Shallows 0.90

Shallows 0.90

Shallows is a C++ library designed to make GPGPU programming easier and safer. more>>
Shallows is a C++ library designed to make GPGPU programming easier and safer. We aim to reduce the time spent on writing and debugging OpenGL related C/C++ code, so the developers of GPGPU applications can concentrate on implementing the algorithms instead.

GPGPU applications are all about performance, the overhead by using shallows is therefore kept low.

Shallows absolutely requires a Shader Model 3.0 card. As of today this implies that only Nvidia 6xxx and 7800 cards will work. It also requirees a recent driver with the GL_EXT_framebuffer_object extension.

Low Resolution Modeline Calculator 0.9.2

Low Resolution Modeline Calculator 0.9.2

Low Resolution Modeline Calculator is a modeline calculator for legacy CRT displays. more>>
Low Resolution Modeline Calculator is a modeline calculator for legacy CRT displays, including TVs, arcade monitors, and VGA monitors.
Low Resolution Modeline Calculator can also be used to calculate low resolution modelines for modern multisync PC monitors.
As its name implies, it is not designed for calculating large resolutions, resolutions that operate over 65kHz.
Options:
-v, --vsync
Calculate the nearest mode in vertical synchronization.
-b, --bestscan
Calculate the nearest best scan mode.
-i, --interlace
Include support for interlaced calculations. Interlaced modes are not supported by many video cards. You should only enable this option if you know your video card supports them.
-d, --doublescan
Include support for doublescanned calculations. Doublescanned modes are not supported by many video cards. You should only enable this option if you know your video card supports them.
-n, --nostretch
Do not stretch modes that are out of range for your monitor. You should use this option if you know that your application does not support integer stretching.
-y, --ystretch
Assume fractional stretching of the y-resolution. You should use this option if you know that your application supports fractional stretching of the y-resolution and you want to stretch an underscanned mode so that it fills the entire screen.
-l, --lowpclock
Many video cards do not reliably support pixel clocks lower than 8mHz. If you know that your video card and its driver support pixel clocks lower than 8mHz, then you should use this option.
-h, --highpclock
Most X11 video card drivers do not support pixel clocks lower than 12mHz. In some cases your video card may not support pixel clocks lower than 12mHz either (rare). If you know that your video card (or your video card driver) does not support pixel clocks lower than 12mHz, then you should use this option.
-3x4
Stretch the horizontal resolution so that the mode has a 3:4 aspect ratio. You can use this option to correctly display vertical resolutions on a horizontal monitor.
-x, --X11R6
Print modeline in X11 format (default).
-f, --fb
Print modeline in fbset format.
-a, --advmame
Print modeline in AdvanceMAME format.
-s, --SDL
Print modeline in X11 format to stdout and print AdvanceMAME X11 configuration to stderr.
-p, --powerstrip
Print modeline in PowerStrip format.
-pal
Calculate modelines for a PAL Television (15.625kHz).
-ntsc
Calculate modelines for a NTSC Television (15.73426kHz).

MOSIXVIEW 1.1

MOSIXVIEW 1.1

MOSIXVIEW is a GUI for managing openMosix-Cluster. more>>
MOSIXVIEW is a GUI for managing openMosix-Cluster. Everybody is invited to download and use it (at your own risk and responsibility).

You can adjust the main parameters of your openMosix-Cluster. It is a front-end for the "mosctl"-Commands. The "speed"of each node can be changed whith slide-buttons, that does not mean that you can increase the physical speed of a computer but you can influence what openMosix thinks what its speed is.

My experience is that processes will migrate a lot easier if the "speed" of the node the process is migrating to is higher than that one the process is running on (i set the speed of my "home-node" very low if i run some "bigger" jobs but still want to work at this host. Than all CPU-intensive processes will migrate to other nodes and on my "home-node" the load is quite low).

JPartialDownloader is a Java Program for downloading files using HTTP/FTP/BitTorrent protocols.

JPartialDownloader support many features like resuming unfinished downloads and retrying. But what makes this program different from similar programs is that you can download only a range of a file.

Using range downloading feature you can download large files in smaller pieces and later merge the pieces together to reconstruct the main file.

This feature might be useful when you are low on disk space on your downloading computer or when you are only interested in a range of a file.

CELT 0.6.0

CELT 0.6.0

CELT is an experimental audio codec for use in low-delay communication. more>>

CELT 0.6.0 is created to be an experimental audio codec for use in low-delay communication. CELT stands for "Code-Excited Lapped Transform". It applies some of the CELP principles, but does everything in the frequency domain, which removes some of the limitations of CELP.

Major Features:

  1. Ultra-low latency (typically from 3 to 9 ms)
  2. Full audio bandwidth (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz)
  3. Stereo support
  4. Packet loss concealment
  5. Constant bit-rates from 32 kbps to 128 kbps and above
  6. A fixed-point version of the encoder and decoder
  7. The CELT codec is meant to close the gap between Vorbis and Speex for applications where both high quality audio and low delay are desired.

Enhancements:

  • Has just been released, with many quality improvements, including better stereo coupling, better handling of transients, and better handling of highly tonal signals.
  • Packet loss robustness has been improved through the optional use of independent (intra) frames.
  • Supports a larger dynamic range, suitable for encoding 24-bit audio (float version only).
  • There is also a very early VBR implementation.

Mono 0.1.0

Mono 0.1.0

Mono is an excercise in subtractive synthesis. more>>
Mono is an excercise in subtractive synthesis. My intent is to write a bandlimited oscillator, a 4-pole low-pass filter and an envelope generator that run in real-time, and to have a TB-303-
inspired graphical user interface on top of that. As of now, the audio configuration process is not so nice and you have to be a nerd in order to succeed.
Main features:
- oscillator (though not yet properly bandlimited)
- 4-pole all-pole low-pass filter
- ADR envelope generator
- single pattern sequencer
- butt-ugly GUI
- real-time audio output on Linux, IRIX and Solaris
