Packit 1.0

Packit 1.0

Packit (Packet toolkit) is a network auditing tool. more>>
Packit (Packet toolkit) is a network auditing tool. Its value is derived from its ability to customize, inject, monitor, and manipulate IP traffic.
By allowing you to define (spoof) nearly all TCP, ICMP, IP, ARP, UDP, RARP, and Ethernet header options, Packit can be useful in testing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, port scanning, simulating network traffic, and general TCP/IP auditing. Packit is also an excellent tool for learning TCP/IP.
Packit 1.0 requires libnet 1.1.2 or greater as well as libpcap. It has been successfully compiled and tested to run on FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, MacOS X and Linux.
Due to shifting priorities, this project is now in maintenance mode. If you find a bug, either submit a patch or email me the details. Ill do my best to put out fix in a reasonable amount of time.
Enhancements:
Injection:
- Bugfix NULL bytes in the payload (patch contributed by: Jason Copenhaver)
General:
- Updates to several build routines to support libnet 1.1.2+

C-Dogs SDL Port 0.4

C-Dogs SDL Port 0.4

C-Dogs is an arcade shoot-em-up which lets players work alone and co-operativly during missions. more>>
C-Dogs SDL is a port of the old DOS arcade game C-Dogs to modern operating systems utilising the SDL Media Libraries. In theory C-Dogs SDL should be able to run on Windows, MacOS X, BeOS and the other systems supported by SDL.

Genererally, the more UNIX like a system is, the greater the chance of C-Dogs working (MacOS X and BeOS people, I mean you guys).

C-Dogs SDL was ported to SDL by Jeremy Chin and Lucas Martin-King, using Gentoo Linux as their development environment.

C-Dogs is an arcade shoot-em-up which lets players work alone and co-operativly during missions, and against each other in the "dogfight" deathmatch mode. The DOS version of C-Dogs came with several built in missions and dogfight maps, this version is no exception.

The author of the DOS version of C-Dogs was Ronny Wester. See the "official" homepage for more details. We would like to thank him for releasing the C-Dogs sources to the public.

ascii-invaders 0.1b

ascii-invaders 0.1b

ascii-invaders project is a clone of Space Invaders which uses the curses library. more>>
ascii-invaders project is a clone of Space Invaders which uses the curses library.
t compiles and runs on MacOS X, GNU/Linux and probably any other system with a curses implementation. I tried to reproduce the way the aliens move in the real game (which you can play on the MAME emulator on a modern computer system). It looks better than it plays however.
I wrote it some time ago in a fit of the-way-computers-were-nostalgia. Perhaps Ill have a go at insulting another classic game in the same way soon.
While writing the game I was inspired to write a deranged rant about the joy of terminals, command lines, Unix, curses and vi.
If you need to change Ascii Invaders to build it on another platform, Id be grateful for patch or instructions so I can include them. Likewise, fixes and improvements to the ascii-art or the code are very welcome. Id also love to hear whether its actually usable on a real serial terminal :-)
Enhancements:
- fixed time() call

Clamor 0.0.24

Clamor 0.0.24

Clamor is software for musical ear training. more>>
Clamor is software for musical ear training. The exercises currently available involve hearing intervals, hearing chords, and hearing notes relative to the tonic or the root of a chord.It runs on Linux and FreeBSD. Its written to be as platform-independent as possible, so it might be easy to port to Windows or MacOS X, but I havent tried. As you see in the version number, this is an early prerelease version.
First, make sure to install the program "sox" and the Perl modules "Audio::Data", "Audio::Play", and "Clone". Probably you want to do use your distros mechanisms for installing the Perl modules, but as a last resort, you can do a "make depend", which will try to use CPANs crufty interface to install the relevant perl modules.
FreeBSD. The ports you need are audio/p5-Audio and devel/p5-Clone. FreeBSD was my original development system, so this should work fine.
Debian. On Debian, youre probably out of luck. Perls Audio module is not in Debians packages, and installing it from the CPAN sources just results in crashes.
Main features:
- The exercises currently available involve hearing intervals, hearing chords, and hearing notes relative to the tonic or the root of a chord.
- Intervals and notes are heard in context: either the tonality is estabished first by playing a cadence, or the note or interval is heard as part of an actual melody.
- The software comes with a synthesizer that uses prerecorded, digitized tones from actual acoustic instruments.

aardmail 0.1.1

aardmail 0.1.1

aardmail is a package with useful tools for different kinds of mail handling. more>>
aardmail is a package with useful tools for different kinds of mail handling.

All programs can be linked against dietlibc and should be working under UNIX and Windows. aardmail is known to compile and work under Linux, *BSD, IRIX, Solaris (gcc and Sun Studio), MacOS X and Windows (MingW and Borland C).

All transports over network can (and should) be TLS-encrypted, currently using either OpenSSL or GnuTLS. Per default aardmail will abort if it cant verify a peers certificate, and wont do fallbacks to unencrypted transport unless you tell it explicitly to do so.

DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS 0.10

DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS 0.10

DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS is a Perl module that can convert DateTimes to/from Mac OS epoch seconds. more>>
DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS is a Perl module that can convert DateTimes to/from Mac OS epoch seconds.

SYNOPSIS

use DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS;

my $dt = DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS->parse_datetime( 1051488000 );
DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS->format_datetime($dt);
# 1051488000

my $formatter = DateTime::Format::Epoch::MacOS->new();

my $dt2 = $formatter->parse_datetime( 1051488000 );

$formatter->format_datetime($dt2);
# 1051488000

This module can convert a DateTime object (or any object that can be converted to a DateTime object) to the number of seconds since the Mac OS epoch.
Note that the Mac OS epoch is defined in the local time zone. This means that these two pieces of code will print the same number of seconds, even though they represent two datetimes 6 hours apart:

$dt = DateTime->new( year => 2003, month => 5, day => 2,
time_zone => Europe/Amsterdam );
print $formatter->format_datetime($dt);

$dt = DateTime->new( year => 2003, month => 5, day => 2,
time_zone => America/Chicago );
print $formatter->format_datetime($dt);

Mac OS X is a Unix system, and uses the Unix epoch (1970-01-01T00:00:00). Use DateTime::Format::Epoch::Unix instead.
