mpodder is a simple command line based podcast receiving (podcatching) tool. mpodder is written in perl and should run quite happily on Linux, the BSDs etc.

The intent is for mpodder to be called from cron. It will notify the user of new content by email or a kdialog/xmessage popup. mpoddercan download only feed items from the last n days, and feeds can be brought up to date withouot having to download all old items (using the "catchup" command).

To see what feeds mpodder is currently looking at, use the listoperation:

If you provide a second parameter, the list will be filtered. All filteres in mpodder are using perl style regular expressions:

Adding feeds

Adding a feed to mpodder is simple, just use the add operation, followed by the URL of the feed:

% mpodder add http://lugradio.org/episodes.rss

Removing feeds

To remove a feed, use the remove parameter and a filter. All feeds matching the filter will be removed

% mpodder remove lugradio

Fetching feeds

Fetching everything (all new items in all feeds) is the default operation of mpodder. To do this simply omit any parameters on the command line:

% mpodder

You can specify a filter to only download feeds whose URL matches the filter:

% mpodder fetch lugradio

Catching up feeds

If youve just added a new feed, but dont want to download all the items in the feed, use the catchup operation. The parameter is a filter pm the URL of the feed:

% mpodder catchup lugradio

Checking what would be done

Most operations in mpodder can be simulated using the --pretend option. This is like -n in GNU make. Instead of actually doing the operation that is requested, a message is printed saying what would be done if the --pretend option were removed:

Getting more information on what mpodder is doing

The --verbose and --debug=n options can be used to make mpodder print out more information that usual about what it is doing. Nice for the curious. The parameter to --debug is an integer from 1 to 10.

I like Gnome and Gentoo so I decided to make my own distro and there it is.

DirectX support for Wine project enables DirectX 9 support for Wine, which is useful for games and 3D graphics.
DirectX support for Wine is a set of patches against Wine to implement DirectX 9. It allows modern games and 3D applications to run under Wine.

FLTK Sudoku is an implementation of the popular Sudoku game (sometimes called Number Place) based on the Fast Light Toolkit. FLTK Sudoku features an infinite number of games and four difficulty settings, from Easy to Impossible.

Sudoku (pronounced soo-dough-coo with the emphasis on the first syllable) is a simple number-based puzzle/game played on a 9x9 grid that is divided into 3x3 subgrids.

The goal is to enter a number from 1 to 9 in each cell so that each number appears only once in each column and row. In addition, each 3x3 subgrid may only contain one of each number.

At the start of a new game, Sudoku fills in a random selection of cells for you - the number of cells depends on the difficulty level you use. Click in any of the empty cells or use the arrow keys to highlight individual cells and press a number from 1 to 9 to fill in the cell. To clear a cell, press 0, Delete, or Backspace. When you have successfully completed all subgrids, the entire puzzle is highlighted until you start a new game.

As you work to complete the puzzle, you can display possible solutions inside each cell by holding the Shift key and pressing each number in turn. Repeat the process to remove individual numbers, or press a number without the Shift key to replace them with the actual number to use.

Sudoku is normally provided as part of the FLTK 1.1.x source code.

This is very a simple audio oscilloscope using OpenGL, GLUT, and ALSA. Distributed under a completely free license; this means you can do absolutely anything you want with this code. Id appreciate if you credit me where appropriate, though.

Controls are as follows:

Left mouse button: Pan
Mid mouse button: Move trigger
Right mouse button: Scale
Space bar: Start/stop recording
t: Toggle trigger mode (rising, falling, off)
p: Print data
Esc: Exit

When you print the plot data by pressing "P", two columns of text are printed to stdout. The first column is time, the second is amplitude. The easiest way to capture this data to a file is via the command line:

./glscope > data.csv

Since there is no interface to change the audio input device that is displayed, youll actually have to change some code if you want any other channel besides the default recording device. The important line in the code looks like this:

pcm_name = strdup("plughw:0,0");

I guess youll have to read about ALSA to figure out how to change that string.
