Khalkhi cards 0.2.2
Khalkhi cards allows you to have cards of the entries in your addressbook floating on the desktop. more>>
Khalkhi cards allows you to have cards of the entries in your addressbook floating on the desktop, see the status in the several systems a person has an account in, and do a lot of things, like surfing to her homepage, starting an email or a chat, or dropping her a file/url.
A card lists all properties of an addressbook entry. Are status services installed for a property, the status is displayed below the property item. Actions services are available by the context menu (right click on a property item), and so called data action services by the drop menu (drag a file/url onto the card or an item).
The program is based upon the Khalkhi framework, thus endlessly extendable by plugins. It cannot be used directly, is only available by a service within the framework. So install also the framework and the Khalkhi applet for Kicker:
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=54450
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=54451
Needs 0.2.2 of the Khalkhi framework (see link above).
Enhancements:
- adaption to rename of Contacts framework to Khalkhi framework

Khalkhi framework 0.2.2
Khalkhi framework was formerly known as Contacts framework. more>>
Khalkhi framework was formerly known as Contacts framework.
Khalkhi (say [?al?i]) is a plugin-based framework for (the properties of) entries in the KDE Addressbook and services upon them. It consists of two libs, libkhalkhicore and libkhalkhigui, and a control center module.
The framework models an addressbook entry, like a person or organization, as a list of property types, with no, one or more items of a type for each entry. There are three types of services for a property (e.g. email address):
- action service (e.g. send email)
- data action service (e.g. send file per email, like from dragndrop)
- status service (e.g. number of unread emails in assigned folder)
The tarball includes a lot of services for the most common properties:
- birthday: copy date; has birthday
- im address: chat with; send message; send file; online status
- email address: send email; copy address; send files/urls;
open assigned folders in KMail; unread emails in assigned KMail folder
- homepage: open; copy url;
- blog feed url: copy
- phone number: make call; send fax; send SMS; copy number;
- postal address: open in Google Maps; copy address
- note: copy note
Examples for programs using the framework are a cards server and a Kicker applet, which are available as seperate packages:
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=54451
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=54452
Please see also http://frinring.wordpress.com/2006/07/05/framework-for-contacts-and-services-slowly-getting-shapes/
Developers, you are welcome to try to create own services! Have a look at the folder "services/example"
If you want to build directly from KDEs repository:
svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/playground/pim/ -N
cd pim
svn up khalkhi
svn up khalkhiapplet
svn up khalkhicards
svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/branches/KDE/3.5/kde-common/admin
make -f Makefile.cvs
./configure
make
su -c "make install"
Enhancements:
- rename to Khalkhi
- adding namespace Khalkhi
- streamlining API terms and file names
- add ABI flag to plugins
- add eventsrc for status changes

Kexis 0.2.2
Kexis is a lossless WAV file compressor. more>>
Kexis is a lossless WAV file compressor. Kexis main goal is to develop prediction and encoding schemes to minimize compressed file size. Kexis strives to be the premier lossless sound encoder.
Enhancements:
- You can now turn off the logic that uses similarities between the left and right channel when encoding data with -ns. It is not recomended to do so, since it usually results in worse compression.
- Kexis now opens files as "binary". While this has no effect in linux, Windows, NT, ect need this for portability.
- Added a -d switch which causes Kexis to delete WAV files after encoding them.
- When decoding to stdout, Kexis now properly keeps stdout open so multiple files can now be streamed.
- Progress bar on decode now correctly displays mid and average, not predicted mid and average

CURSEL 0.2.2
CURSEL project is a freeware FMLI implementation. more>>
CURSEL project is a freeware FMLI implementation, a small language that allows you to quickly make a form- and menu- based character interface to shell scripts and other programs.
CURSEL filenames normally start with either "Menu", "Form" or "Text".
For example, the command,
./cursel Menu.example
would interpret the contents of the file "Menu.example" and display an example Menu.
CURSEL provides a language similar to the AT&T FMLI shell. Note that the language is similar to, but certainly not the same as, a /bin/sh shell; in particular, backquoted expressions are NOT evaluated by a shell such as BASH, but rather by the builtin CURSEL "shell" (which does not have all features of e.g. BASH).
There are also a few CURSEL extensions:
1. text frames can use the "alignment" descriptor, a CURSEL extension, which allows you to left or right align text in a Text frame (centering and justification is also supported).
2. backquoted expressions can use () grouping of parentheses, as in the UNIX shell

Tail Server 0.2.2
Tail server allows you to export the output of a more>>
Tail server allows you to export the output of a "tail -f" command of a log file to a TCP port, allowing it to be viewed remotely with telnet. Tail Server provides a regular expression filter to include or exclude output view.
In several circumstances the need to access on remote time-varying log file leads to write some simple scripts.
These files generated by applications like syslog, http, news, etc. are often located on different machines.
System Administrator usually logon on remote system then type:
# tail -f filename
Tail Server offers the possibliy to map on Tcp/Ip port the output of "# tail -f filename" without (each time) logging on remote systems.
Also offers output regular expressions filter in order to include or exclude strings.
Enhancements:
- Server Log File has been implemented.

WML::Card 0.02
WML::Card is a Perl extension for builiding WML Cards according to the browser being used. more>>
WML::Card is a Perl extension for builiding WML Cards according to the browser being used.
SYNOPSIS
use WML::Card;
my $options= [ [Option 1, http://...], [Option 2, http://...], ];
my $c = WML::Card->guess(index,Wap Site); $c->link_list(indice, undef, 0, $options, $options); $c->print;
This perl library simplifies the creation of WML cards on the fly. It produces the most suitable wml code for the browser requesting the card. In this way the one building the cards does not have to worry about the differences in how each wap browser displays the wml code. In combination wht WML::Deck it provides functionality to build WAP applications.
Methods
$card = WML::Card->guess( $id, $title, [$user_agent] );
This class method constructs a new WML::Card object. The first argument defines the WML cards id and the second argument its title. The if the third argument is not defined, the value is obtained from $ENV{HTTP_USER_AGENT}.
$c->buttons($label, $type, $task, $href)
$c->table ($data, $title, $offset, $pager, @headers)
$c->link_list($name, $listtitle, $offset, $pager, $data, $align)
$c->value_list($name, $listtitle, $offset,$pager,$data)
The variable $data is an array reference like: my $menu_items= [ [Option 1, http://...], [Option 2, http://...], ];
The variable $pager is the number of items wanted to be displayed in each card.
$c->print
$c->info($content)
$c->img($file, $alt)
$c->input($label, $text, $name, $format, $type, $size, $target, $arg);
$c->link($target, $text);
