TCP Re-engineering Tool 1.4.3

TCP Re-engineering Tool 1.4.3

TCP Re-engineering Tool monitors and analyzes data transmitted between a client and a server via a TCP connection. more>>
TCPreen is a simple tool to monitor and analyze data transmitted between clients and servers through connection-oriented streams data such as a TCP sessions; it supports TCP over either IPv4 or IPv6. This tool focuses on the data stream (software/socket layer), not on the lower level transmission protocol as packet sniffers do.
TCPreen listens on a TCP port and wait for incoming connections to come in. Then, it forwards data sent by the connecting client to another server port (possibly on another computer) and forwards server responses back to the client.
TCPreen can display data on your console in real-time and/or save it to log files for later reference.There are various display formats.
While it was originally meant to help developers reverse-engineer TCP-based protocols, it can also be very useful to debug network server or client software or for a system administrator to monitor a TCP service.
Enhancements:
- libsolve/getaddrinfo.{c,h}, src/winstub.{c,h}:
- dirty kludge to resolve getaddrinfo & co at run-time
- so that tcpreen can still run on Windows 2000 and older.

American Political Science: Campaign Simulator 0.1

American Political Science: Campaign Simulator 0.1

American Political Science: Campaign Simulator project is a statistically based political campaign simulation game. more>>
American Political Science: Campaign Simulator project is a statistically based political campaign simulation game.
The Campaign Simulator is an attempt to statistically model and predict the outcome of an American presidential election.
Several users assume the roles of competitive candidates and inflict the repercussions of certain decisions on a GSS-based dataset.
The application is written in Java and supports all operating systems with a Java 1.5 VM.
Main features:
- Time is not the only limiting variable. In fact, time may not be the proper limit as most operations may be performed in tandem; an economic system that allows fund raising elements should be implemented.
- The current choices all utilize the same dataset algorithm to effect the populace in similar ways- this set of scripts should be broadened and deepened as they are too high level.
- The Python Architecture needs polishing- the internal IDE is not complete, and the ability to assign scripts to run at differing points in the lifetime of the application has yet to be created.
- The installer should place links on the desktops of Mac and Unix/Linux Systems.
- Some of the small features planned, such as a GUI for dialog creation, have been cut for the deadline and should be added.

Software Engineering Environment 0.07

Software Engineering Environment 0.07

Software Engineering Environment is an information manufacturing platform for software development. more>>
Software Engineering Environment (SEE) is frame for manufacturing information. It is implemented in sevlet and xml, and is used by the web-browser.
Software Engineering Environment (SEE) attempts to provide the information manufacturing platform for software development.
SEE is a free project, that is the author will provide all of its source code at the same time.
It runs in any servlet environment (The author merely verified in the Win and Linux environment), not using any special technique and needs no auxiliary program.
All of its data are saved in XML files, and need not database. (The future release will support the option of saving data, so that the user can select some free database, such as mysql, or commercial database to improve SEE speed.)
This means that the user can run SEE without any money. (Tomcat is a free servlet environment.)
User uses all SEE functions with the web-browser. So information sharing is very convenient.
SEE supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English now.( It will support any language if someone will translate.) User can switch to interfaces in different language at any time when SEE is running. And user can add language translations which will work at once.
The main body of SEE is a frame for information manufacturing. All information included in it can be costumed dynamically and all changes will get into effect immediately. This means that the user can modify or add her/his own information structure as will at any time.
SEE provides various predefined selections for information attributes, which correspond various predefined information manufacturing patterns. The user can focus on the information description when costuming information definition, and the system will implement the functions automatically. This is the core of SEE. Most functions of SEE are in this model.
The default information definition of SEE is the result that the author understands what is the Software Engineering.
Although the target of SEE is helping for software development, actually, user can use it to design any type information, such as book registering, personnel lists, and financial reports etc.
The speed of SEE is not bad. Reading and writing 20000 records needs no more than 1 second. At present, the sorting speed is 9 seconds for 5000 records. (The testing platform is 1.8G CPU and 256M memory)
Enhancements:
- The data interface to prepare supporting databases.
- The databases are not supported in this release.
- A new interface style "Beautiful Flowers".
- These flowers are photoed in parks in this year by the author.
- The author likes the honeybee who holds a flower in its mouth very much. It is the first cartoon figure by the author. It will appear when you save wrong data. :)
- The function of "Personal Message".
- User can only query the messages sent by and sent to herself/himself. And user can only remove the messages sent to herself/himself.
- After a user read a message sent to her/him, SEE will mark it as "have_read" automatically.
- The number of new arrived messages will be shown in the interface.
- The data privileges management
- When user "Remove All" or "Modify All", the "base conditions" will be checked at first. That is user can only do what she/he can do.
- The Password fields values can not be visited, except when the user, who owns the "Import" privilege to current data, exports the data.
- All the data structures of ACL tables are changed! Their keywords become the "Title". This will permit user define better ACL.
- And the "condition" in the ACL tables are implemented completely. Now any "SEE conditions" is valid.
- Snapshot for image file
- When list the data, a snapshot will be shown for the image files type, which may end with jpg/jpeg/gif/png.
- Data sorting concerned with langauges.
- Thus when sorting data in Chinese, the result is Chinese result.
- General users can not visit the "User" table! Then they can not fill in many data!
- This is a fatal bug! This means all former releases can not be used actually!
- Now all ACL tables are redesigned.
- When a new user is added without password, SEE will add some password itself! Then this new user can never login!
- This is another fatal bug!
- In the last English release, which is 0.06, the ACL data are in Chinese!
- So the English users can not use SEE at all~~
- This is still a fatal bug!
- The "Risk Items" in the table "Deviation Handling" is wrong defined.
- This will cause an error information when user clicks the "Select" button.
- The values of Password fields can be visited when query or export.
- Although the values are meaningless encoded codes, they are still security thread.
- When some quota marks in the key values, pages will report errors and the function buttons, such as Modify and Remove, can not act!
- This is because quota is also an element of web page.
- When the interface language changes, the language in audit records changes too!
- This is not permitted. Language of all data is determined when SEE is installed and can not change with interface!

Ask and Receive - Reciprocal Links 2.0

Ask and Receive - Reciprocal Links 2.0

full-featured Reciprocal Link management system in PHP more>> Ask and Receive? is a full-featured Reciprocal Link management system intended to be installed on any web site which provides PHP language support.
Ask and Receive? Increases quality traffic to your site with out any cost and without any gimmicks or SPAM. Links to your web site from other sites is the best way to get your web site top listed in search engines. In addition, having outgoing links from your site which link to noteworthy and top listed sites is considered by SEOs (Search Engine Optimizers) as another excellent method to increase your sites ranking. With Ask and Receive? you let visitors automatically add their own links to your site and then approve which links you want to accept. Also, with Ask and Receive? you can add outgoing links directly to your own site, and nudge those site owners to return the favor by linking to you. Ask and Receive? has been designed with enhanced Search Engine Optimization features. This means that the link pages that are set up on your web site will be highly visible to search engines such as Google and will help your overall page rank index and page visibility, and will do so using proper and acceptable methods, considered good-practice by Google and other search engines.
With Ask and Receive? you can wait for visitors to enter their requests for reciprocal links, or you can "nudge" a site by adding a link to them first. This is the "being nice first" feature, and allows you to rapidly add a set of high-caliber out-going links on your site while simultaneously "nudging" those site owners to return the favor by linking back to your site: and Ask and Receive? generates and then emails to these other site owners all the HTML code needed for your link.
Contains over 50 user editable features in the rl_vars.php file. This file can either be edited with a text editor, or, depending on the configuration of your ISPs installation of PHP, can be edited from the Ask and Receive? Admin menu. All source code provided

History links 1.3

History links 1.3

This class can be used to keep track of the pages navigated by a user, so it can generate back or next links. more>>
This class can be used to keep track of the pages navigated by a user, so it can generate back or next links providing a similar effect to the use of the Javascript history.go() function.
It uses sessions to store an array variable that holds the URL of each page of a site that the user accesses. It can limit the number of pages that are kept in the history array.
It may also ignore pages accessed with the POST method or with certain URLs based on options that define exclusion regular expressions. The class can generate links to go back to the last page or the first page that was recorded.
Enhancements:
- The class is completely changed.
- This release adds creation of several objects of a class, a predefined start page, an expanded list of exceptions, and the methods get_history_back, get_history_next, is_history_back (check back one page), is_history_next (check the next page), get_history_backs (go to the first page), get_history_nexts (go to the last page), and get_history_header (go to the previous and next pages using external parameters).
- It adds history "always", and has more compatibility with javascript:history.go() (no checking previous and next pages).
- New methods have been added for the manipulation of history "always".

Historical Event Markup and Linking Project 0_7.2-20060718

Historical Event Markup and Linking Project 0_7.2-20060718

Historical Event Markup and Linking project provides a means of coordinating and navigating disparate historical materials. more>>
Historical Event Markup and Linking project its providing the user with means of coordinating and navigating disparate historical materials on the internet.
It includes:
- an XML schema for historical events which describes the events participants, dates, location and keywords; the schema associates these with source materials in print or on the web.
- XSLT stylesheets that combine conforming documents and generate lists, maps and graphical timelines out of them.
Heml integrates these resources using the Cocoon2 web publishing engine.
Main features:
- An RDF export of some recent Japanese history.
- A timeline of Russia under Stalin (in Russian)
- An xhtml document about Beethoven, with heml:Event tags added, producing a sidebar for historical navigation
- An animated map of events pertaining to the study of the history of Greek medicine (currently requires Adobe SVG Plugin)
- A dynamic map of the career of Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz
- A table of events during the Meiji Restoration (in Japanese Unicode)
Explore the menus above these to change their view, language, font, base map, calendar, etc. Alternatively, follow one of the Local Documents links on the site sidebar to explore all the views on that document.
Use the schema to create your own Heml documents, download the Heml webapp, and serve your material as timelines, maps and historical tables.
The somewhat out-of-date Project Description introduces the ideas behind Heml and outlines the direction this project is heading. The fully documented XML schema is also available. You can use it to create your own Heml documents, download the Heml webapp, and serve your material as timelines, maps and historical tables.

Easy various links manager 0.10

Easy various links manager 0.10

Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit. more>>
Easy various links manager or Everest Linux Links Manager (evlinks) is a network manager and config toolkit that aims to replace network services and networkmanager.

Tthe design of evlinks:

1. use mac address as config file names to avoid interface name change.

2. multi profile support, for example, you can have a setting for Office and another setting for home.

3. never display info such as "eth0/wlan0/ath0" to users. what is the meaning of this strange words for normal user?

4. coupled loosely, if any component of evlinks crash or can not work, others works very well.

5. policy support: for example, whether start wired at booting time,whether start wireless at booting time,offline or online, if wired line unpluged, shall we switch to wireless?

The components of evlinks:

1. evlinkslo/evlinksboot:

run at system booting.
enable loopback and other interfaces according to config file.

2. evlinksiw, wireless config tool

3. evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksiw to handle multiple wireless adapters. if you only have one wireless adapter, it will start evlinksiw directly.

4. evlinksw, wired config tool, support multiple profiles.

5. evlinkswired, same as evlinkswireless, a wrapper for evlinksw to handle multiple wired adapter.

6. evlinksmonitor, a hal client to monitor the adapter changes. since it use hal, then we can catch the signal when new adapter plugged and removed.

7. evlinkstraffic, network traffic monitor. used in evlinksmonitor and evlinkspppoe.

8. evlinkspppoe, PPPoE clients, used to connect ADSL(no PPPoA support)

9. evlinksdispatcher and evlinksrun. dirty code to help normal user run it easily.that is to say, normal user use evlinksrun to call evlinks utils, they all run as super user. it is not a good design, also had security problem, need change later.

File::Spec::Link 0.080

File::Spec::Link 0.080

File::Spec::Link is a Perl extension for reading and resolving symbolic links. more>>
File::Spec::Link is a Perl extension for reading and resolving symbolic links.

SYNOPSIS

use File::Spec::Link;
my $file = File::Spec::Link->linked($link);
my $file = File::Spec::Link->resolve($link);
my $dirname = File::Spec::Link->chopfile($file);
my $newname = File::Spec::Link->relative_to_file($path, $link);

my $realname = File::Spec::Link->full_resolve($file);
my $realname = File::Spec::Link->resolve_path($file);
my $realname = File::Spec::Link->resolve_all($file);

File::Spec::Link is an extension to File::Spec, adding methods for resolving symbolic links; it was created to implement File::Copy::Link.

linked($link)

Returns the filename linked to by $link: by readlinking $link, and resolving that path relative to the directory of $link.

resolve($link)

Returns the non-link ultimately linked to by $link, by repeatedly calling linked. Returns undef if the link can not be resolved.

chopfile($file)

Returns the directory of $file, by splitting the path of $file and returning (the volumne and) directory parts.

relative_to_file($path, $file)

Returns the path of $path relative to the directory of file $file. If $path is absolute, just returns $path.

resolve_all($file)

Returns the filename of $file with all links in the path resolved, wihout using Cwd.

full_resolve($file)

Returns the filename of $file with all links in the path resolved.
This sub tries to use Cwd::abs_path via ->resolve_path.

resolve_path($file)

Returns the filename of $file with all links in the path resolved.

This sub uses Cwd::abs_path and is independent of the rest of File::Spec::Link.
