mailman-pop3d provides a POP3 interface to GNU Mailman for the purposes of deleting spam. more>>
mailman-pop3d provides a POP3 interface to GNU Mailman for the purposes of deleting spam which is stuck in the administrative requests queue.
If you manage a large Mailman mailing list, and are tired of using the web interface to discard spam, this script may be for you.
This software should be considered to be in beta stage; bugs are possibly present, and bug reports would be very much appreciated. At this point, I would also be very interested in hearing about success stories.
Enhancements:
- Improved logging messages.
- Development status changed from alpha to beta.

Mailman listadmin 2.37
listadmin is a command-line alternative to Mailmans Web interface for administering mailing lists. more>>
listadmin is a command-line alternative to Mailmans Web interface for administering mailing lists.
Mailman has a friendly but rather awkward web interface for manipulating the queue of messages held for moderator approval. Since I maintain a couple of dozen lists, some of which receive 50+ spams per day, I needed a way to reduce the time taken to process all the junk e-mail.
The result was listadmin. It is designed to keep user interaction to a minimum, in theory you could run it from cron to prune the queue. It can use the score from a header added by SpamAssassin to filter, or it can match specific senders, subjects, or reasons. The configuration file is Notepad.exe friendly. A sample configuration file:
password "Geheim"
# action to take when pressing just Return default discard
# discard automatically anything with SA score higher than 6 spamlevel 6
discard_if_from ^(postmaster|mailer(-daemon)?|listproc|no-reply)@
my-favourite-band@ifi.uio.no
spectroscopy-discuss@lister.ping.uio.no
You cant make a screenshot of a program like this, but a sample session may be instructive. See the manual page for the whole story. The script is written in Perl and requires a few modules, but AFAIK they are all bundled with Perl 5.8.0.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes the use of proxies for HTTP, adds the capability of turning nomail on or off from the command line, and improves interoperability with Mailman 2.1.x.
- Unknown character encodings are also handled more gracefully.

Slauth 0.02
Slauth is a Perl-based authentication and authorization module for Apache HTTPD 2. more>>
Slauth is a Perl-based authentication and authorization module for Apache HTTPD 2. Slauth project has a plugin architecture. The main plugin initially available allows subscribers of specific Mailman mail lists to self-register for authenticated web site access.
This code has been in operation since Spring 2004. But documentation is currently needed.
HISTORY
Slauth was originally developed for use by Stratofox, an amateur aerospace tracking and recovery team. (Sometimes this has also been called "nearspacecraft hunting".)
The ability to have users self-register based on Mailman mail list subscriptions resulted mostly from discussions with two rocket-building groups that Stratofox works with. The rocket-builders parted paths and didnt want each others private information available to the other. At the time both were nearly ready to attmept the first non-government space launch. After some discussion, this capability was developed by Stratofox during the search for an acceptable method to continue to
work with both groups and continue to participate in their launches.
INSTALLATION
Note: instead of using ExtUtils::MakeMaker, the installation process is based on Module::Build (which is intended to supersede it.) The process is similar, using Build.PL instead of Makefile.PL and our own generated Build script (made by Build.PL) instead of your systems make command.
To install this module type the following:
perl Build.PL
Build
Build test
Build install

Plagger 0.7.11
Plagger is a pluggable RSS/Atom feed aggregator written in Perl. more>>
Plagger is a pluggable Atom/RSS feed aggregator written in Perl.
Everything is implemented as a small plugin and you can mash them up together using Plagger core API and plugin hooks.
You can think of Plagger as a blosxom or qpsmtpd for RSS aggregator.
Plagger comes with various plugin API hooks so that third-party plugins can extend:
Subscription (Bloglines, Google Reader, My Yahoo!, OPML)
Custom Feed (mixi, Mailman, Google News)
Filter/Tag Content (del.icio.us, Technorati, URLBL, FeedBurner)
Smart Feed (Tag, Rating, Enclosure)
Widget on output (del.icio.us, Digg.com, Technorati, Bloglines, Blogpulse)
Publish (Gmail, SMS, CHTML, Mobile Mail, XHTML, JavaScript, IMAP, NNTP, PSP, iPod, metaWeblog, Atom)
Plugins can be enabled / disabled using condition modules (= rule-based). So you can do "Forward all the updates to my Gmail account, but if the title contains Plagger and bookmarked by 5 users on del.icio.us, SMS me as well."
By default, Plagger doesnt do anything with the 2 tough parts of aggregator: Crawling and User Interface, but lets other services/tools do it. My recommendation is to use Bloglines for Crawling and Gmail for User Interface (and Search).
Since rev7, Plagger comes with a dumb aggregator plugin that fetches RSS/Atom feeds synchronously. You can use OPML remote subscription and the Simple aggregator to consume a small number of feeds. It doesnt do de-duplication of feed updates yet.
Were in the active development right now. API and config file format might be changed in the future.
