ID3v2 allows to store the lyric of a song directly in the tag. Lyrics ID3 is a script for amaroK which uses this fact.
If the writing script runs, the lyrics of the actual song are stored automatically in the mp3-tag.
The reading script, is an amaroK lyric script, which reads the mp3-tag on a fetchLyric request.
The download able file contains two scripts:
read_lyric_from_id3: amaroK Lyric Script
reads the USLT frame of the id3v2 header and sends the lyrics to amarok
save_lyric_to_id3:
Stores the lyrics, fetched from amaroK to the USLT frame in the ID3v2 header
The Lyrics are automatically saved on trackChange and Play

As a Chinese Amarok user, it is impossible to get correct lyrics by default lyrics script.
I wrote this script to deal with the problem, and it get Chinese lyrics from baidu.com (default), as some options, you can fetch lyrics from several other sites now!
NOTE:this script just for GB* and UTF-8 locale at present.

Lyricue 1.9.10 is an extremely useful utility for everyone. It can be used to edit/display song lyrics on a second screen/projector for use at singing events such as church services.
With Lyricue you are not restricted to setting everything up before the event as you can add, remove and change songs on the fly. Lyric-am is a Superkaramba applet that shows lyrics of your songs directly on your desktop.
Lyric-am requires amaroK player version 1.3.X or newer. If you want to test your configuration before download this script write "dcop amarok default lyrics" in your shell when amaroK plays a song with lyrics: if you get lyrics in your shell, the script could be work.
You can get better performance if you use a database to store lyrics: see amaroK manual to see how you can do it.
When you have created an amaroK database and configured it correctly, you can create a collection of lyrics listening songs with "Lyrics" tab selected (do it on-line!): youll have a collection to browse it also off-line.

- Im a newbie.

This module tries to find lyrics on the web. Sometimes it works. But it probably wont.
It searches google for an initial set. It then finds the largest block of plain text in the top 5 results. Those results are then compared to one another and weighted.
The idea being that a large block of text on one site may be a bunch of poo, but a large area of similar text on multiple sites most likely is the lyrics for which you are looking.

Lyriki-Lyrics used to be a lyrics plugin to interface with lyriki.com. Its been now completely rewritten and extended to form a collection of lyric scripts. Whats interesting about these scripts is that they query the other scripts when they cant provide the lyrics for a song.
Support for other sites its also pretty trivial to add (only a few methods have to be implemented) and ill be porting all the existing plugins in not much time. Check out the code if you want to help.
Also included theres a special plugin, Lyriki Submit, which can add missing lyrics to Lyriki.com (a Lyriki account is needed to use it). If you dont want to submit lyrics you can still use the simple Lyriki script (it will still take care of querying the other scripts when needed).
