KSetiSpy 0.6.4
KSetiSpy is a SETI@home utility for GNU/Linux. more>>
KSetiSpy is a KDE utility that monitors the progress of the SETI@home client, and displays all kinds of information about the work unit(s) being processed.
It uses the same interface as SETI Spy, a Windows program written by Roelof Engelbrecht.
The SETI@home project started in May 1999; its goal is to harness the power of distributed computing to analyze radio signals from space, for "the small but captivating possibility of detecting the faint murmur of a civilization beyond Earth".
To participate in this exciting project, all you have to do is to run the SETI@home client program. This program downloads a set of data (usually called "work unit") from the SETI@home servers, processes it on the local machine (using idle processing time that would otherwise go wasted), and then transmits the result back to the servers.
Over time, SETI@home participants people have become more and more interested in learning everything about the data contained in these work units and the computations done on them. To address these needs, several SETI@home monitoring add-on programs were developed. These extract interesting information from the SETI@home client and present it in a user-friendly way.
One of the most complete SETI@home monitoring tools available today is a Windows program named SETI Spy. KSetiSpy has been created with the intent of providing a version of SETI Spy for my favorite desktop environment (KDE). KSetiSpy borrows most of its user interface conventions from SETI Spy, so SETI Spy users will feel immediately at home with KSetiSpy.
KSetiSpy started as a programming experiment in KDE in June 2001, and has grown a lot since then, mainly to keep up with the ever-increasing feature set of its Windows counterpart. Like many open source projects, its basically the work of a single developer (that would be me), working on it on his spare time. Therefore advancement is not linear, and debugging is mostly left to the users (that would be you). If you run into a bug, please report it to Roberto Virga
Enhancements:
- fixed RA and Dec formatting
- fixed julian date conversion (was off by 6 hours - thanks to Bengt-Erik Soderstrom for reporting this)
- fixed constellation links (the P.A.S. re-organized their web site)

miau 0.6.4
miau is a small, fully featured IRC bouncer/proxy. more>>
miau is a small, fully featured IRC bouncer and IRC proxy.
The biggest difference of miau and HTTP-proxy (forgetting the fact they talk all different protocols) is that when IRC-client disconnects from bouncer, the connection to the server isnt necessarily lost.
This way your nick can stay online and cannot be taken by the others. In case bouncer loses the nick because of netsplit or other disruption, it can try to get it back automatically.
Some people may also like the fact that when using bouncer, your hostname appearing in IRC is the one of the machine the bouncer is running at, not the one you are IRCing from.
miau was written on GNU/Linux (i386), but it should compile on most UNIX-platforms.
Main features:
- Permanent connection to IRC-server
- Can set user away when client quits and can also use users quit-message as away-message.
- Ability to try to get primary nick
- Logging (recent log can be replayed automatically at reconnect like you already had been on the channel)
- Message forwarding
- DCC-bouncing
- Auto-mode (without mode-flood)
- Flood protection
- On-connect sent messages (to keep nickservs etc. happy)
- Ability to survive even if some pings to server are lost
- V-host support
- Preliminary IPv6-support (untested)
- Cats in ASCII
- Support for multiple clients (one at home, one at office)
- Permission-chains
- Portable, written in C
- Compiles (at least) on GNU/Linux (i386/StrongARM/Alpha), HP-UX (HP 9000/C3000), SunOS (sun4m/sun4u/sun4c), Digital UNIX (Alpha) and MacOSX (PPC). Not tested on others.
- Small (my miau is about 50 kB KiB on GNU/Linux on i386)
- Most features can be left uncompiled
- Released under GPL
Enhancements:
- This release fixes several issues with Undernet-like servers, and improves your chances of staying online in case of netsplit and network problems.
- The behaviour of the wildcard "*" is finally predictable, although non-greedy.

gtktetcolor 0.6.4
gtktetcolor project is a small Tetris clone for X. more>>
gtktetcolor project is a small Tetris clone for X.
gtktetcolor is a GTK+ reimplementation of tetcolor, a Tetris-like game.
GtkTetcolor is a game that resembles well-known tetris and columns. The rules of the game are simple - you can move or rotate the block which continue to fall.
After block landing the sequence of at least three cells horizontally, vertically or diagonally having matching colors is removed and the above blocks will collapse.
If two or more sequences will be removed simultaneously the player has got bonus points. The game will be over when new block cannot be placed on screen.
I wrote GtkTetcolor with Glade.

cgdb 0.6.4
cgdb is a lightweight, but fully functional curses frontend to gdb. more>>
CGDB is a curses-based interface to the GNU Debugger (GDB). cgdbs goal is to be lightweight and responsive; not encumbered with unnecessary features.
The interface is designed to deliver the familiar GDB text interface, with a split screen showing the source as it executes. The UI is modeled on the classic Unix text editor, vi. Those familiar with vi should feel right at home using CGDB.
The library responsible for communicating with GDB is called Trivial GDB (tgdb, or more accurately, libtgdb). This abstraction allows the UI code to be independent of the debugger, as well as greatly simplifying its implementation.
Those wanting to develop other interfaces to GDB are welcome to use libtgdb as the basis for their program. Many of the headaches of parsing GDBs output and annotations can be avoided by using it.
Main features:
- Syntax-highlighted source window
- Visual breakpoint setting
- Keyboard shortcuts for common functions
- Searching source window (using regexp)
Installation
CGDB could not have been written without the use of other libraries. CGDB depends on
1. CGDB depends on readline-development-4.2 or greater.
If you dont have this, you might get a link error that looks something like this, undefined symbol, rl_set_prompt.
2. CGDB depends on ncurses/curses.
The version number is not known. I have used libncurses.so.5 successfully.
3. If you decide to modify the tokenizer library or the config file module, you will need to have flex installed.
I have used flex 2.5.4 to build cgdb.
4. CGDB uses autoconf/automake to build its configure scripts and makefiles. So, if you change any of the autoconf/automake files, you will need this software installed.
- aclocal (GNU automake) 1.7
- autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.57
- libtool (GNU libtool) 1.4.3
- m4 (GNU m4) 1.4
<<lessThe interface is designed to deliver the familiar GDB text interface, with a split screen showing the source as it executes.

Cooperative Linux 0.6.4
Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively. more>>
Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively.
More generally, Cooperative Linux (short-named coLinux) is a port of the Linux kernel that allows it to run cooperatively alongside another operating system on a single machine.
For instance, it allows one to freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP, without using a commercial PC virtualization software such as VMware, in a way which is much more optimal than using any general purpose PC virtualization software.
In its current condition, it allows us to run the KNOPPIX Japanese Edition on Windows.

FProfiler 0.6.4
FProfiler project is a Java profiler for finding hotspots in Java libs/apps. more>>
FProfiler project is a Java profiler for finding hotspots in Java libs/apps.
FProfiler is a Java Profiler using BCEL and log4j.
Its very fast because it inserts the needed instructions into the Bytecode of the classes. It can be used to find Hotspots in Java programs, libs, and servlet environments--simply every Java class.
Enhancements:
- Mark Atwell fixed a bug with are branch (jump/goto) instructions directly to the return statement bypassing the stop call.

GolfTracker 0.6.4
GolfTracker is an application written in python and GTK used for tracking golf statistics more>>
GolfTracker is an application written in python and GTK used for tracking golf statistics. GolfTracker handles calculating your handicap index as well as lots of general golf statistics.
Useage:
When launching GolfTracker for the first time you will start with a new profile. The first step is to add a course to this profile. After adding a course, you must add the specific information for each teebox at the course. This is tedious at first but soon youll have all your local courses and teeboxes entered.
Once the courses and teeboxes are setup, its time to enter round scores. When entering a round, you select which course and teebox you played and enter the information for each hole. GolfTracker tracks score, putts, fairways hit, and will generate a Greens in Regulation (GIR) statistic.
Once enough rounds are entered you can check your handicap index and calculate a specific handicap value for a course and teebox. You can also check your stats for any combination of rounds.
