: The INSTALLER now works, whereas before it wouldnt copy...

News Streamer 0.2

News Streamer 0.2

News Streamer provides a script to play the most recent France 2 news report with Mplayer. more>>
News Streamer provides a script to play the most recent France 2 news report with Mplayer.

The French TV station France 2 has been kind enough to make its news broadcasts available on the Internet. However, this has been done in a way thats not particularly friendly to non-Microsoft products.

This script makes things easier by checking for the availability of the most recent news report and then playing it using Mplayer.

The checking for the availability of an episode is done using a mmsrip.

If its useful to you to watch the news at a different speed, a speed parameter may be passed to this script (eg f2 0.5 to play at half speed)

If the most recent episode is not available, this script will keep searching back until it finds the most recent available episode.

It wont keep searching for ever, however, and gives up after 10 episodes.

To be honest, if it doesnt find anything after 10 episodes it probably means that theres a problem at their end, theyve change their URL format, or youve got some kind of network trouble.

wmstradio 0.2.2

wmstradio 0.2.2

wmstradio is a doc app that acts as a radio for streamed media. more>>
wmstradio is a doc app that acts as a radio for streamed media. It reads a list of "channels" and allows them to be selected in a radio like interface. wmstradio launches Real Player connecting to the site that you select.
The only configuring wmstradio needs is a list of RealAudio sites to connect to. This is provided through a directory called ~/.wmstradio which contains link files to the sites. These link files are what you get when you try to save the link through a web browser. They are text files containing a URL to the server real audio streamer. The name of this file is used as the name of the chanel in the wmstradio display window.
Enhancements:
- BUGFIX: shaifuljahari at yahoo.com pointed out that an empty .wmstradio directory caused the app to core on load. Fixed.
- MISC: Empty directories are now detected at load, and during the lifetime of the app. Appropriate error message given on standard error and lcd.
- DOCUMENTATION: CREDITS added.

MP3 Database II 2.9

MP3 Database II 2.9

MP3DB2 is a collection of bash scripts for keeping track of large MP3 collections. more>>
MP3DB2 is a collection of bash scripts for keeping track of large MP3 collections. It will retrieve song information from the filenames and ID3 tags of a directory or CD of MP3s and store them in a local database.
This program is a complete rewrite of my MP3 database version 1. Version 1 only stored the data that was present in the filenames while version 2 actually retrieves information from the ID3 tags of each MP3.
Please note that as of this version the database format is NOT considered carved in stone. I have already added a few fields mid-development and this will continue for a while if I think the format can be made better. See the changelog for a list of changes to the database format since V2.0.
Enhancements:
- mp3dupe: now just displays the name of the directory we are checking not the full path in the host filesystem.

MP3 Streaming DownSampler for PHP is written with cable modem/DSL users with low upstream caps in mind. more>>
MP3 Streaming DownSampler for PHP is written with cable modem/DSL users with low upstream caps in mind. Using LAME, it dynamically downsamples a requested MP3 to a bitrate which can be streamed.

It doesnt use temporary files, so you dont have to take the time to do any batching, and you just give it a directory with symlinks to your music in a place the Web server can reach. The interface is simplistic and fast, meant for immediate plug and play access.

imp3sh 0.2.4

imp3sh 0.2.4

imp3sh is a flexible playlist manipulation shell and song player/streamer. more>>
imp3sh is a flexible playlist manipulation shell and song player/streamer. It natively supports MP3 and Ogg/Vorbis files and URLs with the Xaudio Asynchronous library. imp3sh was created with the main goal to allow the Lixux audio enthusiast to easily manage thousands or hundreds of thousands of songs in any format.
Main features:
- 90+ Built-in commands, not including hotkeys
- Extermely small footprint
- Handles large playlists and queues with ease
- Natively plays MP3 and Ogg-Vorbis Files/URLs
- Uses external players to play any other file type
- Powerful playlist and queue manipulation
- Search and sort via tag info or filenames with assignable priority
- Random, repeat, once, learning, and queue playmodes
- Command aliasing
- Flexible event system
- Mixer control and 10 band equalizer
- Time-stamped shell prompts
- Command history
- Console buffering and formatting
- Full Unix-style job control
- Tab completion on files, commands, lists, and list entries
- Environmental variable manipulation
Enhancements:
- Added filterlist command:
- filterlist [-c]
- This command will remove any duplicate entries in the given list. A duplicate is any two entries in the list who have the same view information. There are 4 view modes a list can be in, see the README files for more information.
- If the "-c" option is given before the list name, the command will check and report duplicates found, without removing them.
- Be warned! This command is *very* slow and could take many minutes when working with large lists.
- Simple URIs are now accepted for "play" and "fileq" commands. Any file starting with "file://" will be decoded as a URI.
- Added some code to de-sync imp3sh from the decoder process when executing internal commands. Now the music wont stop playing when executing internal commands that take forever to complete...
- The most recently added external player is used. This allows you to override the built-in Xaudio decoder by adding an external player supporting the same file type(s).

MP3 as CD verifier 2 0.1a

MP3 as CD verifier 2 0.1a

MP3 as CD verifier 2 performs lookups on CDDB servers. more>>
MP3 as CD verifier 2 performs lookups on CDDB servers in an attempt to determine whether one or multiple directories of downloaded/ripped MP3 files has correct track lengths.
Please remember that mp3ascd uses the alphabetically sorted list of .mp3 files per directory Hence it is possible that if your filenames are somehow mismatched (case?), they may be sorted incorrectly. If youre getting a mismatch that you think is wrong, run mp3ascd with default options to make sure that the enumerated list of files it finds is sorted correctly.
To install, firstly make sure the script is executable.
I copy mine into a directory in my PATH, such as /usr/bin/. It should work on a multitude of platforms, but if it does not work on yours, please let me know.
Enhancements:
- Improved readability
- Summary reports (recursive), including non-matching directories
- ID3 tag presence info shown in full display mode

Apache::MP3::Resample 4.00

Apache::MP3::Resample 4.00

Apache::MP3::Resample can downsample MP3/FLAC/Shorten files during streaming. more>>
Apache::MP3::Resample can downsample MP3/FLAC/Shorten files during streaming.

SYNOPSIS

# httpd.conf or access.conf
AddType audio/shorten .shn .SHN
AddType audio/flac .flac

Alias /apache_mp3 /usr/share/libapache-mp3-perl

< Location /songs >
SetHandler perl-script
PerlHandler Apache::MP3::Resample
PerlSetVar CacheDir /var/cache/Apache::MP3
PerlSetVar AllowDownload no
PerlSetVar SortFields Album,Track,Title,-Duration
PerlSetVar Fields Track,Title,Artist,Album,Duration,Bitrate
< /Location >

Apache::MP3::Resample subclasses Apache::MP3::Playlist to allow the user to downsample audio files before streaming them. This allows users on slower connections to stream songs. When this module is installed, a menu of bitrates is presented in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The user can choose from one of the bitrates, or select a mode that performs no resampling. The selected bitrate is maintained in a persistent cookie so that resampling is performed whenever the user returns to the site.

This module requires a command-line MP3 encoder to resample and reencode the audio data. If not otherwise specified, Apache::MP3::Resample will try to use the Open Source Lame MP3 encoder. This utility is available at http://www.sulaco.org/mp3. Version 3.90 was used during the development of this module. Your results with other versions may vary.

When you install Lame (or the encoder of your choice), be sure to place it in a directory located in Apaches PATH so that the module can find them at run time. You may need to set the PATH environment variable during Apaches launch, or by explicitly adding a SetEnv directive to the Apache configuration file.

You should be aware that the decoding/reencoding process is CPU-intensive, and server performance may degrade as the number of simultaneous users increases.
