Free mailserver virus software for linux

Milter-virus is not a virus scanner. It is a wrapper that can be used with many commercial and freely available virus scanners. Milter-Virust is written completely in C, and requires (few skills??).
It is run-able with the Milter interface, but then will only scan for "double extensions".
If you wish it to scan for more, you need at Ripmime or other tools to extract files from MIME-encoded emails. You also need a (command-line) virus scanner.
The difference between this program and the original is that this is much more configurable via the config file. The original version has the advantage that it is simpler and easier to bugfix.
Enhancements:

MailScanner is an email virus scanner, vulnerability protector, and spam tagger. It supports the Postfix, Sendmail, Exim, Qmail, and ZMailer MTAs, and the Sophos, McAfee, F-Prot, F-Secure, CommandAV, InoculateIT, Inoculan, eTrust, Kaspersky, Nod32, AntiVir, BitDefender, RAV, Panda, DrWeb, ClamAV, and other anti-virus scanners.

MailScanner uses SpamAssassin for highly successful spam identification, and is designed to handle denial of service attacks. It will detect password-protected zip files and apply filename checking to their contents.

It is very easy to install, requires no changes at all to your sendmail.cf file, is designed to be lightweight, and wont grind your mail system to a halt with its load. It can be integrated into any email system, regardless of the software in use.

EmailScan scans incoming multipart email for bad file types, filenames, and virii using procmail.

EmailScan is yet another scanner for e-mail. Now, why did I write my own and not use one of the others that are available. First of all, I have always used my own and second of all I
wanted something that was a bit more flexable, expandable, and portable.

Although EmailScan uses bash, it should work with ksh just as well. If always attempts to NOT use any gnu specific switchs on the utilities used. My goal is to make EmailScan work on any platform that has a virus scanner available for it.

Another feature that I found lacking (in my eyes) was how restrictive more scanner "wrappers" are. Which is why I have broken off quite a bit of the fuctions in emailscan-libs. This will allow adminstrators that have a better way, to add it to the script in a faily simple way (and hopefully share it with us). While I will be working hard to provide strong baseline projection, I obviously am not the end-all-be-all of e-mail virus projection, so why not make it EASY to contribute.

Installation is done now completely by hand, but isnt too painful.
Basically, make sure you have the following programs installed:

find
file
grep
formail
procmail

and a virus scanning package (I currently us uvscan from Network Assoc.).

Pick a place to install it. (I choose /etc/emailscan)
Modify emailscan.conf. Make sure you have the directories, file locations, and options of the virus scanner.
Install /etc/procmailrc
Make sure sendmail is using procmail as the local delivery agent. This is pretty much the default install for sendmail at this time. If you are not using it, I highly recommend that you do.

gadoyanvirus is a virus checker for qmail that works with the QMAILQUEUE patch by Bruce Guenter. gadoyanvirus scans incoming messages using the ClamAV anti-virus library.

Suspected messages are quarantined and a notification message can optionally be sent to the recipients.
