Free mobile java applications software for linux

Mobile Device Information project is a Java Swing application that provides desktop interface access to the WURFL (Wireless Universal Resource FiLe).
The WURFL contains information about the capabilities of a huge number of wireless devices.
The project has been created by me (Jim McLachlan), a software consultant specialising in Java projects for mobile devices (primarily J2METM clients with J2EETM back-ends).
Part of my consultancy work has been the "education" of clients to the limitations of the cross-platform nature of Java on mobile devices. I have regularly had to field questions like "Is the < mobile device > MIDP-1.0 or MIDP-2.0 compliant?" and "How many different MIDP-2.0 devices are there?".
As part of my recent web site development, where I intend to sell my J2ME applications, I found myself in need of some "rich content" that would be useful to consumers and not just developers. Hopefully, this tool will be useful to people wanting to know more about their devices.
Enhancements:
- This release finally resolves problems with the id pseudo-capability.
- Version 1.2 caused make/model data to be hidden; 1.2.1 fixed this, but added a bug which used the fallback instead of the current "id".

Java Tools is a lightweight integrated development environment for creating, compiling, and executing Java applications and applets.
Java Tools includes point and click access to the Java files, commands, and documents. It also includes a built-in text editor and user interface for the Java debugger.
It is intended for the new Java user who needs help getting started. Its also for the more experienced Java user who wants easy access to the Java commands and a text editor.
Main features:

- Point and click access to all commands for compiling (javac), archiving (jar), documenting (javadoc), executing (java), debugging (jdb) and disassembling (javap).

- Point and click creation of all files (Java, manifest and HTML) and directories (package).
- Point and click installation of distribution archive files (Java document, Java source code, Java Tutorial and Sun Tools).

Inline::Java lets you write Perl classes in Java and wrap/use existing Java classes. The project is an ILSM (Inline Language Support Module) for Java 2, and is part of the Inline family of modules.

Sun Java Platform Enterprise Edition (Java EE) is the industry standard for developing portable, robust, scalable, and secure server-side Java applications.

Building on the solid foundation of Java SE, Java EE provides Web services, component model, management, and communications APIs that make it the industry standard for implementing enterprise class service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Web 2.0 applications.

Sanaware Java Docking project is a library for managing the windows of a Java Swing application.
Main features:

Java-GNOME is a set of Java bindings for GNOME and GTK libraries, so GNOME applications can be written in Java.

libvte-java is implemented as a JNI layer that delegates the Java calls out to the underlying C library.

Installation:

The simplest way to compile this package is:

1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.

Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.

2. Type `make to compile the package.

3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.

4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.

5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.

JavaNativeCompiler (JNC) is a Java to native compiler. The project allows AOT (ahead of time) compilation of your Java applications. With JNC, you can create real standalone native binaries (.exe on Windows) which will no longer depend on a JRE.
This is especially useful when applications have to be deployed to end-users. All vexatious problems of deploying Java applications can be solved by compiling them to native. They will be:
- Easy to deploy
No JRE dependency. Most end-users dont know what they have installed.
No more problems on how to create an executable file out of a JAR or class file.
- Hard to decompile
Java can easily be decompiled. Native compilation will protect your source code.
- Run fast from the start
No more overhead for loading a JRE.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a couple of problems with AWT/Swing and XML.
- It also once again contains a version for Linux.
- The compiler binary downloads are smaller.
