KLiveJournal 0.6
KLiveJournal is a KDE client primarily for the LiveJournal.com site. more>>
KLiveJournal is a KDE client primarily for the LiveJournal.com site, but it should work with any other journal provider that uses the software from livejournal.org.
You will have to build from source. So you will need the development files for KDE and the Qt3 libs.
A compiler is also a good idea.
Installation:
Extract the archive and build with
./configure
make
make install
./configure --prefix=/usr is propably better.
Enhancements:
- LJIO::Scheduler now processes jobs that cannot interfere simultaneously
- Added Friends Editor
- KWallet no longer complains about missing window id
- The password dialog is now centered properly on the mainwindow
- values that where not decoded as utf8 are treated correctly now( group name, login message, location property)
- fixed bug causing the client to hang on kde session restore
- Event browser now saves the listview layout

libopkele 0.3
libopkele is a C++ implementation of an OpenID decentralized identity system. more>>
libopkele is a C++ implementation of an OpenID decentralized identity system.
libopkele provides OpenID protocol handling, leaving authentication and user interaction to the implementor.
Normally, I do not jump on the emerging technologies, especially in the blogging arena, but this one is truly brilliant. Besides, despite its livejournal origins, the very idea doesnt have much to do with blogging.
In case you happen to be aware of the so called rest of the world existance, you may be as well aware of the frustrating experience to secure a visa to enter any particular territory and having to ask whatever country you happen to live in for assistance in confirming your identity. As if being yourself is not enough!
The same goes for Internet. It is much more pleasant to prove that you are what you are by being yourself and to carry your very own identity around. Furthermore, you dont have to force people to submit to your authority for the sole purpose of being recognized (if you want them to, youre not interested in this system and I am not interested in you either).
The library is semi-documented using doxygen markup. You may wish to make dox target to build the documentation.
Enhancements:
- Standards-compliance of URL canonicalization was improved along with association expiry handling.
- The documentation was updated slightly.

ljKlient is a KDE LiveJournal client, written in Python 2.4 (as such, it requires PyQt and PyKDE for KDE 3.x).
ljKlient project is currently in an early phase, but the 0.0.x series is useable. It supports posting to shared journals, selecting userpics, LiveJournal-supplied moods and custom ones, current music, tags and simple post security (public-private-friendsonly).
Enhancements:
- German translation by Schneelocke;
- Hungarian, Swedish and Russian translations updated
- Hungarian is deemed nplurals=1, plural=0 by KDE3, whereas GNU (correctly) thinks it is nplurals=2, plural=n!=1 at least in some cases.
- Spellchecking is now enabled by default
- Added support for the system menu, .desktop file places the app to menu:/Internet
- Friendlist update dialog now uses a KTextBrowser, can click on user links, profile icons, just like in LiveJournal.
- A minor change to the icons (shifted them one pixel down)
- Some changes to the translatable strings in friendlist

blogBuddies provides an RSS and Atom aggregator that emulates the LiveJournal Friends page.
blogBuddies gathers RSS and Atom feeds into a layout similar to the LiveJournal Friends page. It is optimized for blogs, and works with Blogger, LiveJournal, DeadJournal, GreatestJournal, Xanga, RSS, and Atom feeds.
About blogBuddies
I originally started writing blogBuddies in my spare time as a response to the lack of a LiveJournal-type friends system in Blogger. Over the course of a few months, blogBuddies grew from a paltry, one-user system to a full multi-user, themable system supporting both LiveJournal and Blogger.
Going from there, blogBuddies was expanded to offer service for GreatestJournal, DeadJournal, Xanga, and RSS/Atom feeds. In the next release (0.4), blogBuddies will support MySpace blogs. I still write blogBuddies in my spare time, and do not know what I want to do with it at this point. If anyone wishes to help, they are free to PM me.
Enhancements:
- Added RSS and Atom support (URLs)
- Code cleanup
- Changed the UserAgent so that publishers can see blogBuddies
- Added support for GreatestJournal, DeadJournal, and Xanga
- Cross-site scripting: A PATCH IS NOW AVAILALBE - patch zip contains only the changed files

JLJ 2.11
JLJ is a text-only LiveJournal.com client. more>>
JLJ is Jerrys LiveJournal entry system. JLJ project It is very simple to use. Just setup a .livejournal.rc file in your home directory with your username and password, and run the jlj script.
It prompts you for your Subject and Body text, and sends it off.
If you have either the shell variable "EDITOR" ir "VISUAL"set, it will use that instead of the Old School BBS style editor.
It lets you make, edit and postpone entries on or offline. You can queue up posts to be submitted when you connect up to the net, or leave them in your postponed folder indefinitely.
It only requires the base install of perl and the socket libraries, which should be installed on most unix based systems. This might work on some ports of perl off of unix-based systems, but I highly doubt it will work.
Enhancements:
- This version adds support for "tags" and minor bugfixes over 2.9 and 2.10.
