This is Comfortable FTP, a full screen ftp client.
Supported are FTP both with active and passive data connections,
IPv4 and IPv6, and SFTP (a file transfer protocol using SSH for
authorization and connection encryption).
SFTP support is somewhat preliminary: It requires SSH protocol
version 2 with a configured sftp subsystem on the server. It doesnt support resuming transfers.
For generic installation instructions, see file `INSTALL; for
documentation read the info file `cftp.info. For key bindings, see
the file `bindings.desc.
In cftp, press H for help.
The texinfo documentation is a mess; any help most welcome
(especially the outline of a good structure).
If you make a binary distribution, please include a pointer to the
distribution site:
ftp.giga.or.at /pub/nih/cftp

wxSFTP 0.3
wxSFTP is a simple, easy to use and portable graphical SFTP client. more>>
This project aims to develop a simple, easy to use and portable SFTP client.
With simple we mean that the program will have only the main features needed. The structure consists of a two panel window, one for the local filesystem and another for the remote filesystem. Look at screenshots to see what we mean.
To be easy to use we are developing a graphical client that will be HIG compliant.
Portability is reached with language (python) and graphical library (wxpython). We will try to maintain the portability these platforms give us.

scponly 4.6
scponly provides an user shell for restricting remote access to scp and sftp. more>>
scponly provides an user shell for restricting remote access to scp and sftp.
scponly is an alternative "shell" of sorts for system administrators who would like to provide access to remote users to both read and write local files without providing any remote execution priviledges.
Functionally, it is a wrapper around the ssh suite of applications. It is typically used by creating a user whose shell is set to scponly. This user can neither login interactively nor execute commands remotely, but it can use scp and sftp to download and upload files to the computer, governed by the usual Unix file permissions.
Main features:
- logging: scponly logs time, client IP, username, and the actual request to syslog
- chroot: scponly can chroot to the users home directory, disallowing access to the rest of the filesystem.
- sftp compatibility and sftp-logging compatibility
- WinSCP 2.0 compatibility
- rsync compatibility as a compile time option
- UNISON compatibility
- subversion compatibility
- gFTP compatibility.
Enhancements:
- added missing semicolon

AScopy 1.0.0
AScopy is a site maintenance utility completely written in Bash. more>>
AScopy is a site maintenance utility completely written in Bash.
The main reason to write this in Bash is that it is a very portable environment. AScopy runs in any environment where the following applications are available:
bash
ssh
sftp
cat
find
md5sum
mktmp
rm
rmdir
touch
Since these are available in almost any decent shell environment using installing and using AScopy should be as easy as putting the AScopy script somewhere in your PATH.
Installation:
Go to the directory where the archive has been downloaded and unpack it using the following command:
tar xvzf ascopy-0.0.0.tar.gz
0.0.0 should be replaced with the version of AScopy that has been downloaded.
Go to the newly created directory and type:
./configure && make && make install
Make sure that you have sufficient rights for the installation.
The configure script provides some optional settings. Type ./configure --help to view the possibilities.
Make sure that the ascopy binary is in your PATH and that the man page can be found through your MANPATH environment variable.
AScopy is now ready for use. Please refer to the users manual below for more information.
Enhancements:
- This is the first (feature) stable version.
- There are two major additions to this version.
- The XML documentation has been dropped, so the only documentation available is the manpage.
- AScopy now recognizes when a file has been moved or copied and it will not try to transfer that file over the network but just copy or move the file locally.
- A move will show up on AScopys output as a copy and a delete.

AutoUpdate 5.5
AutoUpdate is a Perl script which performs a task similar to RedHats up2date or autorpm. more>>
AutoUpdate is a Perl script which performs a task similar to RedHats up2date or autorpm. AutoUpdate project can be used to automatically download and upgrade rpms from different (s)ftp or http(s) sites.
Moreover, it can also be used to keep a server with a customized (RedHat) distribution plus all clients up to date. I have tried to write it in such a way that it is not RedHat specific and hence it should work with any other rpm based distribution as well.
Main features:
- In contradistinction to up2date, it can be used to upgrade both rpms from RedHat and third party rpms. In addition, only the server will download new rpms, the clients get them from the server (saves bandwidth).
- It will try to handle dependencies (see below) and choose the right architecture (if more than one is available).
- Version comparison for remote rpms is only done by looking at the file name and not by looking at the entire rpm header unless a special repository has been set up.
- It is designed to run from a cron job and to keep the output to a minimum (so that your root email is not cluttered up with useless information). In particular, there is no interactive mode or any kind of GUI.
How does it work and what can it do?
There are five independent modes, download, get, update/install, merge, and purge. The mode will be determined by the invocation name and or command line options.
Download mode (autodld):
The download mode will connect to a given remote site (currently file, ftp, http, https and sftp are supported) and compare all rpms found to either your rpm directory or, if no rpm directory is set, to the installed rpms. Then all updated versions of rpms you already have will be downloaded. The remote site can be given on the command line or in a configuration file.
Get mode (autoget):
The get mode is similar to the download mode, except that rpm names (without version) can be given on the command line and those rpms will then be searched for on the remote sites.
Update/install mode (autoupd/autoins):
The update/install mode will compare rpms given on the command line or in the update directory to the installed ones. In update mode only new rpms for which an older version is installed will be upgraded. Install mode is similar but will also install rpms for which no old version was previously installed.
First all rpms (except kernel packages) will be upgraded. If there are unresolved dependencies, it will check if any other rpms in the update or rpm directory can be used to satisfy them and add all necessary ones.
Then it will install new kernel rpms (unless disabled) and, at your request, add the images to the boot manager.
You can think of autoupd as a smarter version of rpm -F and autoins as a smarter version of rpm -i respectivley rpm -U.
Merge mode (automrg):
This mode is used to merge new rpms from the update directory into the rpm directory (removing the old ones).
Purge mode (autoprg):
This mode is used to purge old rpms from the update directory.

SWFT 0.3
SWFT (Simple Web File Transfer) is a simple Web application designed as a more secure and modern replacement for FTP and SFTP. more>>
SWFT (pronounced Swift) is a simple web application designed as a more secure modern replacement for FTP and SFTP. SWFT allows for easy and secure upload and download of files through the HTTPS feature of any standard web browser. SWFT is written in php. SWFT stands for Simple Web File Transfer.
Each single file gets a unique Id and Password for download. Multiple file transfer requires multiple Ids or the use of ZIP files. Swft automatically remembers file names and extensions. Ids do not need to match the file name, so multiple files with the same name can be uploaded with different Ids. Password protection is enforced to reduce abuse.
The default swft configuration allows each file to be downloaded 5 times or to remain available for 24 hours, whichever comes first. Defaults can be changed by editing the simple configuration file, but will eventually be accessable through the administrators web interface. These auto housekeeping settings make for easy maintainance by removing stale uploads.
Upload can be done without ceasing administrative rights, and the confidentiality of data being guaranteed.
Swft is a php web application and therefore cross platform. It should work on any webserver with PHP 4 or newer. Limitations to file size are only controlled by the PHP configuration.
The interface is very plain, but easy to understand and will support easier website integration and CSS style sheets in future versions.
The documentation is incomplete, but Install and Howto are included with the download
Main features:
- Its freely licensed under the QPL.
- Since its written in php, it doesnt require you to recompile your web server (although you might want to make a few configuration adjustments).
- Since its written in php, its platform independent. It will run on any system that supports php4 or better, such as Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and BSD.
- Its specifically designed to be simple and secure.
- It doesnt require a big application framework or other complex install procedure.
- It works without cookies.
Enhancements:
- Windows doesnt have /dev/null, so that was not a good assumption to make if we want swft to be cross-platform
- Example config file had a bunch of typos in it
- $HTTP_SERVER_VAR is depreciated, using $_SERVER instead

Thin SFTP Applet is a full featured Secure File Transfer Program. Thin SFTP Applet can be use for secure file transfer and management and can be easily integrated into your website or web application.
You can use our SFTP applet to carry out recursive folder uploads and downloads, with entire directory trees being transfered in a single click.
Interrupted transfers can be resumed. Unlike the FTP protocol, with SFTP all data and commands are encrypted for maximum security.
In spite of being a web client, its appearence is no different from a traditional 2-Table File Transfer Program for desktops.
Because the client is an applet it does not need to refresh itself each time a file transfer or any other operation takes place. The result is that the user experience is no different from using a desktop client.
Enhancements:
- A minor bug related to connection pooling and reuse was fixed.

OpenSSH 5.1
OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH connectivity tools more>> OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH connectivity tools that technical users of the Internet rely on. Users of telnet, rlogin, and ftp may not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet unencrypted, but it is. OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other attacks. Additionally, OpenSSH provides secure tunneling capabilities and several authentication methods, and supports all SSH protocol versions.
The OpenSSH suite replaces rlogin and telnet with the ssh program, rcp with scp, and ftp with sftp. Also included is sshd (the server side of the package), and the other utilities like ssh-add, ssh-agent, ssh-keysign, ssh-keyscan, ssh-keygen and sftp-server.
features:
Open Source Project
Free Licensing
Strong Encryption (3DES, Blowfish, AES, Arcfour)
X11 Forwarding (encrypt X Window System traffic)
Port Forwarding (encrypted channels for legacy protocols)
Strong Authentication (Public Key, One-Time Password and Kerberos Authentication)
Agent Forwarding (Single-Sign-On)
Interoperability (Compliance with SSH 1.3, 1.5, and 2.0 protocol Standards)

OpenSSH is developed by the OpenBSD Project. The software is developed in countries that permit cryptography export and is freely useable and re-useable by everyone under a BSD license. However, development has costs, so if you find OpenSSH useful (particularly if you use it in a commercial system that is distributed) please consider donating to help fund the project.
OpenSSH is developed by two teams. One team does strictly OpenBSD-based development, aiming to produce code that is as clean, simple, and secure as possible.
