Free macintosh stereo software for linux

Early Macintosh Image LoadEr allows to boot linux-m68k from a floppy on a macintosh such as MacII or Quadra 610.
With it, you can create rescue disk, or remove the MacOS partition (needed by the legacy penguin booter) from your HD.
Create a floppy from rescue disk image
You can find floppy image from the package emile-rescue
Under linux, the command to dump image to floppy is:
# dd if=emile-rescue-x.y.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 conv=sync
then, you can eject floppy with:
# eject /dev/fd0
If you are using MacOS, use MakeDebianFloppy AppleScript (you must use a floppy image with a size of exactly 1474560 bytes).
Enhancements:
- This release has improved SCSI support, allows you to create a bootable CD-ROM, adds Debian packaging, updates the PowerPC part (currently not usable), and introduces apple_driver (currently not usable).

Gnome/Mono application to copy mp3 files to mp3 player

Stereo is a GTK/mono application for copying MP3 files (either from a 3mu type playlist or database search onto an MP3 player than can be seen by Linux as a USB hard drive.

This is the initial alpha release - 0.0.1.

Alsa-Nyser is an Real Time Audio Analyser that displays several informations about sound. These informations are:

Signals of the chanels
Phase of sound in 1D and 2D representation
Spectrum in full band
Spectrum in 1/3 octavia displaying frequency in Stereo or Mono reducted sound
Frequency of the peak signal (2 peaks frequency in stereo mode)
Stereo Meters

For the moment, each of the specifications described can be displayed by the program in real time. But I have to work (and compare) on the reality of what is displayed (calculated) by the soft considering the theory of sound analysis. There is still work on the frequency analyser and real meters level displaying (peak and mean levels).

Mad Bomber project is a SDL-based clone of Activisions 2600 game.
Mad Bomber is a clone of Activisions 1981 Atari 2600 classic, "Kaboom!" The Mad Bomber rushes back and forth at the top of the screen and drops bombs which you must catch with your bucket. If one drops, you lose a bucket and go back one level.
One or two players can play, using keyboard or mouse.
There is also a "versus" mode where player two controls the Mad Bomber.
Main features:
- Runs on a variety of platforms, including PDAs!
- Controlled with mouse or keyboard.
- One- and two-player modes, including two-player versus.
- On desktop systems, Mad Bomber can be run in a window or fullscreen, in 640x480 resolution.
- Mad Bomber optionally supports stereo sound, and includes music. Volume settings can be changed in the options screen.
- You can choose to play either with an attractive photo-realistic background, or with a plain (zen) Kaboom!-style background.
- A handicap can be set for either or both player, reducing the width of their bucket to half-size.
- High score and options are saved.
Enhancements:
- Now takes advantage of SDL_mixers left/right stereo panning support. (For splashes and explosions.)

JBinHex is both a library and a command-line tool, written in Java, to decode files in the Apple Macintosh BinHex 4.0 format.

It accepts the following command line parameters:

Either -u < url > or -f < file > to specify the source BinHexed file. If neither of those options is present, DeBinHex reads stdin.
-d to decode the data fork. It will be put in the file with the name that came from the BinHex header.
-df < filename > to decode the data fork to the named file instead of the name that came from the BinHex header.
-r to decode the resource fork. It will be put in the file with the name that came from the BinHex header, with the extension ".resource" appended to it.
-rf < filename > to decode the resource fork to the named file instead of the name that came from the BinHex header.
Both -d/-df options and -r/-rf may be present at the same time. If none of these options is present, DeBinHex will decode the data fork as if the -d options was specified.
-h to only show the header of the BinHex file on stdout. The decoding options are ignored.

Trommler is an X-based drum machine with the following features: use of 16 bit 44100kHz mono drum samples, realtime audio output using the /dev/dsp device on Linux machines (or audio output to file), a variable number of beats per pattern, volume adjustment of drum samples, stereo panning of (mono) drum samples, and more.
The distribution comes with a binary "trommler". Just starting this binary should work in most cases. Because of space problems the binary is compiled dynamically and you will need a recent version of gtk (see next section).
If you have downloaded the Trommler tar file and the binary provided there does not work for you or you want to modify Trommler you need to recompile it.
Before you type make, say "make dep". You will need the gimp toolkit header files and
libraries to compile and link Trommler. If the compiler complains about the functions
`gtk_entry_set_max_length and `gtk_entry_set_editable being undefined you need to get a newer version of the gimp toolkit. If gtk_scrolled_window_add_with_viewport is undefined you can try to use gtk_container_add instead.
