Enterprise File Exchange (EFX) slots in where email file attachment limits stop your users from sending those important files to a contact.

In the EFX world, the user visits the EFX site, uploads the file, enters the receivers email address and lets the system notify the receiver that theres a file waiting for them, via a simple email message.

Senders need to sign up, and the EFX system only allows transfers between internal users (those with addresses in an approved list) and external users, never external to external.

It is written in Python, using the Pylons framework.

This project is licensed under the GNU GPL version 3.

Evolution Exchange 2.27.3

Evolution Exchange 2.27.3

Evolution Exchange is the Ximian Connector for Microsoft Exchange. more>>
Evolution Exchange 2.27.3 is professionally designed as the Ximian Connector for Microsoft Exchange, which adds support for Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 to Evolution. Evolution provides integrated mail, addressbook and calendaring functionality to users of the GNOME desktop.

Installation:

  1. cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself. Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
  2. Type `make to compile the package.
  3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
  4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
  5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.

OpenChange 0.4

OpenChange 0.4

OpenChange is an implementation of Microsoft Exchange under Unix platforms. more>>
Openchange project intends to provide an Open-Source implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 under Unix Platforms.
The Openchange Project is developed in C language under the BSD license, and will primary work on NetBSD, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and Linux platforms. The project time line has been defined to approximatively one year, and we believe the project will be in a complete stable state at this time.
Openchange wishes to integrate the enterprise working environment and to substitute to an Exchange Server in a transparent way, so final users may continue to use Outlook, or any other mail client.
We also intend to provide to network administrators an easy solution to migrate Exchange databases into Openchange ones and reversely. And last but not least, we work so developers may reuse our sources in a smart way.
The project is divided into 4 parts :
- The OpenChange Library
- The OpenReverse Library
- The Documentation Framework
- The Openchange specifications
The OpenChange Library
This library includes all the requests managing the identification process, the data flow, and all the other requirements needed to permit the communication between an Outlook client and an Exchange Server. It can be used either to develop another Exchange-like server or client.
The OpenReverse Library
Due to legal restriction, the Openchange Server wont reuse the Microsoft Jet Database file format. Instead, we provide a library making easy to parse headers, retrieve the data, calculate checksum and more generally to offer a abstract migration tool to other user defined backends. This library can also be used for basics to develop a repair database tool.
The Documentation Framework
In the documentation framework, you will find all our research results. The subjects may concern the Exchange Internals or treat of a related subject. We wants to provide the most valuable information so our work can be shared with developers community.
The OpenChange Specifications
At last, we will provide the complete specifications of OpenChange in a printable way. This major document of the OpenChange team will help new developers to understand how Exchange Server works, how we implemented our APIs to make OpenChange, Exchange compatible. Around this main development, you will find several modules:
- OpenUtils Library
- OpenSniff
- OpenEDB
Enhancements:
- This release fixes limitations from the previous release (0.2) and adds a set of new features.
- Sending email messages to external recipients is now possible.
- It can also fetch and create appointments, contacts, and tasks in their respective default folder.
- Experimental NEWMAIL notification support is also available.
- The openchangeclient command line messaging tool has been improved and exchange2mbox has been introduced.
- It provides a way to synchronize an Exchange mailbox with an mbox file, supports MIME types, and is able to reflect changes back to Exchange.

Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse is a system of clients and servers that collect and count checksums related to mail messages. more>>
Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse, in short DCC, is a system of clients and servers that collect and count checksums related to mail messages. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject bulk mail.
DCC servers can exchange common checksums. The checksums include values that are "fuzzy", or constant across common variations in bulk messages.
Enhancements:
- This release improves the dccifd per-user whitelist default.
- It fixes the server database size estimate.
- Old installations really should upgrade to get the MIME decoding fix.

Advene 0.23

Advene 0.23

Advene is aimed at providing a model and a format to share annotations about digital video document. more>>
Advene (Annotate Digital Video, Exchange on the NEt) is an ongoing project in the LIRIS laboratory (UMR 5205 CNRS) at University Claude Bernard Lyon 1. The project aims at providing a model and a format to share annotations about digital video documents (movies, courses, conferences...), as well as tools to edit and visualize the hypervideos generated from both the annotations and the audiovisual documents.
Teachers, moviegoers, etc. can use them to exchange multimedia comments and analyses about video documents. The project also aims at studying the way that communities of users (teachers, moviegoers, students...) will use these self-publishing tools to share their audiovisual "readings", and to envision new editing and viewing interfaces for interactive comment and analysis of audiovisual content/
Main features:
- At the package creation level : annotation of audiovisual documents (association of typed information to temporal fragments), creation of visualisation means (views).
- Exchange of annotations and visualization modes in packages independently from the audiovisual material (images and sounds). If needed for the visualization of the data, pictures and sound clips can be extracted from the digital video support (e.g. file, DVD). The user of the data is then required to possess the video to take full advantage of the analysis and comments.
- At the package use level : visualisation of augmented movie (the annotations are used to display supplementary information on the video, to control the playing of the video, to navigate the video), visualisation of hypertext documents constructed from annotation and AV material, use of ad-hoc views (e.g. timeline view).
Enhancements:
- This release features a new customizable GUI layout, quick search functionality, usability enhancements in the timeline view, and a number of improvements and bugfixes.

SysExxer is a small utility to exchange system exclusive data with MIDI devices like synthesizers or effects processors. more>>
SysExxer is a small utility to exchange system exclusive data with MIDI devices like synthesizers or effects processors. It is free software brought to you under terms and conditions of the GPL.

SysExxer is provided as is and in the hope it is useful for you, but without any warranty. If you use it, you use it at your own risk and responsiveness. Be careful to not delete your killer sound you have worked on several hours, or set your device in undefined states. Both is possible using SysExxer!

SysExxer can contain bugs, so when you use SysExxer for doing backups of the contents of your MIDI-devices, ensure that the resulting files have been properly transmitted, e.g. by sending the content back to the device and testing if everything is OK.

SysExxer is based on KDE, so for using it youll need at least KDE 3.1 installed.

Fetchmail 6.3.8

Fetchmail 6.3.8

fetchmail is a free, full-featured, robust, well-documented remote-mail retrieval utility. more>>
Fetchmail is a full-featured, robust, well-documented remote-mail retrieval and forwarding utility intended to be used over on-demand TCP/IP links (such as SLIP or PPP connections). Fetchmail supports every remote-mail protocol now in use on the Internet: POP2, POP3, RPOP, APOP, KPOP, all flavors of IMAP, ETRN, and ODMR. It can even support IPv6 and IPSEC.
Fetchmail retrieves mail from remote mail servers and forwards it via SMTP, so it can then be read by normal mail user agents such as mutt, elm(1) or BSD Mail. It allows all your system MTAs filtering, forwarding, and aliasing facilities to work just as they would on normal mail.
Fetchmail offers better security than any other Unix remote-mail client. It supports APOP, KPOP, OTP, Compuserve RPA, Microsoft NTLM, and IMAP RFC1731 encrypted authentication methods including CRAM-MD5 to avoid sending passwords en clair. It can be configured to support end-to-end encryption via tunneling with ssh, the Secure Shell.
Fetchmail can be used as a POP/IMAP-to-SMTP gateway for an entire DNS domain, collecting mail from a single drop box on an ISP and SMTP-forwarding it based on header addresses. (We dont really recommend this, though, as it may lose important envelope-header information. ETRN or a UUCP connection is better.)
Fetchmail can be started automatically and silently as a system daemon at boot time. When running in this mode with a short poll interval, it is pretty hard for anyone to tell that the incoming mail link is not a full-time "push" connection.
Fetchmail is easy to configure. You can edit its dotfile directly, or use the interactive GUI configurator (fetchmailconf) supplied with the fetchmail distribution. It is also directly supported in linuxconf versions 1.16r8 and later.
Fetchmail is fast and lightweight. It packs all its standard features (POP3, IMAP, and ETRN support) in 196K of core on a Pentium under Linux.
Fetchmail is open-source software. The openness of the sources is your strongest possible assurance of quality and reliability.
Main features:
- STARTTLS is supported in both POP and IMAP.
- ESMTP AUTH (RFC 2554) is supported.
- Has the capability of adding trace information to the Received header to faciliate mail filtering by mailserver and remote account.
- Fetchmail now has options to handle SSL certificate validation.
- Fetchmail can be told to fall back to delivering via local sendmail if it cant open port 25.
- Support for AUTH=CRAM-MD5 under POP3, a la RFC2195.
- Support for ODMR (On-Demand Mail Relay), RFC 2645.
- Its now easy to deliver mail to a local LMTP socket.
- The interface option now checks both local and remote interface IPs.
- The plugin facility has been enhanced; %h and %p options are now available to pass in the hostname and service port number.
- Added a dropdelivered option to discard Delivered-To headers. This addresses a problem with using fetchmail and postfix as a relay inside a domain; when postfix sees incoming messages with delivered-to headers looking exactly the same as the ones it adds himself, it bounces the message.
- Added --smtpname to set username and domain portion of SMTP "RCPT TO" command. - Added "from" servers IP address to inserted Received line.
- Fetchmail now runs on BeOS, thanks to David Reid .
- In IMAP, unseen-message counting and indexing is now done by SEARCH UNSEEN at the beginning of each poll or re-poll (rather than with the UNSEEN and RECENT responses and FLAGS queries on individual messages). This significantly cuts down on traffic to and from the server, and gives more reliable results.
- The aka option now matches hostname suffixes, so (for example) saying `aka netaxs.com will match not just netaxs.com but also (say) pop3.netaxs.com and mail.netaxs.com.
- Fetchmail can optionally use the RFC 2177 IDLE extension on an IMAP server that supports it. On IMAP servers that dont, it can simulate it using periodic NOOP commands.
- Fetchmail now recognizes the RFC 2449 extended responses [IN-USE] and [LOGIN-DELAY].
- Fetchmail running in daemon mode now restarts itself quietly when the rc file is touched.
- Following recent court decisions and changes in U.S. federal regulatory policy, hooks for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) are now part of the main fetchmail distribution. The distribution still contains no actual cryptographic code.
- NTLM support under IMAP, so fetchmail can query Microsoft Exchange servers.
- Expunge option can now be used to break POP3 retrieval into subsessions.
- Support for AUTH=CRAM-MD5 under IMAP, a la RFC2195.

PHPwebmail 2.3

PHPwebmail 2.3

PHPwebmail is a PHP4 based IMAP Webmail Client. more>>
PHPwebmail is a Web-based IMAP and SMTP mail client. Often it is not possible to make outside mail connections from networks behind strict firewalls, or to configure a regular mail client (for example in an Internet cafe).

With PHPwebmail a mail client only needs a WWW connection to the mailserver. Specifically it only needs a connection to the webserver hosting PHPwebmail.

Most of the times the Web and mail server will be the same machine but PHPwebmail can connect to other mailservers as well as long as an IMAP connection between these two machines is allowed.

After the converter I developed ages ago for Dashboard, I needed something to help me grasp quickly the prices in foreign currencies displayed on the web site I visited.

I therefore started to develop my first greasemonkey script to have Firefox do that automatically.

Yahoo! Finance Currency Converter is not the first one around, I particularly like that one, but for the exercise, I wanted to develop mine using Yahoo! Finance exchange rates.

Geometry Description Markup Language 2.9.0

Geometry Description Markup Language 2.9.0

Geometry Description Markup Language workpackage is primarly ment to provide geometry data exchange format for the LCG apps. more>>
Geometry Description Markup Language (GDML) workpackage is primarly ment to provide geometry data exchange format for the LCG applications. The workpackage consists of the GDML Schema part, which is a fully self-consistent definition of the GDML syntax and the GDML I/O part which provides means for writing out and reading in GDML files.
The GDML Schema does not depend in any way on the GDML I/O packages. In particular, new extensions to the GDML I/O packages can be implemented (interfaces to new application, like for instance visualisation, editors, etc), while the GDML Schema definition remains unchanged.
Enhancements:
- The loop machinery was improved so that any volume can be used in a loop.
- An installation script was added along with support for auxiliary volume information.
- A SimpleExtension example that shows how to extend GDML with custom elements was added.
- The obsolete PyGDML package was removed.
