Cavepilot project is a cave-flying game for two players.
Cavepilot is another cave-flying game like the old classics, Turbo Raketti and Gravity Force You fly a small rocket in a 2D cave and try to shoot down your opponent. It currently supports one or two local players.
Examples of modern counterparts are Turbis and Luola. Cavepilot currently
only supports one (which is rather boring) or two player games on a split screen. Some sort of network play is in the planning stage though.
Enhancements:
- Added the level "the bana" by Aino Soininen (Thank you, my love!)
- Fixed a typo in Makefile

Kororaa Beta2-r1
Kororaa project is a way of installing Gentoo Linux easily and quickly, similar to Gentoos more>>
Kororaa project is a way of installing Gentoo Linux easily and quickly, similar to Gentoos "Stage3 with GRP packages" install.
Whats different?
For Kororaa we wrote an install script to go along with our install method which takes care of most of the manual configuring required under the Gentoo method;
The Kororaa build is derived from Bob Ps Stage 1/3 install method;
Also, we have pre-defined a wide suite of KDE based (and now also Gnome based) applications for your use and designed the entire system specifically for these;
We have also added a large number tweaks and automations along the way to assist in the Kororaa experience.
Whats the point of it?
I must state that I adore the manual Gentoo way of installing. In fact, I swore against an installer for Gentoo for a long time and this stance has not really changed. What I wanted however was a way to quickly re-produce a desktop installation for multiple machines. I also wanted a tool that I could give to friends who liked the idea of Gentoo but complained about the "compile time". I dont think that missing out on the Gentoo experience because of "compile time" is valid and so I wanted a way to introduce my friends to Gentoo without having to build their systems myself.
I cannot more strongly recommend the Gentoo install method if you are serious about learning both Gentoo and GNU/Linux in general. I owe Gentoo a lot - I played with Redhat* back in 1998 (thanks to Andrew Tridgell) but then fell into "RPM hell" and went around from distro to distro in a mad seething rage of desperation. Then I came across Gentoo 1.1 and it was love at first install.
So, if youre someone who doesnt want to wait to get a nicely configured Gentoo system, is so afraid of the standard install method that its stopping you from trying Gentoo at all, or youre a lazy pig then this method is for you!
Note: You can use our stage3, portage snapshot and packages together with the standard Gentoo "Stage3 GRP" install if you want to try it that way too!
What else?
The Kororaa system comes pre-configured for a Pentium3. We chose Pentium3 because most people should have an SSE capable processor by now.
This means it will run on any P3 Coppermine core and later, including AMD Athlon-XP, Athlon64/Opteron, Sempron etc and Intel Pentium 4, Pentium M, Xeon etc.
Please note it will NOT work on a system without SSE support.
As of Beta2 however, we have also released an AMD64 version, which will run on any AMD 64bit cpu including Athlon64, Sempron64 and Opteron.
If you want more optimisation, you can easily re-build your system with all the current apps and configuration by changing your make.conf and rebuilding world.
Please note the system is currently BETA, a bit "hacky" and could destroy your harddrive or something even more nasty like bowed legs and a crooked smile.

last played is a small script that shows the last 5 files a mounted iPod shuffle played in shuffle mode. more>>
last played is a small script that shows the last 5 files a mounted iPod shuffle played in shuffle mode.
Since you look at this page, you probably own an iPod shuffle. If you are like me, you like to upload new music on it, set it to shuffle mode and enjoy. Yeah!
Until there comes a song you really love or hate, but your trusty shuffle lacks a display, so there is no way to know (other than to memorize some lyrics and google for them) which song it was.
Luckily, there is an easier way: last played is a small python script that will put the last 5 (or whatever you tell it on command line) files you listened to on screen. Now you can simply delete songs you hate and give 5 stars to songs you love.
I recommend putting the last.py on the root directory of your shuffle. You can then start it from there using
python last.py
on the command line.
last played is released under the terms of the GNU GPL.
Version restrictions:
- Since the iPod shuffle recreates its shuffle sequence whenever the end of the current shuffle sequence is reached, the script might return wrong results now and then. I have not yet tested it thoroughly enough to confirm it, sorry. However, this should not happen too often.
Enhancements:
- This version now (probably) finds a shuffle under MS Windows, and detects if the sequential mode was set, showing the right files in this case.

Cloak 1.0
Cloak is a programming tool written in Ruby that I started as a project to familiarize myself with the Ruby programming language more>>
Cloak (Kind of short for comment locator) is a programming tool written in Ruby that I started as a project to familiarize myself with the Ruby programming language. Now its grown into a full-blown tool that I think many programmers can benefit from. Cloak reads in your source code and extracts the comments. It then stores them in a SQLite database so you can list all the comments for a particular file, or search all the comments in the database. If you happen to update a file and then want to list its comments, Cloak will automatically synchronize it for you and then perform the desired operation.
You might be thinking, "Why would I want to keep track of all my comments, of all things?" Well, I dont know about you, but I love to leave notes to myself in source code comments. And if you were thinking that Cloak would still make you wade through your comments after it spits them out, think again; Cloak allows you to provide a Ruby method to filter what comments are and are not included in the database, as well as a method to modify the comments before they are put in the database. So if youre a C programmer and you write notes to yourself in the form of all upper case comments, but you want to prefix all such comments with an exclamation point before they go in the database, youd put something like this in your .cloak_conf.rb:
def keep_comment?(comment)
return comment !~ /[a-z];
end
def modify_comment(comment)
return "!" + comment
end
That way the comment
/* URGENT MESSAGE */
becomes
!/* URGENT MESSAGE */
and all comments not matching your criteria are not included in the database.
Although only a few languages are supported right now (see the list below), Cloak is easily extensible: just write a Ruby script to extract the comments from a source file, and drop it into the extractors/ subdirectory; Cloak will take care of the rest.
Currently supported languages:
C
C++
Java
C#

Monopod 0.6

Monopod project is a simple Podcast client.
Monopod is for people who want to select a few channels, come back later, and find that the Podcast MP3s turn up on the hard disk.
Since falling in love with the little stick of goodness that is the iPod Shuffle, I decided to get into this podcast thing. You know, where MP3s are attached to RSS feeds and downloaded to your computer.
Unfortunately, none of the obvious Linux podcast software really fitted my needs. Either too lo-fi (bashpodder) or just completely scary (iPodder). So I started to write my own.
Monopod is a simple Podcast client.
Its for people who want to select a few channels, come back later, and find the the Podcast MP3s turn up on the hard disk. People like me.
The user interface will get better in the future, but for now its based on an icon in the system notification area. Right-click it, select "Subscriptions", and off you go.
Downloaded files will turn up in the "Monopod" directory in your home directory. Theres a directory per channel, and an M3U file in there with a playlist for each channel.

Phaeronix 0.85 Beta
Phaeronix is a Gentoo-based RR4 CD optimised for i686, with GNOME, Reiser4-enabled GRUB. more>>
Phaeronix is a gentoo love-sources RR4 CD with reiser4 enabled grub, auto hardware detection with nvidia 3D support , ready for multimedia, internet, and arabic. It is optimised for i686.
The kernel is now based on the 2.6.15-arckck7 patchset with a couple of additions ( one to fix acer laptop hangs and the other to fix slow laptop battery polls).
http://iphitus.loudas.com/archck.php
Final release is probably going to be based on the new -beyond patchset.
The livecd uses a genkernel generated initramfs, but with quite some hacks added to the linuxrc. As a result this initramfs can now probably boot from any media, anything from IDE to external firewire.
The CD is rendered pseudo-writable thanks to squashfs and unionfs.
Hardware detction is modular and can be turned on and off as needed. You can see the possible options in the cheatcodes list.
Modular Xorg-X11 7.0 is the default Xorg server. XGL server is included as an optional featured activated at boot time by booting like this :
"linux xgl"
This is experimental and might not work. Check http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_XGL
To find out if your card supported and to see if your problem has been already reported.
The desktop is a full gnome-2.14 , there is no KDE and no qt/KDE apps.
The default user name is phaeron and its password is also phaeron.
The root password is root.
The available editors are vim and nano.
Its built specifically to support arabic, with some patches and customizations. However, this is an ongoing process. It was spurred by arabbixs stagnation. Best of all just click on the keyboard applet or press alt+shift and you get an arabic keyboard layout.
"w3m -v" is the text only browser because it supports arabic ( along with bicon to bidi/shape properly ). Check here for the inspiration : http://www.eglug.org/node/1953
Also in gnome-terminal run a new session with the arabic profile and you will have full bidi and shaping thanks to arabeyes bicon.
Msameers arabic wordlist has been included in aspell and openoffice. Check here for the arabic wordlist : http://www.eglug.org/node/1976
You can logout from the desktop and choose arabic as the session language and then log in again. The desktop will be RTL and mostly in arabic. The reason this isnt made easier or more obvious is a lot of things still need translation or bugfixing. The infrastructure is there however.
The supported locales are : arabic, french, italian, german,and slovak.
The official gentoo installer is also included to help installing gentoo if you want.
