Mac::Errors 1.13

Mac::Errors 1.13

Mac::Errors is a Perl module with constants for Mac error codes. more>>
Mac::Errors is a Perl module with constants for Mac error codes.

SYNOPSIS

use Mac::Errors qw(openErr);

if( $value == openErr ) { ... }

my $error = $MacErrors{ $symbol }; # -- OR -- my $error = $MacErrors{ $number };

my $symbol = $error->symbol; my $number = $error->number; my $desc = $error->description;

# in MacPerl, $^E is meaningful, and we tie $MacError to it use Mac::Errors qw( $MacError );

open FILE, $foo or die $^E; # error number open FILE, $foo or die $MacError; # gets description from $^E

The %MacErrors hash indexes error information by the error number or symbol. Each value is a Mac::Errors object which has the symbol, number, and description.

The $MacError scalar performs some tied magic to translate MacPerls $^E to the error text.

MayaVi 1.5

MayaVi 1.5

MayaVi is a free, cross platform, easy-to-use scientific data visualizer. more>>
MayaVi is a free, easy to use scientific data visualizer. It is written in Python and uses the amazing Visualization Toolkit (VTK) for the graphics.
It provides a GUI written using Tkinter. MayaVi is free and distributed under the conditions of the BSD license. It is also cross platform and should run on any platform where both Python and VTK are available (which is almost any *nix, Mac OSX or Windows).
Main features:
- An easy to use GUI.
- Can be imported as a Python module from other Python programs and can also be scripted from the Python interpreter.
- Provides modules to:
- Visualize computational grids.
- Visualize scalar, vector and tensor data.
- Quite a few data filters are also provided.
- Supports volume visualization of data via texture and ray cast mappers.
- Support for any VTK dataset using the VTK data format. Works for rectilinear, structured, unstructured grid data and also for polygonal data. Both the original VTK data formats and the new XML formats are supported.
- Support for PLOT3D data. Only the binary structured grid format works because of current limitations in VTKs vtkPLOT3DReader. Simple support for multi-block data is also incorporated.
- Support for EnSight data. EnSight6 and EnSightGold formats are supported. Only single parts are supported at this time.
- Multiple datasets can be used simultaneously. Multiple modules can be viewed simultaneously.
- Support for data files belonging to a time series.
- A pipeline browser with which you can browse and edit objects in the VTK pipeline. A segmented pipeline browser is used to make it easier to look at parts of the VTK pipeline.
- Support for importing a simple VRML or 3D Studio scene. Texturing in VRML is not yet supported due to limitations in VTKs vtkVRMLImporter.
- A modular design so you can add your own modules and filters.
- A Lookup Table editor to customize your lookup tables easily while visualizing data!
- An interactive data picker that lets you probe your data interactively.
- A light manipulation kit that lets you modify the lighting of the visualization.
- The visualization (or a part of it) can be saved and reused in the future.
- Export the visualized scene to a Post Script file, PPM/BMP/TIFF/JPEG/PNG image, Open Inventor, Geomview OOGL, VRML files, Wavefront OBJ or RenderMan RIB files. It is also possible to save the scene to a vector graphic via GL2PS. This is only available if VTK is built with GL2PS support.
- And a lot more! MayaVi can be easily modified to do things differently.
Enhancements:
- This release added a new LUT editor, support for user defined sources, a vorticity filter, support for the VolumeProMapper, and support for VTK-CVS and VTK-5.x.
- A new utility script for searching the VTK documentation using a GUI was included.
- A severe bug in opening data files belonging to a time-series under Win32 was fixed.
- There were also other miscellaneous bugfixes and enhancements.

Mac::PropertyList::SAX 0.09

Mac::PropertyList::SAX 0.09

Mac::PropertyList::SAX is a Perl module to work with Mac plists at a low level (with real XML parsers). more>>
Mac::PropertyList::SAX is a Perl module to work with Mac plists at a low level (with real XML parsers).

Mac::PropertyList is useful, but very slow on large files because it does the parsing by itself, intead of handing off the actual XML parsing to a dedicated parser. This module uses XML::SAX::ParserFactory to select a parser capable of doing the heavy lifting, reducing parsing time on large files by up to 97%. This is especially useful for iTunes library plists which may be megabytes in size and contain thousands of entries in dozens of dictionaries.

This module does not, however, replace Mac::PropertyList; in fact, it depends on it for several package definitions and the plist creation routines.

Be aware that performance will depend largely on the parser that XML::SAX::ParserFactory selects for you; if you have not installed XML::SAX::Expat or another fast parser, the default XML::SAX::PurePerl parser will be used; this will probably give worse performance than Mac::PropertyList, so ensure that a fast parser is being used before you complain to me about performance :-). See XML::SAX::ParserFactory for information on how to set which parser is used.

Radar Tools 0.18

Radar Tools 0.18

Radar Tools is an advanced SAR remote sensing image processing software. more>>
Radar Tools in short RAT is a small collection of tools for processing SAR (synthetic aperture radar) remote sensing data, packed together in a nice graphical user interface.
Our motivation to start the development of RAT is that modern remote sensing software like Erdas Image or ENVI include only some basic SAR functionality. Advanced algorithms have to be implemented by oneself.
So we descided to start the development of RAT. RAT should bring modern SAR algorithms to a wider user-base by simplifying in particular the data handling and processing of complex SAR data.
RAT is planned as an ongoing community effort, i.e. there will be no final version with a certain functionality. It is our idea to include more and more SAR tools in future and to make them freely available to the scientific community.
We of course also hope for external contributions. Because of this, the programming interface of RAT is kept quite simple and adding own functions is quite easy. Function templates are included in the distribution and a step-by-step description of how to program a RAT module will appear soon in the documentation.
Main features:

Mac::PropertyList 1.29

Mac::PropertyList is a Perl module to work with Mac plists at a low level. more>>
Mac::PropertyList is a Perl module to work with Mac plists at a low level.
SYNOPSIS
use Mac::PropertyList;
my $data = parse_plist( $text );
# == OR ==
my $data = parse_plist_file( $filename );
# == OR ==
open my( $fh ), $filename or die "...";
my $data = parse_plist_fh( $fh );
my $text = plist_as_string( $data );
my $plist = create_from_hash( %hash );
my $plist = create_from_array( @array );
my $plist = Mac::PropertyList::dict->new( %hash );
This module is a low-level interface to the Mac OS X Property List (plist) format. You probably shouldnt use this in applications---build interfaces on top of this so you dont have to put all the heinous multi-level object stuff where people have to look at it.
You can parse a plist file and get back a data structure. You can take that data structure and get back the plist as XML. If you want to change the structure inbetween thats your business.
You dont need to be on Mac OS X to use this. It simply parses and manipulates a text format that Mac OS X uses.

Mac::Path::Util 0.23

Mac::Path::Util 0.23

Mac::Path::Util is a Perl module that can convert between darwin and Mac paths. more>>
Mac::Path::Util is a Perl module that can convert between darwin and Mac paths.

SYNOPSIS

use Mac::Path::Util;

my $path = Mac::Path::Util->new( "/Users/foo/file.txt" );
my $mac_path = $path->mac_path;

THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE. SOME THINGS ARE NOT FINISHED.

Convert between darwin (unix) and Mac file paths.

This is not as simple as changing the directory separator. The Mac path has the volume name in it, whereas the darwin path leaves off the startup volume name because it is mounted as /.

Mac::Path::Util can optionally use Mac::Carbon to determine the real startup volume name (off by default) if you have installed Mac::Carbon. You can use this module on other platforms too. Once the module has looked up the volume name, it caches it. If you want to reset the cache, use the clear_startup() method.

Colons ( ":" ) in the darwin path become / in the Mac path, and forward slashes in the Mac path become colons in the darwin path.

Mac paths do not have a leading directory separator for absolute paths.
Normally, Mac paths that end in a directory name have a trailing colon, but this module cannot necessarily verify that since you may want to convert paths.

MAC Changer GUI will display and change your MAC address to a user supplied or random value. more>>
MAC Changer GUI will display and change your MAC address to a user supplied or random value.

Created with kommander 1.3.0. Not sure if it works with previous versions.

Depends on kdialog and must be executed with the kdesu command.

Example:

kdesu kmdr-executor /home/someDIR/mac.kmdr

As this script is executed using root privileges it is good practice to inspect the script for malicious content. With that being said there is nothing in the script that can harm your computer. A reboot will restore your original MAC if you forget its value and want to change it back.

File::Spec::Mac 3.25

File::Spec::Mac 3.25

File::Spec::Mac Perl module contains File::Spec for Mac OS (Classic). more>>

SYNOPSIS

require File::Spec::Mac; # Done internally by File::Spec if needed

Methods for manipulating file specifications.

METHODS

canonpath

On Mac OS, theres nothing to be done. Returns what its given.

catdir()

Concatenate two or more directory names to form a path separated by colons (":") ending with a directory. Resulting paths are relative by default, but can be forced to be absolute (but avoid this, see below). Automatically puts a trailing ":" on the end of the complete path, because thats whats done in MacPerls environment and helps to distinguish a file path from a directory path.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning with version 1.3 of this module, the resulting path is relative by default and not absolute. This decision was made due to portability reasons. Since File::Spec->catdir() returns relative paths on all other operating systems, it will now also follow this convention on Mac OS. Note that this may break some existing scripts.

The intended purpose of this routine is to concatenate directory names. But because of the nature of Macintosh paths, some additional possibilities are allowed to make using this routine give reasonable results for some common situations. In other words, you are also allowed to concatenate paths instead of directory names (strictly speaking, a string like ":a" is a path, but not a name, since it contains a punctuation character ":").

So, beside calls like

catdir("a") = ":a:"
catdir("a","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir() = "" (special case)

calls like the following

catdir(":a:") = ":a:"
catdir(":a","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":a:","b") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":a:",":b:") = ":a:b:"
catdir(":") = ":"

are allowed.
