Pure FTP Manager allows a user to access multiple FTP chrooted sites with a single username and password. The program uses pure-ftpd and PostgreSQL for FTP and authentication. A site is chosen by adding @sitename to the users login

Chestnut FTP Search is a web application to search for files on FTP servers. Files can by searched only by file/directory names, nor be file contents. Users can query files by part of the file name, the entire file name, a regular expression, or a shell pattern.
The program is written in Python using web.py framework. To store file indexes PostgreSQL or MySQL is use.

Pure FTP Server is a fast, production quality, standards-conformant FTP server based on Troll-FTPd. Pure FTP Server has no known vulnerability, it is trivial to set up, and it is especially designed for modern kernels.
Features include PAM support, IPv6, chroot()ed home directories, virtual domains, built-in ls, FXP protocol, anti-warez system, bandwidth throttling, restricted ports for passive downloads, an LDAP backend, XML output, and more.
Beginners can install a Pure-FTPd server in 5 minutes. It can be as simple as installing the package, typing "pure-ftpd &" and... thats all. You already have a running server, and clients can start to connect.
Theres no need to review any long and complex configuration file, where possible mistakes could have security and reliability implications. Pure-FTPd uses simple command-line switches to enable the features you need.
You can limit the number of simultaneous users, limit their bandwidth to avoid starving your ADSL or cable-modem link, hide system files (chroot), have upload/download ratios, and moderate new uploads.
Custom messages can be displayed at login-time (even changing fortune files) and when an user enters a new directory. Also, to avoid your disks being filled up, you can defined a maximal percentage, and new uploads will be disallowed once this percentage is reached.
The FXP (server-to-server) protocol is implemented. It can be available for everyone, or only for authenticated users.
Kiddies are using common brute-forcing tools that are trying to discover hidden directories. Pure-FTPd provides a protection against this. Anonymous access is secure by default. For instance, users cant access dot-files (.bash_history, .rhosts, ...) unless you explicitely enable this.
And to watch whos doing what, the pure-ftpwho command shows a table with currently active sessions, how much bandwidth is taken by every user, what files they are uploading or downloading, where they are coming from, etc.
Enhancements:
- User names can now be up to 127 characters long.
- Compilation with PAM support has been fixed on Mac OS X, and the MySQL PASSWORD() function can now be used with MySQL >= 4.1.
- Logging now has the correct timezone.
- Support for charset conversions (RFC2640) has been implemented. Large files are now handled by default, using sendfile64() if possible. SITE UTIME and OPTS MLST have been implemented.
- MySQL queries can now include multiple statements and call MySQL 5 stored procedures.
- Transferring a lot of small files is now much faster than in previous versions.

Virt-Factory project manages virtualized infrastructure:
Virt-Factory focuses on interacting with large numbers of virtual systems and on addressing some of the interaction problems that brings with it
Virt-Factory is primarily aimed at a fairly formal setting (data center), though we hope it is also useful on smaller scales
While Virt-Factory has some uses for bare-metal systems, it is first and foremost a tool for managing virtual systems. Future development will be much more focused on virtual systems management than bare-metal.
Virt-Factory provides both a web UI, for ease of use, and an XMLRPC API, for scripting of admin actions.
Virt-Factory is built on open-source projects including Cobbler, libvirt, and Puppet.
Today, Virt-Factory provisions and manages hosts and guests. It also addresses some of the problems specific to virtual systems. It creates complete host and guest images from metadata descriptions and centrally manages existing images.
Future work will make it possible to abstract away individual hosts and place guests into a pool of equivalent hosts, simplifying the administrators view of the data center for many tasks.

It is being developed on FC-6. Well add support for FC-7 and RHEL-5 shortly.
How Stable Is It?
At this point, virt-factory an alpha level project that will probably eat your brane. However its getting better every day.
Whats the architecture look like?
Virt-factory provides a central server for managing virtual hosts and guests. The server exposes an XMLRPC API that is used by the Web UI, and can also be used by custom scripts. On Managed systems, a special "node daemon" is installed, which the central server communicates with over secure XMLRPC.
Who is the target user?
Developers who want to be involved in new systems management technology. Users wishing to run a large number of virtual systems that have a key interest in virtualization and system recipes / appliance concepts.
How is Virtualization used?
Virtualization plays a core role in virt-factory and is heavily integrated. The software takes care of the nuts and bolts and can entirely manage your virtualization, though logging into virtualization via xm and virsh is still supported. Virt-factory is about enablement of virtualization as a core systems-management strategy.
How do you treat appliances?
Appliances can be defined purely as metadata ("profiles") rather than binary blobs. The metadata describes the required virtual machines attributes (number of processors, memory etc), the base system installation (as a template data for the kickstart file), and the appliances "personality" as a puppet manifest. This makes it possible to distribute appliances easily, and allows end-users to adapt appliances to their needs while still being able to consume appliance updates.

- This release concentrates on making the code more stable and easier to install/deploy.

iFTPd, Independent FTP Daemon, is an open source FTP server written in Java. Independent FTP Daemon features platform independence, system independence, ruggedness and a virtual file system.
The target audience of the FTP server is for those admins that need to be able to share files without having to install several other programs and databases and without having to configure the rest of the system.

Installation:
Unpack iftpd.zip.
Check that conf/iftpd.conf is to your liking.
Make at least one group in conf/groups/.
Make sure that at least one of the groups has a root directory.

Start iFTPd.
Linux users run: iftpd.sh
