gmms is a simple MMS-stream downloader based on mmsclient that works on both Windows and Linux.
MMS-streams are multimedia streams broadcasted on the Internet, following the MMS-protocol.
The simple explanation is that with gmms, you can save every kind of stream having mms:// at the start of the download URL to your hard-disk.
The stream can be and audio or video stream, as long as its URL starts with mms://.

libmms 0.3
libmms is a library implementing the MMS streaming protocol, used by most Windows Media streams. more>>
libmms is a library implementing the MMS streaming protocol, used by most Windows Media streams.
libmms library is used by the GStreamer MMS plugin, but is not tied to GStreamer or any other project.
LibMMS was created out of need for common library that would remedy current situation where each Free Software project maintains its own implementation of MMS protocol handling, creating unnecessary code and effort duplication and introducing feature disparity as not every bugfix gets into each of them.
It also addresses need for LGPL licensed code for that task, as every current implementation is licensed as GPL, thus knocking out many projects that do not use GPL themselves.
LibMMS is intended to be small and simple, being useful for any project that needs MMS handling functionality. It is constructed in such a way that allows plugging custom I/O implementation, thus being easy to integrate with custom framework, and providing a way to add timeouted or cancelable I/O etc.
LibMMS code is based on amazing work done by SDP guys (http://get.to/sdp) Without the specs theyve reverse-engineered, there wont be any free implementation of MMS handling today.
Enhancements:
- fix the recent security vulnerability in libmms. Thanks to Wesley J. Landaker, Martin Pitt and Matthias Hopf.
- Add http proxy functionality. Thanks to Daniel Rogers!

MiMMS 2.0.1
MiMMS project is designed to allow you to download streams using the MMS protocol and save them to your computer. more>>
MiMMS project is designed to allow you to download streams using the MMS protocol and save them to your computer, as opposed to watching them live. Similar functionality is available in full media player suites such as Xine and MPlayer, but MiMMS is quick and easy to use, and for the time being, remains a useful program.
Originally, MiMMS was forked directly from the last known version of mmsclient, which was for years unmaintained. MiMMS started with the following goals:
- Keep a working copy of "mmsclient" (now "MiMMS") maintained and working.
- Fix lots of the bugs that were in mmsclient
- Eventually extend the functionality of the program
With the current 2.x series, MiMMS shares no code with mmsclient, and actually does all of its MMS operations using libmms, a new library based off of the xine-improved mmsclient code, which is designed to allow multiple implementations of MMS clients without requiring a fragmented code base. At this point, MiMMS is freed from the details of the horrendous MMS protocol, and can focus on usability.

MMSlib 0.96
MMSlib is a PHP library for encoding, decoding, and sending MMSes. more>>
MMSlib is a PHP library for encoding, decoding, and sending MMSes.
In short it is the successor of SMS (Short Message Service) with the enhancements that you can not only send text but basically any content type your phone can handle such as images, text, videos, ring signals and audio clips.
With this library you can create messages and add multimedia parts such as JPEG, GIF, AMR, MIDI and so on. Messages received from phones can also be unpacked and attachments can be extracted.
The library also contains a limited MMS sending functionality that uses a HTTP service to send SMS:es.
You would probably have to change the actual implementation of the SMS sending to fit your way of sending SMS:es (if it is over serial port, to a real SMSC or through some other type of HTTP service).
This is all done with the three classes MMSDecoder, MMSEncoder and MMSNotifyer.

mmsrip is a program that allows you to save on your hard-disk the content being streamed by an MMS server.
mmsrip is a client for the proprietary protocol MMS://.
It actually saves to a file the content being streamed. Please remember that this is not intended for real use, its existence is only and must only be documentary.
Enhancements:
- This release introduces many improvements and bugfixes such as a workaround for recalcitrant MMS servers, a switch which enables debug output and the display of the ripping speed.
- You may also compile mmsripon Solaris, Cygwin, and Win32 now.

MMS Decoder 0.77
MMS Decoder provides a script for sending MMS messages to a Web page. more>>
MMS Decoder provides a script for sending MMS messages to a Web page.
MMS Decoder can receive MMS messages, decode them, and display them on a Web page. This is done by acting as an MMSC, which is a server to which MMS messages are sent.
The only requirement to get this to work is an internet connected webserver, with PHP support and a phone which can send MMS (some operators may have blocked all MMS servers except their own, and the application will not work with these).
When an MMS is sent, its usually sent to the operators MMSC, which notifies the reciever (by a binary encoded SMS) that she or he has an MMS to retrieve, then his or her phone connects to the MMSC server and fetches the MMS which has been made available on the server via HTTP. What my web application actually do is to pretend to be an MMSC, recieves the MMS, decodes it (its encoded as specified in the WAP-209-MMSEncapsulation-20020105-a and wap-230-wsp-20010705-a specifications) and then stores it.
The only thing you need to do to make this work on your phone, is to set the phones MMSC (may also be labeled Service Center, MMS Center, or MMS Server) to http://domain.com/mms/get.php, or something like that, and then start sending MMS messages. And best of all, it will not cost you like 20 cents which the phone operators charge, the only cost is what your operator charge for WAP access (usually a lot less than the MMS cost), since the MMS is sent over WAP.
MMS Decoder was first written as a school project, and therefore Ive written a very detailed report of the decoding mechanism. This is, how ever, written in swedish so it would not be useful to anyone who doesnt know swedish. You can grab the report here.
Enhancements:
- An installation script, which creates the database or/and the tables, was added.
- A phpMyAdmin dump of the database structure was added.
- The directory structure of the package was changed.

MMS Downloader 0.0.1
MMS Downloader provides a GUI to handle and save MMS streams to disk. more>>
MMS Downloader provides a GUI to handle and save MMS streams to disk.
mms-qt lets you save MMS streams (mms://) to your disk as files. It is based on mms_client.
There is a program on the Israeli TV which i like to watch, and recently ive found out that there is an official web site hosting video parts shown previously on TV, but they were all in mms format.
Not too long after, ive found the outstanding work major mms did. Major mms wrote both a plugin for xine to watch these streams, and a command line downloader. My little idea was to take his command line downloader and wrap it with a QT GUI. So i did it.
So assuming youve found an MMS stream youd like to store on your Hard Drive, all you have to do is download it and, to use it, simply type
$ mms-qt mms://...
When the stream is done, the "Done" button will be enabled. Pressing "Cancel" in the middle will stop the download but will still save the partial file.
Thats it, simple as that.

XMMPlayer is an input plugin for XMMS that allows you to play video files from within XMMS using MPlayer as a back-end. more>>
XMMPlayer is an input plugin for XMMS that allows you to play video files from within XMMS using MPlayer as a back-end. Easy, plain and simple. Just add the files you wish to play to the XMMS playlist and hit "play".
XMMPlayer currently detects AVI/MPEG, QuickTime, RealMedia, .BIN and ASF(WMV, WMA) files by identifying them using file-signatures ("magic"). OGG movies are detected by their extension (".OGM").
Please remember that is product is still in beta-stage and may not work on all systems and with all video files MPlayer supports. See the README section below for more info.
Main features:
- local file playback of AVI, MPEG, QuickTime and OGG movies using
- MPlayer
- playback of HTTP and MMS media streams (see below)
- Playback of (individual) VCD tracks or DVD titles (see below)
- Shows info (length, audio-(nit)rate / channels) in XMMS
- uses magic to detect AVI, MPEG, RealMedia and QuickTime movies (checks for .ogm extension to detect OGG movies, this to avoid MPlayer playing OGG sound files, which have the same magic identifier)
- pause and seek in files from within xmms
- Constant, skinned and dockable video window (can be turned off in options)

Streamsniff 0.03
Streamsniff is a small command line tool that sniffs network traffic for stream URLs. more>>
Streamsniff is a command line tool that sniffs network traffic for stream urls. I built it because I got tired chasing stream urls hidden behind loads of html and javascript.
Run it as root, fire up your browser and start the stream you want to "expose". Streamsniff detects the initiation of rtsp, mms, icy and http streams, and performs a backtrace on http traffic to detect "playlist"-urls (stream metafiles).
Sample output showing ICY, RTSP and MMS urls and their playlist urls:
ICY : http://212.92.28.98:2002/
: http://real1.radio.hu/BartokG2.ram
RTSP: rtsp://rmlivev8.bbc.net.uk:554/farm/*/ev7/live24/6music/live/6music_dsat_g2.ra
: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/ram/dsatg2.ram
MMS : mms://wm05.nm.cbc.ca/cbcr2-toronto
: http://origin.www.cbc.ca/mrl2/livemedia/cbcr2-toronto.asx
Streamsniff is experimental. It runs on little-endian (Intel/AMD), Linux and Windows XP SP2. I want to be less specific about the platform. Help with ports (big-endian, FreeBSD) is appreciated.

GNOME Mplayer 0.4.7
GNOME Mplayer is a simple GUI for Mplayer. more>>
GNOME Mplayer project is a simple GUI frontend for Mplayer.
It is based heavily on the mplayerplug-in source code and can basically be seen as a standalone version of that. Currently it is a test bed for new methods of operation for mplayerplug-in and so it may be broken or lacking many features. I use it as my default viewer for media on my personal machine.
To set GNOME Mplayer as the default player for mms and rtsp protocols in Mozilla/Firefox add this to your prefs.js file
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.mms", "/usr/bin/gnome-mplayer");
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.rtsp", "/usr/bin/gnome-mplayer");
Or open the "about:config" location and create new string settings with the above values.

Mobile::Messaging::ParlayX 0.0.2
Mobile::Messaging::ParlayX is a Perl interface to ParlayX OSA. more>>
Mobile::Messaging::ParlayX is a Perl interface to ParlayX OSA.
SYNOPSIS
use Mobile::Messaging::ParlayX;
Mobile::Messaging::ParlayX is an interface to ParlayX web service by Sony Ericsson for SMS and MMS messaging, among other things. This being a Web Service SOAP::Lite would probably be better suited to the task, but I decided to stick with LWP::UserAgent, HTTP::Request and XML::LibXML until things in SOAP::Lite stabilize (it is currently under rewrite as far as I know) and I have more time (not that this will happen anytime soon).
Besides, I cannot fully grasp ParlayX just yet, thanks to inadequate documentation and JAVA only code samples for it. Anyway, you need LWP::UserAgent, HTTP::Request and XML::LibXML for this module to work. Most are in the standard distribution already, but any of them are available at your local CPAN mirror.
I tried not to stray too far off the ``native JAVA names of methos and properties, but chances are some differences exist.
