MySQL Activity Report 1.0.0
MySQL Activity Report is a valuable database tuning aid. more>>
MySQL Activity Report is a valuable database tuning aid.
The MySQL Activity Report package is a tool to help MySQL database administrators to collect several database parameters and variables. These collected values can be used for server monitoring or performance tuning purposes.
The most important component of the MySQL Activity Report is mysqlard. This daemon collects the data from a MySQL server and stores these values in a Round Robin Database.
The mysqlard package also contains example graphing, cron and php scripts. The cron scripts can be used to keep archives of the generated graphics and the php script shows the generated graphics and tries to give some tuning tips.

mod_daytime 0.01
mod_daytime Apache module is a RFC-867-compliant Daytime service. more>>
mod_daytime Apache module is a RFC-867-compliant Daytime service.
Multi Protocol Support is one of the most important new features in Apache 2: The server is able to handle other TCP network services than just HTTP. As an example, the default distribution of Apache 2 HTTPD contains the mod_echo module that implements the Echo protocol. This standard TCP service answers any request by returning its complete contents. As a result, it can be helpful in testing network connections.
Based on the source code of mod_echo, I have written the mod_daytime module. It implements the Daytime Service according to RFC 867. This service answers any request by sending the current date and time. The RFC doesnt specify a format; this implementation is using ctime(3).
It is usually recommended to create a virtual host that works as a Daytime server exclusively. You might configure it for TCP port 13 on which the Daytime Service listens by default. The configuration to achieve that looks like this:
# Listen on Port 13
Listen 13
< VirtualHost *:13 >
ProtocolDaytime On
< /VirtualHost >
The first thing you need to do, however, is compile the source code provided here. On a UNIX system where Apache 2 has been installed with DSO support, you can simply type the following command (as root):
# [/path/of/apache/bin/]apxs -cia mod_daytime.c
This will create the DSO file mod_daytime.so, copy it into the Apache installations /modules directory, and add the following directive for loading the module to httpd.conf:
LoadModule daytime_module modules/mod_daytime.c

Diplojuge project is a adjudicators toolkit for the Diplomacy game.
Diplojuge is a toolkit that can automate all of the actions of a judge in the Diplomacy game.
Contrary to certain existing programs, the tools are simple and usable on the command line. The most important software is the adjucator.
It reads the map, the positions of the pawns and centers, and the orders, and it prints the outcomes on standard output. This can make it possible to easily solve the orders on standard and electronic Diplomacy games.
There are also tools to draw maps with resulting positions and to allot countries to players.
Enhancements:
- Fixed critical bug in support when supporting squares with special coasts.
- Fixed a message bug in stand off when defending
- Typo in french messages

xmmstcl 1.1
xmmstcl lets you control XMMS playback, skip, pause, change the playlist, change skins. more>>
xmmstcl lets you control XMMS playback, skip, pause, change the playlist, change skins, and do everything else provided by the xmms_remote_* methods, which is almost everything from the standard user interface.
xmmstcl plugin also has some things not available there, such as "XMMS onchange" which lets your Tcl/Tk application know when something happens in the player. The companion "TkPlayer" has samples for the most important functions and will keep XMMS busy by generating random playlists with songs that you havent heard in a while.

Simba 0.8.4
Simba is file mirroring tool that allows a great deal of control over the mirrored content. more>>
Simba is file mirroring tool that allows a great deal of control over the mirrored content and, most importantly, more control over reporting. Simba project allows you to create Web pages with mirror status, RSS news feeds, Google sitemaps, and more.
There are many institution who offer mirroring services to the community. Most of them are using shell scripts to synchronize the content with the master servers. This approach has some major limitations:
- dificult maintainance
- no usefull reports
- no data presented to the final user
- and more
Simba, was created to get more control over the mirrored content and (the most important part) more control over the reports you can made using the mirrored content data.
Using simba, you can create web pages with mirrors status, rss news feeds, google sitemaps and, if you know some perl programming, everything you need and you think is useful for you and your company.
This website is dedicated to Simba. Here you will find usefull information about this software and usefull resources.
Enhancements:
- The max_files parameter was removed since it was a little confusing.
- max_transfered and max_deleted paramters have been added to GenHTML plugin.
- Also, MaxTransfered, MaxDeleted, and MaxLimits template parameters were added.
- Two new plugins were added: CheckLastUpdate (a small but useful plugin which gives you a list of outdated mirrors) and Metalink (a plugin which generates metalinks with the new content).
- The website was updated to reflect the new plugins and parameters.

Graph::ModularDecomposition 0.13
Graph::ModularDecomposition is a Perl module for modular decomposition of directed graphs. more>>
Graph::ModularDecomposition is a Perl module for modular decomposition of directed graphs.
SYNOPSIS
use Graph::ModularDecomposition qw(pairstring_to_graph tree_to_string);
my $g = new Graph::ModularDecomposition;
my $h = $g->pairstring_to_graph( ab,ac,bc );
print "yesn" if check_transitive( $h );
print "yesn" if $h->check_transitive; # same thing
my $m = $h->modular_decomposition_EGMS;
print tree_to_string( $m );
This module extends Graph::Directed by providing new methods related to modular decomposition.
The most important new method is modular_decomposition_EGMS(), which for a directed graph with n vertices finds the modular decomposition tree of the graph in O(n^2) time. Method tree_to_string() may be useful to represent the decomposition tree in a friendlier format; this needs to be explicitly imported.
If you need to decompose an undirected graph, represent it as a directed graph by adding two directed edges for each undirected edge.
The method classify() uses the modular decomposition tree to classify a directed graph as non-transitive, or for transitive digraphs, as series-parallel (linear or parallel modules only), decomposable (not series-parallel, but with at least one non-primitive module), indecomposable (primitive), decomposable but consisting of primitive or series modules only (only applies to graphs of at least 7 vertices), or unclassified (should never apply).

Inline-Support 0.44
Inline-Support is a Perl module created to support information for Inline.pm and related modules. more>>
Inline-Support is a Perl module created to support information for Inline.pm and related modules.
This document contains all of the latest support information for Inline.pm and the recognized Inline Language Support Modules (ILSMs) available on CPAN.
SUPPORTED LANGUAGES
The most important language that Inline supports is C. That is because Perl itself is written in C. By giving a your Perl scripts access to C, you in effect give them access to the entire glorious internals of Perl.
As of this writing, Inline also supports:
- C++
- Java
- Python
- Tcl
- Assembly
- CPR
- And even Inline::Foo!
Projects that I would most like to see happen in the year 2001 are:
- Fortran
- Ruby
- Lisp
- Guile
- Bash
- Perl4
SUPPORTED PLATFORMS
Inline::C should work anywhere that CPAN extension modules (those that use XS) can be installed, using the typical install format of:
perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install
It has been tested on many Unix and Windows variants.
Enhancements:

Spamfilter 2.02
Spamfilter is meant to be used via the .qmail files that the qmail mail system uses to control what to do with incoming emails. more>>
Spamfilter project is meant to be used via the .qmail files that the qmail mail system uses to control what to do with incoming emails. This program will give you the opportunity to control which mails you want to receive and which are to be thrown away.
It does this by checking if the mail is directly addressed or not, and then checking various configuration files to see what to do. The two most important files are .allow and .deny that should reside in your home directory.
.allow will let the addresses defined in it through even if they are not directly addressed. .deny will deny the addresses defined in it even if they have mailed you directly.
Sten Donslund has made a very interesting patch that will be made into a new version later.

phpreports 0.4.9
phpreports is a PHP report generator that uses XML report layout files to generate PHP code. more>>
PHPReports project started when I needed something to create some reports on the browser as replacement of those ones my company used to generate using tools like FoxPro, Visual Basic and all that m$ stuff you dudes know about.
I was starting PHP programming (still am) and was really excited about put all the info we need on the browser, but, no pain no gain, theres that kind of reports that needs to have grouping info, grouping break and all sort of grouping stuff including some operations like sum, max, min, average on group values. And printing !!! Breaking the report into pages to fit on the printer as the regular tools do.
It was perfectly possible using PHP, but a report is different from the other, and the customization of it using pure hand-made-code will take a time that I didnt, dont and wont have. So I decided to make it on a flexible way using XML files to make the report layout, creating PHP code to run it on the browser.
Now its easy to make reports - just define the report layout and put all the functions you want - simple, clean and easy. And the most important! Using this approach you can (I did) show your company that you dont need any other kind of software to make all the stuff you need (by, m$ stuff).
Enhancements:
- Added 3 JavaScript events: ONCLICK, ONMOUSEOVER and ONMOUSEOUT;
- Added the concept of input plugins. The first one convert the SQL query on a way it allows to show crosstab reports.

Poster blog 1.0.9
Poster blog is a software which allows you to create a blog without the need of a database. more>>
Poster blog is a software which allows you to create a blog without the need of a database: all you need is an hosting (even a free one) with PHP support, FTP access and you must be able to chmod files.
Posting is really easy, thanks to a nice web interface which makes no use of JavaScript, so you can use it also on old browsers or even textual ones. I wrote down a list of Poster powered blogs (really short, at the moment, but I hope it will grow soon).
Poster blog works on plain text files and doesnt require a database.
Main features:
- Posting, obviously :)
- Comments
- Trackbacks (recieve and send)
- Multiple authors. There are granular permissions to define exactly what an user can and cannot do
- Categories
- Permalinks for posts, comments, trackbacks, categories and also authors
- Modular and scriptable template. You can insert PHP code in the template, and that code will be executed on the fly. The template uses special entities (for example, is replaced with the title of the blog)
- RSS feed. Future versions will have also an Atom feed
Enhancements:
- The most important change is that the the spam filters were integrated into the core.
