Linux Mobile System 1.0
Linux Mobile System (LMS) is a full Linux system whose support is the new USB Flash Memory Drives. more>>
Linux Mobile System project (LMS) is a full Linux system whose support is the new USB Flash Memory Drives. The intention is to boot any PC with USB support with our system and therefore we will have every administration and analysis applications that we have selected, so we will not need install it. This way, always we will be able to get our Linux system ready to use in our pocket.
This project arose with the intention to study the Linux system of exhaustive way and simultaneously enjoy with it. The initial idea is to fuse two separated disciplines: the programming and the systems management. So well center our study in the denominated "system programming, as much networking level as at device level (drivers).
Main features:
- To initiate our Linux system from memories flash USB.
- The system will be a selection of common GNU tools in every system: disk diagnosis, memory, hardware, networks monitoring tools, etc.
- LMS Tux
- As far as possible well develop new tools and/or utilities with the objective to study deeply the underlying technology.
- The programming languages used will be C, C++, Python and Perl, without forget the system shell scripts.
- The resources minimization (disk space, memory...) isnt a functional objective of the developments.
LMSs main aim is to achieve a highly specialized distribution of GNU/Linux which can carried through the USB Flash Memory Drives. Once the distribution is ready in the USB device, it can be carried in your own pocket and you can start up any PC x86 with no need to install it directly in the PC.
The LMS system is aimed at the development of specific tasks such as network administration, security analysis of networks, and recovery and repair of host data, as well as all information exchange, which is what makes it different from other portable systems such as "live CDs". The main idea is to carry all the potency of Linux and our tools in our own pockets, ready to be used.

Linux trustees 3.0
Linux trustees is an advanced file permission system for Linux more>>
The main goal of the Linux Trustees project is to create an advanced permission management system for Linux. The solution proposed is mainly inspired by the approach taken by Novell Netware and the Java security API.
Special objects (called trustees) can be bound to every file or directory. The trustee object can be used to ensure that access to a file, directory, or directory with subdirectories is granted (or denied) to a certain user or group (or all except user or group).
Trustees are like POSIX ACLs, but trustee objects can affect entire subdirectory trees, while ACLs a single file. Trustees works with the 2.6 Linux kernel.

Linux Cluster Manager 2.75-1
Linux Cluster Manager is a graphical tool for managing multiple Linux systems from a central location. more>>
Linux Cluster Manager is a graphical tool for managing multiple Linux systems from a central location. Meant primarily for Beowulf style clusters, it has many useful features for general system administration and even some non Linux specific possibilities like block level imaging.
Imaging with LCM is quick and easy as each node has its IP and hostname changed ready for boot as an independant node preloaded with all of your applications. Using a file based image, items can be changed such as the target device, the file system capacity, or even the file system type. Imagine requiring a new partition on boot disks already filled across hundreds of machines. It is a simple property change, re-image the node(s), and you are ready to go.
Image creation can be done from a running system or LCM can remote power on a node through WOL, PXE boot it, collect an image, and power off the node when complete.
All operations are simple point and click, no command line options to remember (these are optional), or complicated setup.
Main features:
- Easy to use GUI for all operations
- Real time status information for all nodes
- Connect to individual nodes via a user specified protocol (ssh, rsh, rlogin ,etc)
- Report on running processes across the cluster
Imaging Features
- Imaged nodes have IP and hostname information changed automatically, just image and boot
- Block level system imaging (can be used for any x86 based operating system)
- File level system imaging
- Wake on LAN for imaging
- Preconfigured for PXE boot of clients
- Images can be customized - target device changed, file system size, file system type
Monitor Features
- Real time status monitoring for all nodes, CPU and Network
- Scrolling, scalable graphs
- View all nodes or a subset you are interested in
Scripting Features
- Run scripts across the cluster or on select nodes without a client agent
- Connects via a user selected protocol with secure authentication
- Command line or GUI interface
- Can be incorporated into external scripts

T2 Linux 7.0 RC1
T2 is not just a common Linux distribution it is a flexible open source System Development Environment. more>>
With T2 you can define targets for various purposes, ranging from embedded linux systems with a few MB of size over server configurations to a full desktop system featuring X.Org foundation, KDE, Gnome, OpenOffice.Org and many more.
Those targets can be compiled for use on the most common architectures (ARM, Alpha, HPPA/HPPA64, ia64, MIPS, PowerPC/PowerPC64, Sparc/Sparc64 and x86/x86-64 - theoretically any GCC/Linux supported one).
T2 comes with many predefined targets (desktop, router, live CD ...) and over 1400 package descriptions ready to build.
T2 features an automated build system which manages the whole compilation process including a possible installer CD creation. After initial creation of the build-tool chain, all packages are built inside a sandbox environment to monitor installed files and dependencies automatically. The build system can also modify the execution of various programs to provide a generic way to control compiler flags and file manipulations.
The T2 framework allows the creation of individual custom build target definitions and to customize any build aspect, as well as every single package built for it. Due to the nature of the clean source packages and its automatic build system, T2 is highly portable. It includes support for ARM, Alpha, HPPA/HPPA64, ia64, MIPS, PowerPC, x86, sparc/sparc64 and x86-64. Adding new architectures is easy and can be done within a day!
Since the automatic build system controls the whole build, it can transform compiler arguments used by the various packages on-the-fly. This allows adapting the optimization for the specified CPU platform, thus accelerating your product over its current limits.
During T2 development, measurements are used to assure the high quality level defined by the developers. The sandbox environment is used to review the content installed by the packages, as well as the preconditions needed to build the package. In addition, a regression tester automatically verifies cross builds for the supported architectures and tracks the build status for every package included in T2.
With all the points outlined above, T2 offers a solid base and a flexible framework for integration with your custom applications. The state-of-the-art technology reduces the development time and the time to market.
Many end users and system administrators enjoy T2 with its clean and tested packages for daily home or office use.
With developers around the world, T2 is best suited for commercial scale products, especially in the embedded and high performance clustering market.
T2 aims to be open for active maintainers. Currently seven people have write access to the T2 Subversion repository. This organization provides for delivery of quick bug and security fixes (not relying on a single person in the process) and offers a nice development climate.
