American Political Science: Campaign Simulator project is a statistically based political campaign simulation game.
The Campaign Simulator is an attempt to statistically model and predict the outcome of an American presidential election.
Several users assume the roles of competitive candidates and inflict the repercussions of certain decisions on a GSS-based dataset.
The application is written in Java and supports all operating systems with a Java 1.5 VM.
Main features:
- Time is not the only limiting variable. In fact, time may not be the proper limit as most operations may be performed in tandem; an economic system that allows fund raising elements should be implemented.
- The current choices all utilize the same dataset algorithm to effect the populace in similar ways- this set of scripts should be broadened and deepened as they are too high level.
- The Python Architecture needs polishing- the internal IDE is not complete, and the ability to assign scripts to run at differing points in the lifetime of the application has yet to be created.
- The installer should place links on the desktops of Mac and Unix/Linux Systems.
- Some of the small features planned, such as a GUI for dialog creation, have been cut for the deadline and should be added.

FreeMED is a Web-based medical records (EMR) and patient management system with a printing system, patient scheduling, an HL7 interface, a billing system, XML-RPC Web services, and many other features.

It has an extensible modular architecture, allowing it to be customized based on individual practices without having to rewrite core components of the system. It is HIPAA compliant.

FreeMED LiveCD 0.1 is based on the Kubuntu 5.04 (Hoary) Live CD.

VAS Apps consists of FTP, RSH/RCP, TELNET clients and servers packaged for VAS-enabled platforms. These tools give users the benefits of single sign-on for the more traditional remote access tools.

This software is derived from the apps component of Heimdal Kerberos.

Homemade Dictionary is a customizable and easy to use dictionary, with features including background music support.
Homemade Dictionary has a built in "Test Your Word Power Game", a medical dictionary, and a nice GUI.
The dictionary has an initial database of of around 5600 words, including slang. You can add your personal words on the fly. It is very small in size (only 637 KB).

CCFlauncher is the meta-tool for starting and joining a CCF collaborative computing session. With CCFlauncher you can invite your colleagues/friends to join you in a shared X windows virtual desktop with multiparty audio conferencing, white board, and file sharing in just a few mouse clicks. In this setting, participants interact with each other, simultaneously access and operate computer applications, refer to global data repositories or archives, collectively create and manipulate documents or other artifacts, perform computational transformations, and conduct a number of other activities via telepresence. Research issues addressed in this project include problem solving environments and methodologies for laboratory and instrument-based scientific disciplines, and computer science issues in heterogeneous distributed systems. New approaches are being investigated and developed for fast multiway communication, robust geographically distributed data management methodologies, high-performance computational transforms inlined within collaboration sessions, and related auxiliary issues such as active documents, security, archival storage, and experiment management and control.

The main goal of CCF is to enable the construction of efficient and flexible collaborations. Although we expect that CCF will be useful in a number of scenarios, a guiding principle in its design was to identify and meet the needs of natural science investigators with a diverse set of computing, instrument interfacing, and collaboration requirements. Thus, the primary target domain for CCF is collaborative research in chemistry, physics, and biochemistry, and closely related areas. Research methodology in laboratory and instrument based sciences is increasingly dependent upon computation, interaction, visualization, and data storage/retrieval. The CCF project is investigating and developing innovative enabling technologies to support collaborative, distributed, computer-based problem solving in the natural sciences. The goal is to evolve a virtual environment for distributed computing that integrally supports human AV communication, high performance heterogeneous computing, and distributed data management facilities. Computational transforms, instrument interfacing, data referral, visualization, and collaborative work in chemistry, physics, and biomedical fields will guide the development of methodologies and software tools to facilitate collaborative research.

Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit (MITK) is currently under active development, and aims at supporting the development of leading-edge medical imaging software with a high degree of interaction. It combines vtk, itk and the pic-based-libraries of the Div.
Main features:
- multiple, consistent views on the same data. For example, when you have three orthogonal 2D-views and a 3D view and data consisting of a green surface, the surface will be visible and green in all views (as contour lines in 2D, as a surface in 3D), and when you move the surface, it will move in all views. When you try to realize this with basic vtk, you will need to coordinate the position/orientation/color/... of all the views somewhere in your program - exactly this can mitk do for you.
- interactions that create and/or modify data (not only actors as in basic vtk)
- complex interactions with multiple states, e.g., for interaction with active contours
- undo/redo of interactions
- organization of data objects in a tree at run-time, e.g., to represent logical dependencies (e.g., a heart cavity is a part of the heart) or to control the rendering process
- additional properties of arbitrary type can be assigned to data objects contained in the data tree
- visualization and interaction with 3D+t data (basic vtk can handle only 3D data and itk is not for visualization and interaction)
- although mitk is mainly a toolkit and not an application, it offers some support on the application-level, e.g, for structured combination of modules (so-called functionalities), e.g., for combining and switching between one functionality for segmentation and another for registration.

- Support for ITK 2.4-2.8, VTK 4.4 and 5.0.
- Lots of bugfixes and improvements, e.g. interaction for rotatable slices.

Diagnotep is an affliction search engine to help diagnose medical problems. Diagnotep project works in the mozilla browser, it might not work properly in other browsers. This is version 2007.1. To run the entire engine on your machine for a faster search, unzip the health archive into a folder and then open the file "health_diagnotep.html" with a browser.

The program is under the GPL license which basically welcomes you to copy or modify this and allows anyone else to copy or modify your version if you make it public. The program searches among the symptoms of a medical database, so the results will only be medical afflictions. There are about 1,800 afflictions in the database, so no matter how deep the search depth and how many symptoms are entered, there will be at most about 1,800 results. The links from the results page point to affliction pages which are either public domain government pages or GNU Free Documentation License pages.

The greatest advantage of the diagnotep search engine is that it searches only medical affliction pages, so the results are not cluttered with pages which are not about health. Another advantage is that the program searches only the symptom part of the affliction pages, so the results are not cluttered with unrelated medical pages. The greatest disadvantage of diagnotep is that it searches a medical database which is large, but incomplete; it does not include all the medical pages on the internet. Another disadvantage is that diagnotep has a size of about 200 kilobytes and so takes about 30 seconds to load on a 56k dialup modem.

Diagnotep development is ongoing and in the future it is hoped that there will be expanded treatment sections for common afflictions, that more afflictions will be added to the medical database and that the 200 kB size of the diagnotep script will be reduced for faster loading.

Nemerle is a high-level statically-typed programming language for the .NET platform. It offers functional, object-oriented and imperative features. Nemerle project has a simple C#-like syntax and a powerful meta-programming system.
Features that come from the functional land are variants, pattern matching, type inference and parameter polymorphism (aka generics).
The meta-programming system allows great compiler extensibility, embedding domain specific languages, partial evaluation and aspect-oriented programming.
Enhancements:
- This version includes, among other things, support for extension methods, nullable types, and improved support for building with MS Build.
- It also has fixes for many bugs.
