TA-Linux is a free Linux distribution, that targets Linux power users. TA-Linuxs main goal is to have a small base installation that the end-user can expand to include the software he needs.

The secondary goal is to support as many different architectures as possible.
At this time i386, Alpha, PPC and MIPS are fully supported with Sparc and PA-RISC around the corner.

Extra software not included in the base is handled using a system like the *BSD ports/gentoo portagee/etc called Collection, that handles installation, upgrading and dependencies.

The primary way of installing new software is to download the source, compile and install it (totally automatic). The user can also choose to install already built binary packages, also automatically using the Collection system.

Parsix GNU/Linux is a live CD based on Knoppix and Debian Sid . It uses GNOME as its default desktop environment. Parsix GNU/Linux supports Persian keyboard and user can switch to Persian with Alt+Shift keys.
Parsix GNU/Linux can be installed on your harddisk and you can use it as your PCs operating system. We also included xFarDic English-Persian dictionary and Persian free fonts from FPF project.

- An updated version of Parsix GNU/Linux 0.90, code name Barry, has been released. Barry r1 introduces the projects first ever 64-bit edition, both 32-bit and 64-bit editions have been built from scratch using debootstrap, several fixes have been made, and merged all published updates from Parsix and Debian testing repositories as of Aug 15, 2007. Highlights: GNOME 2.18.3, Linux kernel 2.6.20.1 with CK and Suspend2 patches, read/write mode is the default for NTFS partitions, improved hardware detection system and hard disk installer, VLC replaces Totem.

Xpress Linux is a Kubuntu-based distribution developed with a goal of making Linux more accessible to Windows users.

The new theme looks very nice its very brushed and modern looking, its just small things that really impress me, like how when I scroll over to the close button it fades silently into red.

The programs it comes with are very standard but nice nonetheless I really appreciate the Wireless Assistant LAN manager, it works flawlessly. Also I had direct access to all my files on a Windows PC easy through Konqueror, unfortunately we are not finished with the wine setup so the programs didnt work off the bat but you had to install them (Note: this should be fixed in the final version).

There is still no installer, but that will be there soon. So everything is on schedule and expect the November 30th release date (maybe even earlier!)

Enhancements:
- Technalign, Inc. has released Pioneer Basic 2.1 of its base Linux operating system. Pioneer Basic 2.1 is being released on DVD. Technalign will continue to ship Pioneer Basic 2.0 for those users who do not wish to purchase a DVD drive for their systems. Pioneer Basic 2.1 is similar to Basic 2.0 with several exceptions. The biggest exception is that Pioneer 2.1 is based on Feisty and not Edgy while it continues to be based on Kubuntu. Adept is no longer incorporated as the update manager, but is now replaced with Synaptic per the business and consumer communities. Also notable are the Guarddog Firewall as well as the KlamAV anti-virus utilities that have been added and OpenOffice.org 2.2.

MURIX Linux is a distribution based on LinuxFromScratch for building bootable CD-ROMs.

Since you build it from source, MURIX should function on almost any hardware.
