Tiger Envelopes is an easy way to get your email privacy back. more>>
Tiger Envelopes is an easy way to get your email privacy back.
With Tiger Envelopes you use email just like you always have with everyone. And, without you doing anything, your messages are private with people who use envelopes.
The mission of Tiger Envelopes is to make private email easy.
Theres a tradeoff between ease of use and security. For too many years some security professionals have said any privacy thats not perfect is worse than worthless. They say it creates a false sense of security.
No one has a false sense of security about envelopes. Theyre made of paper. But we know theyre much more private than messages without envelopes, such as postcards or email.
Tiger gives you envelopes for your email.
Envelopes comes in two versions, Free and Business.
Tiger Free Envelopes is free in both senses, gratis and libre. It is released under the GPL.
Tiger Business Envelopes is commercial. Its based on Tiger Free Envelopes and adds support plus advanced features businesses need. Source code is included for security audits, but its not GPL.

Illustrated 0.12 Alpha

Illustrated 0.12 Alpha

Illustrated project is aiming to provide a way to share picture and photos in a structured way. more>>
Illustrated project is aiming to provide a way to share picture and photos in a structured way. Therefore just like most other web galleries, a title and a description can be added to each photo. But pictures can also be presented as groups within chapters, where they illustrate the text.
I started developping it because although there are many Web galleries already, none was made to do what I wanted to do. The project is very young and therefore much features are too be implemented.
What is Illustrated, and what it is not
- Illustrated is made to share pictures with others with a structured description.
- It supports multilanguage description: you can either add a single description, or add various descriptions with < intl-xx > tags (for instance: < intl-en >English description< /intl-en >). The language used will then depend on the browser settings.
- Within a same album, pictures are shared by chapters, allowing you to storytell what those photos are meaning, just like you would do if you showed to your friends photos of a trip.
- Illustrated is not made to upload loads of pictures for visitors to browse just like with a picture viewer. You could do that, but I would rather recommend you Gallery or Coppermine.
- It is not made to post daily photos and let visitors write some comments. Comments are not supported, and I do not plan to implement this. If you are looking for a photoblog, I would rather recommend you Pixelpost.
How to install it
Illustrated should work on any system as long as PHP, MySQL, and ImageMagick or GD are present. Since it is still at an early development stage, it does not include yet a guided installation, so you will have to set it up manually. This is quite simple though.
Edit the connect.php and index.php files, then just upload all PHP and CSS files in a directory of your web space, and create a directory called pictures with permissions for writing.
Create the database. To do so, if you have access to a command line, just run the following line with your own MySQL login and password.
mysql -ulogin -ppassword < illustrated.sql
If you have access to a phpMyAdmin interface, you can use it to import the file. Just pay attention to the maximum file size.
At last, if you do not have other option left (which would be surprising), you can write a PHP script to build the database. I will write one later.

BitlBee 1.1dev

BitlBee 1.1dev

BitlBee is an IRC to other chat networks gateway. more>>
BitlBee is an IRC to other chat networks gateway.
Just install the program and connect to the BitlBee server with your favourite IRC-client. You will be force-joined into the control channel where root (the bot, your assistant, the bee) will try to help you to get the program working.
As soon as you got your accounts working, you can add users to your contact list and talk to them, just like you normally do on IRC. Open a query, talk to the person in the channel, or even open a group conversation. (But remember IRC is the only true conversation protocol!
Whats New in 1.0.3 Stable Release:
- This version should get rid of some ICQ spam, allows you to talk to people who are not in your contact list, has a fixed ISON implementation (which fixes /NOTIFY in most IRC clients), and fixes some stability bugs.
Whats New in 1.1dev Development Release:
- The Jabber module was rewritten with better support for the Jabber/XMPP protocol.
- The file format for storing per-user settings was improved to be much more secure.
- ForkDaemon mode was added, which is the same as Daemon mode without the stability problems.
- Many more new features and bugfixes were made.

Ravenous 0.9.17

Ravenous 0.9.17

Ravenous is full-featured Web server written in Java. more>>
Ravenous is full featured web server written in Java. It allows you to write dynamic pages in Java without the need to read stacks of books before you get started... pure javalicous programming for your web projects!
Ravenous is different becouse it attempts to make the process of writing high performance web sites in Java as easy as possible for new comers while maintaining efficiency for experienced programmers.
There are no mind numbingly large stacks of documentation to read before you can get started. There are no 500+ lines xml files to write before your code can be executed... in fact writing your first web page in Ravenous can be done easily.
All you need to do, to get the above example to work, is to write it in a file with .rvp as suffix and place it in a ravenous web folder, just like you would if you where writing a PHP based site. In fact, we recognize that most of our users will probably be regular PHP developers who are looking for an easy way to start writing their pages in Java instead of PHP, so we have designed Ravenous to be very close to PHP in a lot of ways to make the transition easier.
Likewise, we expect that most of the people who will be administrating Ravenous, will probably be used to administrate Apache servers. You will therefor also find that the process of configuring new sites in Ravenous is very much like configuring a new PHP based virtual host in Apache.
Notice how the only real differences between this virtual host configuration and that of an Apache server is the fact that you dont specify which ip adresse and port the virtual host should bind to, and that you specify logfiles using AccessLog and ErrorLog.
If you are just getting started with Ravenous (or web development in general), this section will give you an introduction to the primary features available in Ravenous. If you have not yet developed a single page in Ravenous, start out by reading the rest of this section. If you have already developed a couple of pages just skim through the subsections which match the task at hand.
Ravenous can serve pages in two different ways, simple pages with embedded code, or using an MVC model. Lets first look at the simple pages. These function much in the same way as PHP pages. In-order for Ravenous to find and execute simple pages, you must name your files .rvp (Ravenous Page file).
Inside your code sections, you simply use regular Java code to build your output. You add text to the HTML output by using the commands print and println. When Ravenous is asked to execute one of your page files, it will parse it and convert it into a single method on a new object which inherits and object called PageEngine. If you wish to add other methods to this object, you may do so at any time in your code sections.
Enhancements:
- Newly created DataRow objects will get their guid or luid ids set when the row is saved
- Sorting a flexiblelist will now use numerical ordering for purely numerical elements
- Fixed a bug in flexiblehash that prevented an int value from returning a float or double representation
