CORBA::omniORB::mapping is a CORBA mapping for Perl.

This document describes a mapping of the CORBA system into Perl. It sticks most closely to the mapping in the CORBA::MICO, L:< CORBA:omniORB >, and CORBA::ORBit modules; however, some reference is also made to the mappings implemented in COPE and ILU/Perl.

These systems exhibit a wide diversity in the details of their object adaptors. CORBA::MICO and CORBA::omniORB implement most of the POA specification fashion, including all activation modes. COPE implements a version of the BOA, and ILU has its own object native adaptor different from the BOA, though it implements some of the BOA specificatoin through compatibility classes.

For this reason, this document largely avoids specifying object adaptor details, except for a few specific notes. Details about the manner in which the ORB is initialized and interface definitions are loaded are also not specified here. Conformant implementations may either use conventional stubs or access interface definitions in a dynamic manner. (For instance, by loading them from an Interface Repository.)
The design goal for this mapping was to allow applications to access the complete CORBA specification from Perl in a convenient and concise manner, even when this requires sacrificing some amount of speed or convenience for the ORB implementor.

Currently OpenBlueLab use XML database (eXist) to persist data. This project was created to handle relational persistence using Hibernate. Hibernate is an object-relational mapping (ORM) solution.Using hibernate solution every relational database management system (RDBMS) can be used.
Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) Generators help to generate all mapping files from UML model using XMI format. Next we need to implement a mechanism to switch between XMLDB and RBDMS in OpenBlueLab easily.
Enhancements:

mod_alias is an Apache module for mapping different parts of the host filesystem in the document tree, and URL redirection.

The directives contained in this module allow for manipulation and control of URLs as requests arrive at the server. The Alias and ScriptAlias directives are used to map between URLs and filesystem paths. This allows for content which is not directly under the DocumentRoot to be served as part of the web document tree. The ScriptAlias directive has the additional effect of marking the target directory as containing only CGI scripts.

The Redirect directives are used to instruct clients to make a new request with a different URL. They are often used when a resource has moved to a new location.

A more powerful and flexible set of directives for manipulating URLs is contained in the mod_rewrite module.

Mindless project is a mind mapping tool.

OpenGTS (Open GPS Tracking System) was spawned from the need for a simple web-based platform that can provide GPS tracking for entry-level commercial enterprises, and demonstration environments, however OpenGTS is highly configurable and scalable to larger enterprises as well.
OpenGTS not only supports the data collection and storage of GPS Tracking and Telemetry data from remove devices, but also includes full-featured web-based authentication and GPS mapping support.
Main features:
- Web-based authentication: Users can log-in and view their own Account and Device information.
- Customizable web-page decorations: The top, bottom, and sides of each web-page can easily be customized to fit a specific motif.
- Customizable menu options: Customized menu options can be made available for specific requirements.
- Customizable mapping service: OpenGTS comes installed with a working Google Maps interface, however, other mapping service provides can easily be integrated with minimal effort.
- GPS tracking device independent: While some coding will be necessary, OpenGTS can be integrated to work with any available remote GPS tracking device.
Enhancements:
- This release includes support for addition GPS tracking devices and full Sendmail support including user authentication and SSL.
- Account users can now be administered from the Web interface UI, including specification of user access control lists.

PrimaGIS project is a collaborative Web mapping application for Plone that is built on top of Python Cartographic Library (PCL), MapServer, and Cartographic Objects for Zope (ZCO).
In addition to supporting traditional spatial data sources (e.g. shapefiles, PostGIS databases, raster images, and WMS/WFS services), it allows users to combine data from a content management system (Plone) within the maps.
Enhancements:
- Updates were made for changes in ZCO 0.7.1.
- The bundled libraries were updated.
- simplejson is now used instead of json-py.
- A scale bar was added.

Cheops-ng is a Network management tool for mapping and monitoring your network. It has host/network discovery functionality as well as OS detection of hosts. Cheops-ng has the ability to probe hosts to see what services they are running. On some services, cheops-ng is actually able to see what program is running for a service and the version number of that program.

Differences between Cheops and Cheops-ng:

In cheops-ng the -ng stands for Next generation giving rise to a spinoff or newly developed version of cheops
Cheops is a GUI program whereas cheops-ng has a backend server that is running all of the time. The GUI for cheops-ng just loggs into the server to use the servers functions, like OS detection and mapping.
Cheops-ngs and Cheops functionality only differ in that cheops-ng does not have monitoring capabilities yet.
Last but not least It is being worked on (ie. people are developing it and supporting it, whereas cheops is not being developed on nor supported).
