Ubuntu Lites idea is to bring the power of Ubuntu across to the users of Legacy systems. So not just to make a small linux as this has been done before (Puppy Linux, Damn Small linux, the Rule Project). Nor to make a useable linux based desktop Operating system (that has been done with Ubuntu Linux, Beatrix).

The idea is to bring the power of Ubuntu to the typical users of Legacy hardware (ie the grandma who gets an old P2 set up for her but does not know how to use it).

So to this end the Operating system needs to be:

* Easily used by people with minimal computer skills
* Useable on a resurected system (see system specifications below)
* and is able to satisfy a typical users requirement of Applications and functionality.

These are the three core aims of the Ubuntu Lite Project.

We will also provide development guides to anyone who wants to trim down their versions or help others use linux on reconditioned hardware. I hope that you enjoy Ubuntu Lite and that you find it useful.

MIME::Lite is a low-calorie MIME generator Perl module.

In the never-ending quest for great taste with fewer calories, we proudly present: MIME::Lite.

MIME::Lite is intended as a simple, standalone module for generating (not parsing!) MIME messages... specifically, it allows you to output a simple, decent single- or multi-part message with text or binary attachments. It does not require that you have the Mail:: or MIME:: modules installed.

You can specify each message part as either the literal data itself (in a scalar or array), or as a string which can be given to open() to get a readable filehandle (e.g., "
You dont need to worry about encoding your message data: this module will do that for you. It handles the 5 standard MIME encodings.

If you need more sophisticated behavior, please get the MIME-tools package instead. I will be more likely to add stuff to that toolkit over this one.

SOAP::Lite is a client and server side SOAP implementation.
SOAP::Lite is a collection of Perl modules which provides a simple and lightweight interface to the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) both on client and server side.
Main features:
- Supports SOAP 1.1 spec.
- Interoperability tests with different implementations: Apache SOAP, Apache Axis, Frontier, Microsoft SOAP, Microsoft .NET, DevelopMentor, XMethods, 4s4c, Phalanx, PocketSOAP, Kafka, SQLData, Lucin (in Java, Perl, C++, Python, VB, COM, XSLT).

Jabber::Lite is a standalone library for communicating with Jabber servers.

GOALS

Jabber::Lite is intended to be a pure perl library for interacting with Jabber servers, and be able to run under any version of perl that has the Sockets library.

Jabber::Lite is, as the name implies, a small lite library for dealing with Jabber servers, implemented entirely in perl. Whilst it is small, it does try to be fairly complete for common tasks.
Whats in the box? Jabber::Lite is able to connect to a Jabber server, read from the socket, and supply XML objects to the application as the application reads them. Its function calls are mostly compatible with Jabber::NodeFactory and Jabber::Connection. Surprisingly, it can also function as a stand-alone XML parser (which was not the authors original intent, but hey, it works).
Whats not in the box? Any requirement for a recent perl version, UTF-8 support, as well as a fully XML-compliant Parser.

Applications using this library will need to be aware that this library uses a combination of pull and push methods of supplying XML objects. Handlers for given object types can be put in place, however if an object is not fully handled by a Handler, the object will block further objects until the Application retrieves it. Read the notes on ->process and ->get_latest() for further details.

The inbuilt parser, fully implemented in perl, is more properly termed an XML Recogniser. If you want a fully compliant XML Parser, look elsewhere. This one recognises just enough XML for its purposes.

PDFlib is a widely used programming library which allows the programmer to generate and manipulate files in Adobes well known Portable Document Format (PDF) and integrate this ability into any application or server environment.

The project is available for all major operating environments (12 different packages) and development environments.

The new release offers a variety of new and improved functions, including a new table formatter, PDF/A output for longtime archiving, AES encryption, integrated pCOS analyzing tools, a repair and optimization mode for input PDFs, and numerous other new features.

Table formatting. The new table formatter in PDFlib 7 creates complex tables automatically. The new table formatter simplifies the process of generating PDF files with tables on the fly, such as catalogs, invoices, or database reports.

PDF/A for archiving. PDFlib is one of the first tools worldwide to generate output according to the PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b standards. Existing PDF/A documents can be imported by PDFlib and combined or split.

Quick.Cms.Lite provides a simple, fast message board with category filtering and a flat file backend.
Quick.Cms.Lite is a fast, simple, and multilingual content management system. It is based on flat files and does not require a SQL database.
It supports full administration for pages, subpages, photos, and files.
This application is based on the flat files database, like our other projects. Useful for web page designers, web page programmers and also, for those who just want to manage their own web page.
A Tool which makes work on the web side simple and easy, because it allows everyone who logs in to administration, to manage it. Our experiences with clients helped us to create web administration which is simple for everyone to edit it, add and delete pages, subpages, pictures and files.

Bio::Das::Lite is a Perl extension for the DAS (HTTP+XML) Protocol.
