X-Launch 0.5

X-Launch 0.5

X-Launch is a GTK-based skinnable run dialog. more>>
X-Launch is a GTK-based skinnable run dialog.
It has bash style autocompletion, skin support, and animations to let you know when a slow application is launching.
It can function like other run dialogs, but you can also tell it to stay resident in memory and hide itself after it launches an application.
X-Launch not only looks better then any other Run dialog, but is more powerful and faster then most. It will manage its own hotkey, so you dont have to have a window manager that supports hotkeys and it doesnt have to launch every time you want to launch an application.
For those of you out there that are avid keyboard users, especially for launching applications, then this program is for you.
Main features:
- Launch applications easily from a command interface
- Fresh looking skinable user interface
- Set a hotkey to bring up the launch window
- Animations to let you know a slow program is launching
- Full command history that has smart sorting (last used, first shown)
- Inline command history, no need for using arrows or tab to select command
- Tab completion for executable file in your path
- Tab completion for directories
- Edit your history easily.
- Configurable behavor after an application is launched.
- Smart app technology that will figure out if you have typed a valid application.

TabLaunch is a simple and lightweight but cool-looking X application launch bar based on YeahLaunch. It displays a user-specified list of applications as tabs along the top of the screen.

The user can specify an x coordinate offset to position the launch bar or right-align it. The launch bar becomes hidden after a specified delay.

Each tab can be displayed as text or an icon. Tabs are "enlarged" or zoomed-in when the mouse is over a tab. Imlib or Imlib2 can be used to show and enlarge icons.

GTK-Launch 1.1

GTK-Launch is a GTK program launcher. more>>
GTK-Launch is a small GTK program launcher.
Its the equivalent of "Run Command" in KDE, GNOME, or Windows.
It features command history, and runs the command if valid (otherwise it lets the box stay there, waiting for a correction).
Enhancements:
- the window now appears centered on the screen
- important bugfix: PATH can now be used correctly ! (before it would destroy the current copy of the environment variables by strcatting the HOME variable)
- translated error messages into english.
- now the prog can handle .launch files with not as many lines as announced by the MEMOIRE setting. It replaces them with "".

liblauch 1.0.0

liblauch 1.0.0

liblauch is a simple library enables you you launch another program from within a program. more>>
liblauch is a simple library enables you you launch another program from within a program. It handles the intricacies of fork(2) and execve(2) for you.

It returns a couple of pipes that are connected to the launched programs stdin and stdout. It also contains a function to terminate the launched program.

BUILDING THE LIBRARY

Invoking the "make" command gives you a list of all possible options.

The usual invocation for a system-wide installation of the library would be to do "make all", "make test", login as root, and then do a "make install".

Alternatively you can embed the library in your own program, by sticking it into a subdirectory, and invoking "make static" there.

USING THE LIBRARY

See the manual pages launch_program.3 and kill_program.3 on how to use the functions.

Slauth 0.02

Slauth 0.02

Slauth is a Perl-based authentication and authorization module for Apache HTTPD 2. more>>
Slauth is a Perl-based authentication and authorization module for Apache HTTPD 2. Slauth project has a plugin architecture. The main plugin initially available allows subscribers of specific Mailman mail lists to self-register for authenticated web site access.

This code has been in operation since Spring 2004. But documentation is currently needed.

HISTORY

Slauth was originally developed for use by Stratofox, an amateur aerospace tracking and recovery team. (Sometimes this has also been called "nearspacecraft hunting".)

The ability to have users self-register based on Mailman mail list subscriptions resulted mostly from discussions with two rocket-building groups that Stratofox works with. The rocket-builders parted paths and didnt want each others private information available to the other. At the time both were nearly ready to attmept the first non-government space launch. After some discussion, this capability was developed by Stratofox during the search for an acceptable method to continue to
work with both groups and continue to participate in their launches.

INSTALLATION

Note: instead of using ExtUtils::MakeMaker, the installation process is based on Module::Build (which is intended to supersede it.) The process is similar, using Build.PL instead of Makefile.PL and our own generated Build script (made by Build.PL) instead of your systems make command.

To install this module type the following:

perl Build.PL
Build
Build test
Build install

GlassHUDX is a beautiful system monitoring theme for SuperKaramba. more>>
GlassHUDX is a beautiful system monitoring theme for SuperKaramba. GlassHUDX is inspired by the wonderful GlassHUD theme from mytharak. It uses modified versions of the backgrounds and some of the layout ideas.

GlassHUDX consists of the following widgets:

Glassmem - a memory sensor widget

Displays total memory, used memory, free memory w/o buffers/cache and free memory including buffers/cache.
Middle-clicking the widget displays the top 10 processes using memory resources.

Glasscpu - a simple CPU monitor

Displays CPU type and CPU clock and shows CPU usage as graph.
Middle-clicking the widget displays the top 10 processes using CPU resources.
The design is very close to the original GlassHUD CPU monitor.

Glassclock - a simple time and date display

Simple clock in 12/24 hour format.
Launches Korganizer when you click on the date meter.
Configuration option for 24 hour or 12 hour display.
Configuration option for date format strings.

Glasstemp - a sensor widget

Displays CPU temperature, MB temperature and CPU fan speed.
Temperatures are in Celsius. To display temperatures in
Fahrenheit, add TEMPUNIT=F to the KARAMBA line in glasstemp.theme.

You need the sensors program installed for this widget to work.

Glassmounter - a device mounter inspired by Ibayuks MountApp for WMaker

Mounts devices and displays the mount state of the selected device. Any number of devices can be added. The selected device can be mounted, unmounted or ejected (if supported). Clicking on the device name mounts the device (if unmounted) and launches a filemanger. The filemanager command can be configured (default is "kfmclient exec").

Glasswifi - a wireless monitor and launch widget

Starts/stops a wireless interface.
Displays the link quality and either signal/noise level or bytes in/out.
The wireless interface can be set through the configuration menu (default is ath0)

Have a look at the README for the configuration of the widgets

Potracegui 1.3.4

Potracegui 1.3.4

Potracegui is a GUI interface for potrace and autotrace two programs for tracing bitmapped images. more>>
Potracegui is a GUI interface for potrace and autotrace, two programs for tracing bitmapped images.
It really doesnt do much, all the dirt work is done by potrace and autotrace, my app is simply an interface: it collects informations in an easy way (hopefully) and then it launches potrace or autotrace with all the relevant options.
Potrace and autotrace, on the contrary, are great apps for tracing so that they can be scaled, rotated, and transformed in general, without loss of quality.
Well, using a GUI sometimes is more comfortable (particularly if working with images), even if Im a strong supporter of command-line programs. On the other hand, Potracegui (thanks to Jakub Stachowski) can now load remote files (web, ftp...), use any image format recognized by KDE (potrace uses only a few bitmapped formats) and support drag and drop.
Installation:
Potracegui is installed with the usual:
./configure
make
su
make install
Installation on SuSE linux + kde 3.1 or KDE 3.2
If you are using SuSE, you have to specify to configure the directory where KDE is installed (/opt/kde3):
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3
make
su
make install
Installation on Mandrake 9.2 with KDE3.2:
If you are using Mandrake and NVIDIA drivers, you have to consider two problems before compiling Potracegui:
Potracegui expects to find the library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.la, but in this distribution the library is installed in /usr/lib/libGL.la. All you have to do is symlink it:
cd /usr/X11R6/lib
ln -s /usr/lib/libGL.la .
Enhancements:
- Quick bugfix: deleted debug() method from options.cpp

Crystal Audio 2.0

Crystal Audio 2.0

CrystalAudio is a FVWM-Crystal configuration tuned for use on an audio workstation. more>>
CrystalAudio is a FVWM-Crystal configuration tuned for use on an audio workstation. It has many new applications for the menu, including many sound-related applications and improved sound controls. The project launches qjackctl at startup.
The final goal of the project is to make the FVWM-Crystal menu compatible with the freedesktop specification and to provide some tools to generate the menu entries and icons from desktop and icon files provided by the applications in the system.
Enhancements:
- generate-fvwm-crystal-menu work with both new and old type application desktop files, so it is time for the 2.0 version.
- A lot of debugging have been done on that script: See the ChangeLog for the details.
- Added support for stalonetray in all the recipes.
