PlanetPenguin Racer is an FREE OpenGL racing game featuring Tux, the Linux mascot.

The goal of the game is to slide down a snow- and ice-covered mountain as quickly as possible. It is based on the GPL version of TuxRacer.

Konference is (or better: will be) a video-conferencing application for KDE. Since the rewrite (2005/01/25) it supports SIP as the signalling protocol. No longer H323 folks.

Diago is the dialog-based system to easily create nested menus, execute programs and start connections to remote systems in the console sessions. This project is released under the terms of GPL v3 or later.

While dialog is good to create a single… well, dialog… in the console mode, Diago extends it adding a possibility to quickly and easily create a nested menu.

mp3plot project prints out a plot of the bitrate distribution of a VBR MP3 file (it will also do it for CBR files although it isnt very meaningful).

It should be architecture independent but I havent tested beyond PCs.
Theres a much more mature tool that does the same and more: mp3stat at signal-lost.homeip.net/projects. mp3stat refuses to work on my system(s) and having an interest in mp3s internal structure I gave a shot at it with mp3plot.

assniffer is an auto saving sniffer for windows and linux.

assniffer can monitor (using pcap) a network, and for every HTTP transfer it sees, save a copy of the transferred data.

This is less for sinister uses, and more for taking advantage of the already-transferred data that your computer may be exposed to.

Linux users should install libpcap, and tools to enable compiling.

Compilation:

- Go to the source/assniffer directory and type make.

smp-encode is a compact utility that encodes groups of audio files in parallel to make use of multiple CPUs with single threaded encoders.
smp-encode project supports supports OggEnc and LAME.
Usage:
smp-encode is invoked with 3 mandatory arguments.
-e < encoder > where encoder is one of the available builtin modules, "lame" or "oggenc" as of now. encoder arguments are hardcoded in encoder.cpp, but in the future these will be defined on smp-encodes commandline.
-p < N > where N refers to any number over over 0. This will cause smp-encode to generate N processes to be used to encode the given files. Given files are evenly distributed.
The last mandatory argument is a choice between a list of files, either given explicitly or via wildcard (eg. ./*.wav) or the -d < directory > argument.
As of now, successful invocations dont display anything during runtime, in the future some progress info will be reported.
Compile:
You should be fine with just running make and then make install. This will generate a program named smp-encode that is stripped. And throw it in /usr/local/bin
If you need to add encoders or edit the argvs of them, encoder.cpp is where all that stuff is done.
Enhancements:
- A complete rewrite using the GTK+2.0 UI.
- Thread control (pause and cancel).
- Many options from LAME and oggenc are implemented in the GUI.
- Progress bars indicate individual thread progress.
- Many other tweaks and bugfixes related to the rewrite.

GNUsTicker is a GNOME panel applet RSS aggregator like KNewsTicker for KDE.

It may be extended for feeding from differente sources (an example for POP3 mail server is provided).
