Ksvn Client 0.4

Ksvn Client 0.4

Ksvn is a new Subversion client that looks like tortoiseSVN. more>>
Ksvn is a new Subversion client that looks like tortoiseSVN.
It can be used from the Konqueror context menu and replaces the standard KDE SubVersion menu. You can directly add, revert, and delete files from the commit dialog with a files context menu.
Installation:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.
Running `configure takes a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
4. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean.
Enhancements:
- The possibility to choose a file when adding a directory was added.

Blue Moon 2.9

Blue Moon 2.9

Blue Moon project is a Blue Moon solitaire for Unix. more>>
Blue Moon project is a Blue Moon solitaire for Unix.
This 52-card solitaire starts with the entire deck shuffled and dealt out in four rows.
The aces are then moved to the left end of the layout, making 4 initial free spaces.
You may move to a space only the card that matches the left neighbor in suit, and is one greater in rank. Kings are high, so no cards may be placed to their right (they create dead spaces).
When no moves can be made, cards still out of sequence are reshuffled and dealt face up after the ends of the partial sequences, leaving a card space after each sequence, so that each row looks like a partial sequence followed by a space, followed by enough cards to make a row of 14.
A moments reflection will show that this game cannot take more than 13 deals.
A good score is 1-3 deals, 4-7 is average, 8 or more is poor.
Enhancements:
- Changes since the initial release have been in the packaging.

Config Maker 0.2

Config Maker 0.2

Config Maker is a tool to automatically create C++ classes that parse configuration files. more>>
Config Maker is a tool to automatically create C++ classes that parse configuration files.

Only a few lines of text that describe the possible entries in the configuration file are needed, and the complete class will be generated ready for use.

Basic usage

The input files for Config Maker have a very simple structure (in ANTLR/grep like notation):

objectname (configentry)+
Each configentry looks like this
type entryname defaultvalue (comment)?

type

Type of the entry, can be int, double, string or bool. If the basic type is followed by any number, the corresponding c++object variable will be of type vector < basic type > The number is the initial number of elements that are allocated for the vector, but the actual configuration file can contain more components. These are added using the push_back method.

If there are less elements specified in the configuration file, the object variable will still contain the number of elements specified here. No warning will be issued.
configentry

Name of the entry and corresponding variable. Has to be at least two characters long and can contain characters and numbers. Case insensitive.

defaultvalue

Default value for the entry. This is optional.

comment

Each comment starts with // and is completely ignored

XML::Literal 0.02

XML::Literal 0.02

XML::Literal is a Perl module with syntax support for XML literals. more>>
XML::Literal is a Perl module with syntax support for XML literals.

SYNOPSIS

# This is not a source filter: it just augments glob().
use XML::Simple;
use XML::Literal &XMLin;

# Simple element
my $xml1 = < hr/ >;

# With variable interpolation
my $xml2 = < input value=$ARGV[0] / >;

# With an extra pair of angle brackets
my $xml3 = < < a href=/ > Some Text < /a > >;

# With escaped angle brackets
my $xml4 = < a href=/ > Some Text < /a >;

# Direct call to the xml-building glob constructor
my $xml5 = glob
< p >< em >
Some Text
< /em >< /p >
;

# This does not look like XML, so its still shell glob
my @files = < *.* >;

This module takes one function at its use line. Afterwards, all single-line < ... > calls that looks like a XML literal will be processed with that function, instead of the built-in shell glob.

Support for qx< ... > overriding for multiline XML literals is planned for Perl 5.10.

SlimDog 0.6

SlimDog 0.6

SlimDog offers a simple script based webapplication testing tool. more>>
SlimDog offers a simple script based webapplication testing tool. SlimDog project is based on httpunit. The tool offers a wide range of commands to work with forms, check the content of tables and navigation between HTML pages.
Rather than writing long JUnit testcases or crucial XML files the users can write simple text scripts. Each line of the script file will contain one command which is a testnode. All commands inside one file will be processed as a testcase.
The syntax of every command is simple and easy to learn. Several scripts can be combined to a testsuite. The results are written either to the console, a file or as a HTML page.
Here is an example to see how such a script looks like:
get_html | http://www.google.de
check_title | Google
select_form | 0
set_textfield | q = jConfig
submit_form | btnG
check_text | jConfig
Enhancements:
- improved click_link command. Read this for more details.
- a few bugfixes for the ANT task. The dir attribute caused a NPE
- improved documentation
- you can now include testfiles in other files. The include files page describe this
- new commands included
- improved error reporting

8-bit clean
- Zile can operate with binary files.
Looks like Emacs
- Most Zile key sequences and function names are identical to Emacs ones.
Multi buffer editing with multi level undo
- The number of files and undo operations that Zile can handle is limited only by memory.
Multi window
- Zile can display multiple windows on the screen.
Killing, yanking and registers
- The standard killing, yanking and register features of Emacs are available under Zile.
Minibuffer completion
- Zile can complete commands and filenames in the minibuffer.
Auto fill (word wrap)
- Zile automatically breaks the lines when they become too wide (if the Auto Fill Mode is enabled).
Enhancements:
- This release stops long file names from causing problems with the modeline.

Text::XLogfile 0.03

Text::XLogfile module allows reading and writing xlogfiles.

SYNOPSIS

use Text::XLogfile :all;

my @scores = read_xlogfile("scores.xlogfile");
for (@scores) { $_->{player} = lc $_->{player} }
write_xlogfile(@scores, "scores.xlogfile.new");

my $xlogline = make_xlogline($scores[0], -1);
my $score = parse_xlogline($xlogline);
print "First place: $score->{player}n";
print "$xloglinen";

xlogfile format

xlogfile is a simple line-based data format. An xlogfile is analogous to an array of hashes. Each line corresponds to a hash. A sample xlogline looks like:
name=Eidolos:ascended=1:role=Wiz:race=Elf:gender=Mal:align=Cha
This obviously corresponds to the following hash:

{
ascended => 1,
align => Cha,
name => Eidolos,
race => Elf,
role => Wiz,
gender => Mal,
}

xlogfile supports no quoting. Keys and values may be any non-colon characters. The first = separates the key from the value (so in a=b=c, the key is a, and the value is b=c. Colons are usually transliterated to underscores. Like a Perl hash, if multiple values have the same key, later values will overwrite earlier values. Heres something resembling the actual grammar:

An idea that Perl programmers can usefully borrow from Ruby is the concept of synthesizing new looping constructs by passing a block of code to a function that repeatedly calls it with successive values in a sequence.
In Ruby this looks like this:

KSayit 0.8.2

KSayit 0.8.2

KSayIt is a small KDE3 utilitiy for Linux that simply speaks a given textfile in a very high quality sound. more>>
KSayIt is a small KDE3 utilitiy for Linux that simply speaks a given textfile in a very high quality, i.e. sound and pronounciation of the spoken text should be as (human) natural as possible.
To achieve this, KSayIt uses natively Text-To-Speech systems like MBrola, any TTS system that can be controlled via a command line or any TTS system that is supported by the upcoming KDE TTS system (i.e. Festival).
KSayIt offers three user interfaces: A simple text editor window in which you can enter or paste text that should be spoken after pressing a play button, as well as an icon in the systemtray that starts to speak by a single mouseclick the actual content of the clipboard (if it contains something that looks like text).
As a KDE application it offers also a DCOP interface for the say and shut-up action (see kdcop). Finally KSayIt provides an effectstack to postprocess the sound of the voice (currently only a Freeverb effect is included)
Enhancements:
- KSayIt now interfaces to various TTS systems via loadable modules (plugins).
- Currently the following TTS plugins are in the package:
- Native support for MBrola/txt2pho.
- Support for any user defined command that accepts text from stdin, therefore KSayIt can now speak languages other than German.
- Support for the upcoming KDE TTS Daemon (KTTSD is part of the kdenonbeta package).
- Additional controls (Pause, Resume, Next Sentence, Previous Sentence, if supported by the plugin).
- Audio Effects are also plugins now.

TinyMake 0.06

TinyMake is a minimalist build language, similar in purpose to make and ant.

SYNOPSIS

use TinyMake :all;

# a file statement without a rule is like a symbolic target
file all => ["codeGen", "compile", "dataLoad", "test"];

file codeGen => ["database.spec"], sub {
# generate code here
sh "touch $target";
} ;

file compile => ["codeGen"], sub {
# compile code here

} ;

file dataLoad => ["codeGen"], sub {
# load data here
sh "touch $target"
} ;

file test => ["compile", "dataLoad"], sub {
# test code here
sh "touch $target";
} ;
# a file statement without prerequisites will be executed
# if the target doesnt exist.
file clean => sub {
# perform cleanup here
sh "rm compile codeGen dataLoad test"
} ;

make @ARGV

This Perl Module allows you to define file-based dependencies similar to how make works.Rather than placing the build rules in a separate Makefile or build.xml, the build rules are declared using standard Perl syntax. TinyMake is effectively an inline domain-specific language. Using make you might write a makefile that looks like this...

test: compile dataLoad
# test
touch test

codeGen: database.spec
# generate code
touch codeGen

compile: codeGen
# compile code
touch compile

dataLoad: codeGen
# load data
touch dataLoad

database.spec: # source file
The equivalent perl code using TinyMake would look like this...
use TinyMake :all;

# some perl code
.
.
.
file test => ["compile","dataLoad"], sub { # test
`touch test`;
} ;

file codeGen => "database.spec", sub { # generate code
`touch codeGen`;
} ;

# some more perl code
.
.
.
file compile => "codeGen", sub { # compile code
`touch compile`;
} ;

file dataload => "codeGen", sub { # load data
`touch dataLoad`;
} ;

make @ARGV;

HTML::ActiveLink 1.02

HTML::ActiveLink 1.02

HTML::ActiveLink module dynamically activate HTML links based on URL. more>>
HTML::ActiveLink module dynamically activate HTML links based on URL.

SYNOPSIS

use HTML::ActiveLink;

my $al = new HTML::ActiveLink;

print $al->activelink(@html_doc);

I dont know about you, but one of the main problems I have with HTML content is getting images and links to "turn on" depending on the current URL location. That is, I like authoring one set of templates, something like this:

[ < a href="/" >Home< /a > | < a href="/faq/" >FAQ< /a >
| < a href="/about/" >About Us< /a > ]

And then having the appropriate link turned on, so that if Im running inside the /home/ directory, the above turns into this:

[ < font color="red" >Home< /font > | < a href="/faq/" >FAQ< /a >
| < a href="/about/" >About Us< /a > ]

Without having to write a whole bunch of ifs, or writing a bunch of different sets of templates, etc.

This module handles the above process automatically. By default, it will activate any text or images with < a href > tags around them by stripping the link off and changing the appearance of text and names of images. All transformations are fully customizable, allowing you to choose how your active text should look. HTML::ActiveLink can even automatically construct imagemaps depending on your location.
In the simplest case, all you have to do is create a new object by a call to new(), and then call the main activelink() function which takes care of the transformation. To customize what the output HTML looks like, keep reading...
