Apache Harmony
Apache Harmony is the Java SE project of the Apache Software Foundation. more>>
Apache Harmony is the Java SE project of the Apache Software Foundation. Please help us make this a world class, certified implementation of the Java Platform Standard Edition!
Apache Harmonys aim is to produce a large and healthy community of those interested in runtime platforms tasked with creation of :
A compatible, independent implementation of the Java SE 5 JDK under the Apache License v2.
A community-developed modular runtime (VM and class library) architecture.
We aim to support wide range of different platforms. The main criteria for whether a particular platform is supported or not is the involvement of people in running tests on regular base, reporting build status, finding and fixing bugs for that platform, and so on. We have a list of platforms we are actively maintaining at the moment.
Project Status
JRE and HDK snapshots available
JRE can run popular programs like Apache Tomcat, Eclipse, Maven, Derby, Ant
More than 95% of Java 5 API complete. (not compatible, just completed)
More than 1.25 Million Lines of Code

Logitech Quickcam express driver 0.6.4

This project is to produce drivers for the Logitech Quickam Express that will run popular linux software, such as video for linux.
This site hosts the Linux driver for the QuickCam Express and other QuickCam-related and QuickCam-compatible USB web cameras. The original work was done by Georg Acher and was known as qce-ga; Jean-Frederic Clere took that driver and created the first Video4Linux (V4L) driver, enabling popular V4L applications such as Xawtv to display pictures from the webcam. Since then, a group of developers around the world have evolved the driver into its current state, adding support for new cameras and chipsets as they have become available. In the process, the driver became known as qc-usb to reflect the fact that it supports a wide variety of USB-attached QuickCam cameras, not just the QuickCam Express.
The qc-usb driver supports the following webcams:
Dexxa Webcam
Labtec Webcam (old model)
LegoCam
Logitech QuickCam Express (old model)
Logitech QuickCam Notebook (some models)
Logitech QuickCam Web
Generally, any USB camera with a USB vendor ID of 0x46d and a USB product ID of 0x840, 0x850, or 0x870 (so, 0x46d:0x840, for example), should work. You can see the USB ID using operating system utilities such as lsusb in Linux.

Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver 0.5.2
Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver is a driver for USB Logitech mice. more>>
Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse USB Linux driver is a driver for the USB Logitech MediaPlay mice.
The main purpose of this page is to share my experiences with Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse. Here you will find all the necessary information to put your MediaPlay mouse fully operational.
When i bought this mouse, the first thing that crossed my mind was the incompatibility between all this multimedia buttons and Linux. After googling about it, I noticed there was no useful information regarding this mouse, so I decided to put myself at work.
Did my reseach, and after a few hours browsing kernel source files, reading some usb documentation, code changes, I was able to make the bit map for MediaPlay multimedia keys.
The next step was to change usbmouse.c by Vojtech Pavlik allowing it to get and export mouse extra keys as keyboard entries using kernel input core support.

Gqcam 0.9
Gqcam is a Linux clone of the QuickPict software that comes with the QuickCam. more>>
Gqcam is a Linux clone of the QuickPict software that comes with the QuickCam. Originally it was written using GTK+ for the frontend, Alex Belits qcread for the backend, and a bunch of C to tie it all together.
It still uses GTK+ for the frontend, but as of version 0.2 it uses the Video4Linux interface as a backend. To compile it you will need GTK+, a Quickcam (one of the old greyscale parallel port ones), and a computer running Linux with Video4Linux support for the Quickcam compiled in or as a module.
It is currently fairly early in development, and now works with both the color and greyscale QuickCam. No, that doesnt include the QuickCam VC or any other ones (that I know of). Unfortunatly, Logitech/Connectix dont want to let us know how their new cameras work..
Main features:
- Brightness Control
- White Balance Control
- Contrast Control
- 3 Size Settings
- 2 Depth Settings
- Freeze Picture
- Snap Picture (saves in png, ppm and jpeg format)
- Command-line interface (good for webcam use)
- Snapping on a timer
- Support for the greyscale and color Quickcam, as well as CPiA based cameras and most any other driver that supports the read() command
The cameras I have gotten gqcam to work with or have had other people tell me it works with are:
- Greyscale Quickcam
- Color Quickcam
- Anything listed below this line I have not tested and know very little about
- Ezonics EZcam
- Creative Web-Cam II
- Philips USB PCVC675K
- Webcam III
- TerraCAM USB
- Plustek OptiCam 300U

lomoco 1.0
lomoco can configure vendor-specific options on Logitech USB mice. more>>
lomoco is a fork of lmctl, since we were not able to get in contact with the lmctl developer.
lomoco can configure vendor-specific options on Logitech USB mice (or dual-personality mice plugged into the USB port). A number of recent devices are supported.
The program is mostly useful in setting the resolution to 800 cpi or higher on mice that boot at 400 cpi (such as the MX500, MX510, MX1000 etc.), and disabling SmartScroll or Cruise Control for those who would rather use the two extra buttons as ordinary mouse buttons.
Report New Mouse
Send us the ouput of the following commands to the developer mailing list (see below):
cat /proc/bus/input/devices
lsusb -v
We need the name of the mouse and the model name too. You can find on the hardware, look for M/N: ...
If it is a cordless mouse, we need the model name from both the mouse and the receiver! What kind of receiver is it (bluetooth)?
Enhancements:
- The udev rules and script have been updated for the latest version.
- A patch has been added for the MX518, MX510, MX310, and MX3100.
- A lomoco.xml man page template has been added. udev support has been updated.
- Memory leaks have been fixed.

arm0nia 0.2
arm0nia is a modular desktop environment. more>>
arm0nia (harmony) is a group of projects that intend to create software for making UNIX and UNIX like operating systems, more powerfull and friendly. Our first goal is to create a Dynamic Modular Desktop Environment.
Installation
1. pm.conf
The PM needs to known on which directory it is installed.
1.1. Copy the pack/pm.conf to /etc
1.2. Fix the directory variable pmdir of the pm.conf with the correct path.
Example:
If the daemon is located in directory /opt/pm/
Make sure, that the following line is exist in /etc/pm.conf
pmdir=/opt/pm
2. LD_LIBRARY_PATH
We must update ldconfigs path to check our libraries and modules. That can be done with several ways.
Note: in the following examples, I suppose that PM is located on /opt/pm
2.a. The best is to update the /etc/ld.so.conf
Open that file and append two new paths.
If our PMs directory is the /opt/pm add the following lines
/opt/pm/lib
/opt/pm/plugins
Save the file and update the cache by running ldconfig without parameters
2.b. Another way is to update the LD_LIBRARY_PATH at the system startup.
2.b.1. on bash
Open the /etc/profile and append the following lines.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/pm/lib:/opt/pm/plugins export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
2.b.2. on tcsh
Open the /etc/csh.cshrc and append the following line.
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /opt/pm/lib:/opt/pm/plugins
Finally do a reboot (you can avoid it, but if you known how, then you dont need to read my doc).
2.c. Another way is to update the LD_LIBRARY_PATH at the shells login script.
The shells login scripts are for bash: ~/.profile for tcsh: ~/.login
You must append the same text as for 2.b case
2.d. Of course, you can do it manually from CLI, but if you are new, use the 2.b case
3. make
Suppose that PM is located on /opt/pm
Use make on
/opt/pm to create daemon and libraries
/opt/pm/plugins to create the plugins
/opt/pm/apps to create the applications
4. run
Run pmd on a virtual-console and try the application on another.

Improv 5.1
Improv is a tool for basic real time image processing at low resolution, e.g. suitable for mobile robots. more>>
Improv is a tool for basic real time image processing at low resolution, e.g. suitable for mobile robots.
Improv program has been developed for PCs with the Linux operating system and runs under X Windows.
Improv works with a number of inexpensive low-resolution digital cameras (no framegrabber required).
Main features:
- Modular design, allowing for easy integration of new functionality.
- Image processing operations are contained within plugins, compiled as statically
- linked files (.so), which can be loaded and unloaded at run time.
- Improved support for still image sequences.
- An abstract Camera class, simplifying the creation of new camera drivers.
- A completely customisable interface, allowing for complex image processing sequences.
- Written using the QT Windowing library.
- Portable autoconf/automake build scripts.
Improv also includes support for the following cameras:
- Quickcam grayscale camera (parallel port) [no longer sold]
- Make sure to set the protocol of your parallel port correctly (boot-up setting to either ECP or EPP should work).
- Quickcam Color V2 camera (parallel port) [no longer sold]
- Sorry, none of the newer QuickCams work - Connectix/Logitech refuses to disclose the low-level interface.
- Various web cameras with cpia driver, e.g. ZoomCam
- Video 4 Linux cameras
- and preliminary support for Video 4 Linux 2 cameras.
Improv displays the source image (from either a still image or a live camera) in the first window, while subsequent image operations can be applied to this image in five more windows. For each sub-window, a sequence of image processing routines may be specified.
