Connect-k 2.0

Connect-k 2.0

Connect-k is a framework for experimenting with and testing general AIs for games within the connect-k family. more>>
Connect-k project is a framework for experimenting with and testing general AIs for games within the connect-k family.

Connect-k family of games contains games defined by three parameters: k, p, and q. The game is played on a Go-style (but not necessarily size) board. There are two players, black and white, who take turn placing stones on the board. The first player (black) plays q stones on the first turn and each player then plays p stones on every succeeding turn. The first player to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal sequence of k stones wins.

The game family includes Tic-Tac-Toe, Go-moku without capture rules, and a new game, Connect-6. Connect-6 was formally introduced and analyzed by Dr. I-Chen Wu in a series of papers that attempted to show that the game is fair. This has not been decisively proven but appears to be the case.

The Connect-k program originated as a University of Minnesota undergraduate Artificial Intelligence course project for the Spring 2007 semester. Aside from me, the project group included Jeff Deitch, Gabe Emerson, and Erik Shimshock. We attempted to develop general game playing algorithms capable of playing any game within the Connect-k family. The Connect-k program we produced is currently the only open source program to play Connect-6.

You will need KDE2.0 to use KRad. This eliminates pretty much all of you. Oh well. If you have KDE2, then, well, you obviously know what youre doing. Have fun.

Also, I only support OSS. Since this sucks, ALSA is comming real soon. Oh, and definitely Sun audio will be supported.

KiFi 0.2.4

KiFi is a wireless networking manager for the K Desktop Environment. more>>
KiFi is a wireless networking manager for the K Desktop Environment. It allows you to view the status of all wireless cards installed on your system that implement the Linux Wireless Extensions interface (most cards today), including currently associated SSID and signal strength.
With KiFi you can also view available networks in your area by using its scanning capabilities. Development is currently very active, with our two major goals being the ability to store favorite networks and their settings, and being able to reconfigure a card to a new network without having to remove and reinsert the card or restart your general networking subsystem.
NOTE: You must have Wireless Tools 27pre26 installed in order for KiFi to compile. A link to Wireless Tools 27 pre 26 is provided on the left. Its a very small, but important package.
Enhancements:
- iwlib from the wireless_tools package has now been imported into the source tree. This should fix the number one issue that has come up of users not having the correct version installed

K Menu Gnome 0.6.6

K Menu Gnome 0.6.6

K Menu Gnome project is a K Menu with Gnome folder and extra icons for KDE 3.2 or later. more>>
K Menu Gnome project is a K Menu with Gnome folder and extra icons for KDE 3.2 or later.

If you install both KDE and Gnome then K Menu will become a mess with overpopulated submenus. Some distributions try to solve this by hiding many Gnome apps in KDE and most KDE apps in Gnome. I do not like that. I want to access Gnome apps in KDE and KDE apps in Gnome. So this is my attempt to both maintain desktop interoperability and unmess the menus.

Why should one install both KDE and Gnome at all? You might share your machine with somebody who prefers the other desktop, or you might be a desktop junky like I am.

K Menu Gnome does not integrate well with the menus of heavily customized distributions such as Mandriva, SUSE, or UHU-Linux.
