Fuzzy adventure 0.3
Fuzzy adventure is a fun 2D platform game. more>>
This is a fun 2D platform game I am working on. It is in alpha stage, so expect bugs and bad maps, etc.
There is no story yet, but the general thought is that you play as a rabbit called fuzzy combating evil in some nice fantasy land. It is very similar to other platform games with some plans for some cool extras later. The major focus for me is to get the game to look good and polished.
There are a long todo list on things todo, so if you feel you like to help with graphics, levels, code or anything else, please join the project on sourceforge, or read in this thread I would really like some help with designing some 20-30 good and fun levels!
To run it on windows, download the .zip file, extract it somewhere and run the .bat file representing the suitable resolution for you. (default is 1280).
To run the game in Linux, just grab the latest source from CVS and compile!
How to play: Control the character with the arrow keys, use enter or control to select a level. Use control to run. Remember to give feedback!

Java.Inquisition 0.12
Java.Inquisition is a desktop application for creating and taking computer-based tests and quizzes. more>>
Java.Inquisition is free, open-source software (see License). It is written in (you guessed it) Java, and should therefore work on any platform where Java is supported (including Linux, Mac OS X and Windows).
Why did you write this?
Java.Inquisition was written while I was meant to be studying for the "Sun Certified Java Programmer" (SCJP) exam. Like many programmers, Im prone to the delusion that the best way to do any work is to write a tool to do it for you. So, rather than studying, I wrote this little application to "help" me study (even though I havent done a great deal of studying as a result). Anyway, the upshot is that Java.Inquisition has been designed with enough features to functionally simulate the SCJP 5.0 exam, and would probably work fine as a simulator engine for a number of other certifications.
Why does the world need Yet Another Exam Simulator Engine?
Good question. The quick answer is that I couldnt find a free software exam simulator that supported the features I wanted — in particular, drag-and-drop questions — so I thought Id write my own. Other exam simulators in this sort of area include JPilotExam (GNU GPL), Magnet Mocker and Ultramock. Commercial simulators include Whizlabs, JQPlus and EPractize Labs).
As Ive demonstrated by writing Java.Inquisition, any old idiot can put together a workable exam engine. The difficult bit is writing a decent, bug-free question set which includes helpful explanations for the answers. I was hoping people would be interested in helping out (see "How can I get involved?" below). To make the most of what other people have worked on, Java.Inquisition can import questions from JPilotExam, Magnet Mocker and Ultramock.

Gentium fonts 1.02
Gentium is a typeface family designed to enable the diverse ethnic groups around the world. more>>
Gentium fonts project supports a wide range of Latin-based alphabets and includes glyphs that correspond to all the Latin ranges of Unicode.
The design is intended to be highly readable, reasonably compact, and visually attractive. The additional "extended" Latin letters are designed to naturally harmonize with the traditional 26 ones. Diacritics are treated with careful thought and attention to their use.
Gentium also supports both ancient and modern Greek, including a number of alternate forms. These fonts were originally the product of two years of research and study by the designer at the University of Reading, England, as part of an MA program in Typeface Design.
SIL International has now embraced the Gentium project, and plans to continue development. Expansion of the glyph set to include more extended Latin glyphs, archaic Greek symbols, and full Cyrillic script support is the next step. Work on this has already begun, but the results will not be available for a few months. Addition of bold and bold italic faces will follow.
Gentium is freely available and may be used by anyone at no cost. It is now released under the SIL Open Font License, a free and open source license that permits modification and redistribution.
Our hope is that it will stimulate literature production and elevate extended Latin alphabets to greater parity with the basic Latin alphabet. We also hope it will encourage other type designers to appreciate and support those fascinating and beautiful extra letters.

Flashcards Generator for GRE Prep 0.1
Flashcards Generator for GRE Prep project is a flashcards Generator for GE Prep. more>>
Flashcards are a nice way to prepare for competitive exams like GRE, SAT etc. This program generates Postscript files which you can cut into pieces to create flashcards.
When preparing for competetive exams which test you on English, you might require to remember the meanings of lot of words which you normally dont use in daily usage.
One good way I found for preparing for such exams (GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, SAT etc) is to have pieces of paper in which I write words on one side and meanings on other and keep looking at them from time to time during the course of the day.
I thought generating those pieces of papers which are sometimes called Flashcards, automatically would be good and useful for others, Hence this program.
You will basically get Flashcards with words on one side and their meaning and example usage on the other side, provided you print the PostScript file you get by running this program, one page on different sides of the same paper and manually cut the paper into 6 pieces.
Kitty Hooch Photo Manager 0.3
Kitty Hooch Photo Manager can process photos where you need to copy, resize, create a thumbnail and write some text. more>>
If you call it from Quanta it will even regester everything in your project so its one step from picking a list of photos and commenting on them to uploading. Sorry, you have to write your own PHP libraries.
This requires ImageMagick. I just added the thumbnailing and I know how to make it a lot faster, but Im too tired to do it now. In case youre wondering if you can do anything with Kommander, this is EXACTLY the type of thing I had in mind for it. This may not be what you need, but with a few minutes of editing the output patterns it may be a dream come true. Enjoy.
