bbweather 0.6.3
bbweather is a tool for blackbox that displays weather conditions. more>>
bbweather is a tool which displays the current weather conditions in an decorated window, simulating the look of the Blackbox toolbar (Blackbox is a Windowmanager for X11). bbweather is heavily based on "bbdate" by John Kennis.
Furthermore, bbweather was inspired by wmWeather by Michael G. Henderson, from where I grabbed the perl-script that fetches the weather-conditions from your local station.

GnomeBaker 0.6.0
GnomeBaker is a Gnome CD/DVD burning application. more>>
GnomeBaker is a GTK2/Gnome CD/DVD burning application. Ive been writing it in my spare time so progress is fairly slow.
Its more of a personal project as I wanted to have a go at developing on Linux and I figured that as I had got this far I may as well let it loose on the world. Maybe someone will like it and use it.
It requires a recent version of cdtools (cdrecord, readcd, cdda2wav and mkisofs), version 2 or greater should be okay.
Main features:
- Create data cds
- Blank rewritable disks
- Copy data cds
- Copy audio cds
- Burn existing cd iso images
- Can burn via scsi and atapi on linux kernels 2.4 and 2.6. Basically if cdrecord works then GnomeBaker will work.
- Drag and drop to create data cds (including DnD to and from nautilus)
- Create audio cds from existing wavs, mp3, flac and oggs
- Integrate with gconf for storage of application settings
- Burn DVDs.
- Supports multisession burning
- Blank/Format DVDs
- Burn Cue/Bin files
- Burn data cds on the fly

MetaTheme 0.0.6
MetaTheme is a unified API for theme engines. more>>
MetaTheme is a project dedicated to unification of appearance between
different graphics toolkits, such as GTK and QT.
The program is designed as a thin layer between toolkits and theme engines, creating unified API by which each theme engine can draw. The result is that every application uses the same code for drawing, making the appearance same across different applications. MetaTheme also adjusts behaviour a bit, so the overall effect of unification is impressive.
Some applications have their own toolkits which are used only by themselves. Cardinal examples of such applications are Mozilla, Firefox and OpenOffice. They provide support for pixmap themes, and popular themes exists for them.
Though as they are pixmap based, you cant easily change how they look. Particularly, its quite impossible to change color theme. Not everyone likes the default. Also, the behaviour of these toolkits is unaffected, so the application may behave differently than other applications.
There is planned support for Firefox (and maybe Mozilla too) in future. For
OpenOffice, you can at least try the KDE integration build of it.
Main features:
- supported toolkits:
- GTK2
- QT/KDE
- Java/SWING
- theme engines:
- Redmond 2000
- Plastik
- Plastik XP
- Industrial
- Flat
- easy installation

Typespeed 0.6.2
Typespeed is a tool and game for testing your typing speed. more>>
Typespeed project is a tool and game for testing your typing speed.
Typespeeds idea is ripped from ztspeed (a DOS game made by Zorlim). The Idea behind the game is rather easy: type words that are flying by from left to right as fast as you can. If you miss 10 or more words, game is over.
There exist 3 different game modes in typespeed:
- Single player: In this mode you can play for yourself and try to get a place in your top 10 list. As you enter correct words, the speed will increase, so watch out. You can even pause the game if you are skilled enough to play so long that you need a little break.
- Training: If single player is too fast for you or you want to concentrate on correct typing, training is the perfect choice for you! In this mode you can set a constant speed. Obviously no highscore game.
- Multiplayer: If you are brave enough to use our current network code (or sit in LAN with your friends), you can experience the most fun of typespeed: challenge an opponent. During the game, written words by you or your opponent will be thrown into the opposite game, so words can be strategicaly used to make life of your opponent even harder.
Typespeed is written in C and uses curses to display the menu and game. The network code is written using core library functions. As of now, the network code is rather unstable/buggy when it comes to high loads, so dont rely on internet games; LAN works fine (and of course localhost).
Generally any POSIX-compatible system with a curses library should work, although development concentrates on GNU/Linux and ncurses. Feel free to contribute patches for your system, too! Beside of that the following systems have been tested and/or have maintained ports:
- Cygwin
- Debian GNU/Linux
- FreeBSD
- OpenBSD

XScanMaster 0.6
XScanMaster is a program to control lights using DMX512. more>>
XScanMaster is a program to control intelligent lights using DMX512, based on the fixture library from GrandMA-firmware. The DMX512 output is done using DMX4Linux, which offers support for most common interfaces and many DMX512 lines.
Also included are functions to control fixtures movements in calibrated reference environments. More than one reference setting can be added to any fixture, and any fixture can be selected to run in one of its reference environments or not.
In the environment the user can control the fixture in different coordinate systems. Sceens and cues can be recorded on a fixture:feature base.
Both can be included in other sceens or cues. Playing sceens/cues can be done from one or more "replay units"; each replay unit can run any program at a given speed (beatcounters are included).

adesklets 0.6.1
adesklets is an interactive Imlib2 console for the X Window system. more>>
adesklets is an interactive Imlib2 console for the X Window system. adesklets project provides to scripted languages a clean and simple way to write great looking, mildly interactive desktop integrated graphic applets (aka "desklets").
Since this is adesklets, others still have plenty of space to start similar projets, from bdesklets to z, excluding g, which is already taken.
Seriously though, all those packages are nice. Nevertheless, the first two have very heavy requirements in terms of library dependencies; basically, gDesklets requires a complete GNOME desktop to be installed (plus specialized libraries such as gnome-python, while SuperKaramba needs almost all of the KDE libraries and base environment.
This reflects on performance for the task at hand1. On the other hand, while GKrellM is significantly lighter (it still depends on GTK+ though), it does not deliver the same experience in terms of ?eye-candiness? (to the authors taste, of course) or ?scriptability? than the other two.
Thus, adesklets was born. It provides:
- a minimal framework for X Window desklets seamlessly integrated into the desktop, with an easy to use central management for starting, positioning and stopping them.
- a generic, rich and easy to use drawing API similar to gDesklets and SuperKaramba regarding its high visual quality, thanks to the Imlib2 library.
- very limited library dependencies: uses the very good (and lightning fast) Imlib2 library for all graphic-related operations. No window toolkit used whatsoever; the program relies directly on xlib.
- a light, robust and small interpreter potentially usable with all sorts of scripting languages thanks to a clean, limited and homogenous syntax. As on version 0.4.2, support for Python is provided out of the box. Future support for Perl and Ruby is planned. Feel free to contribute support for your favorite language!
- Minimal disk space, memory footprint and CPU usage. Typically, on glibc 2.3.4 Linux 2.6 x86, a unique executable is less than 130 KB on disk, takes less than 3 MB of virtual memory per desklet right after initialization, and almost no processor cycles (including cycles from a Python interpreted script) when idle.
Enhancements:
- This is a bugfix release.
- It compiles without warnings on all gcc 4.x releases while retaining compatibility with all previous versions of the compiler.
- A new test/timing.py framework was added to help diagnose potential timing issues.
