KCAD (Kontrol-Alt-Delete) is a somewhat sarcastic screensaver for KDE. It is intended for those of you who are stuck with BOFH-type bosses who insist on running Windows NT.
This screensaver should assist you in appeasing their Microsoft-enhanced sensibilities. By default, KCAD looks just very KDE-ish, but with a little bit of configuration-editing, it will fool 99% of the Bosses out there.
Installation
- tar xzfv kcad-1.00.tgz
- cd kcad-1.00
- ./configure (on FreeBSD: --prefix=/usr/local --with-qt-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/qt2)
- make (on FreeBSD: gmake)
- (become root)
- [g]make install
Using
In order to make KCAD look like it does in the second screenshot above, you must create a configuration file for KCAD. Put the following text in the file $HOME/.kde/share/config/kcad.kss:

The primary purpose of this is to turn a smashed reference address back into a value. Once a reference is treated as a numeric value, you cant dereference it normally; although with this module, you can.

Be careful, though, to avoid dereferencing things that dont want to be dereferenced.

Model3D::WavefrontObject is a Perl extension for reading, manipulating and writing polygonal Alias Wavefront 3D models.

Model3D::WavefrontObject allows a polygonal Alias Wavefront Object file to be loaded into memory, manipulated, analysed, and re-output.

At this time the model only supports the polygon functions of the Wavefront Object format, not bezier splines, procedural surfaces, and so on. It is currently coded only far enough to support the sorts of Wavefront Object meshes that are also supported by the Poser 3D animation program, and of the sort exported by 3DSMax by using the HABWare exporter.

It supports groups and materials, but not multi-grouped polygons (only the first group is recognised if a polygon is declared to be in multiple groups).

Polygons with greater numbers of vertices are supported, even though these are not supported by the Poser software.

The models will also recognise (and support) the Region extension to the format as defined by Steve Coxs UVMapper and UVMapper Pro program. As a result, it may well be the only piece of code that writes Wavefront Objects without leaving these out.

Equalize plug-in does a histogram equalization of the image.

That is, it modifies the images histogram so that it is approximately horizontal, so that all intensity values cover about the same number of pixels in the image (i.e. the histogram is well-balanced).
