Lien Mp3 Player is a mp3 and audio cd player for GNU Linux console.
All you need is a Pentium 90 or faster computer (you can do mono output if you have slower computer), GNU Library 2.0 or above and ncurses 5.
The project was improved many many times by recommendation of users. Now it is even better than the one I have plan to do in the first place.

web mp3 player for xmms is a simple Web MP3 player based on XMMS and XMMS-Shell.

The project is useful if you have a Linux server attached to your stereo/home theater and you want to play MP3s easily via a Web interface.

A little playlist support is included. Important note: it is totally insecure, and should only by used in a limited environment.

Mp3blaster is an mp3 player for computers running a UNIX-like operating system, e.g. Linux, Free/Net/OpenBSD, etc. mp3blasters interface is entirely text based, thereby eliminating the need for a graphical environment like X-Windows.
This does not limit the way you can control the player whilst playing though; just like any graphical mp3 player, there are cd-style buttons like play, stop, pause, next track, etc.
While hardly anyone had ever heard of mp3 back in early 1997, I began to build up my own mp3 collection. As a Linux (text console) adept, I was heavily frustrated by the lack of a decent mp3 player. There was a (at the time) very popular command-line based mp3 player though, called splay. I figured I could use its mpeg decoding library and write my own interface in ncurses to control it. The plan was there!
Thinking about how to implement this interface, I also wondered why all mp3players had such plain playlist functionality! I like the ability to chuck a bunch of CDs in a multi-CD cd player, and then play the CDs in random order. In such a way that the cd player selects one of the five CDs at random, and then plays the entire disc. This continues, until all discs have been played. No mp3 player could do this, so I decided to add it to mine.
Enhancements:
- A parallel build bug was fixed. make -j now works.
- Dynamic screen resizing was implemented.
- A race condition that caused 100% CPU consumption at the end of each song was fixed.

This module enables to listen to mp3-streams according to certain security policies (enabled user). The mp3s do not have to be in the web-servers document root.
Main features:
- XHTML compliant.
- Admin interface allows you to change position, visibility and title of the stream playlist Box.
- You dont have to fiddle around with config files. Interface is provided to configure the paths etc., user access and reset the access counter.

- mp3-file names are not held in a database as the File/Directory names are used to create the displayed Songs, album titles etc. as mp3 tags extraction capabilities are not included in php by default.

Version restrictions:
- The software only searches through 2 Directory structures. It is meant to go through: $mp3dir/Artist-Name/Album-Name/mp3-files.mp3 It however detects files in the Artist-Directory and shows these accordingly. As I didnt use this function, I dont know what it looks like though.

MP3::Player::PktConcert is a Perl OO wrapper to John Seagulls C API to the Intel Pocket Concert.

MP3::Player::PktConcert is a Perl wrapper to John Seagulls C API to the Intel PocketConcert MP3 Player.

Jinamp is primarily a music shuffler for command line junkies. Jinamp runs in the background and does not require X or even a terminal.
A control program allows limited control over the playing (pause, next song, etc., but no seeking).
The actual playing is done by other programs, so it can be adapted for other purposes, such as shuffling video clips for advertising.
Enhancements:
- The control tools have been improved, in particular making once-off song requests possible.

copyplaylist2 is small script that copies the current playlist to a certain directory.

For use with mobile devices like mp3-players or usb-sticks. Can also be used to create a tree of directories for CD/DVD archiving.

mp3cleanup is used to tidy up various aspects of MP3 files, including filenames, ID3 tags, path, m3u playlists, and bitrate.
This is particularly useful for hardware MP3 players that sometimes have arbitrary limitations on the files they work (well) with.
It can operate on single files or on all the files contained in a directory.
Enhancements:
- The -k option was added to check MP3s for bad frames before processing.
- The -D option was added to increase search depth.
- The -b option was added to create DOS format .m3u playlists.
- The -C option was added to copy rather than move.
- The (experimental) -g option was added to set the genre.
- Type "list" or "l" to get a list of genre numbers.
- Support for Ogg Vorbis files was added.
- The default maximum filename length was reduced to 52 chars (for iRiver).
- eyeD3 is used as well as id3tag to set tags, since sometimes tags were left inconsistent.
