adevs is a C++ library for developing discrete event simulations based on the Parallel DEVS and DSDEVS formalisms. more>>
adevs is a C++ library for developing discrete event simulations based on the Parallel DEVS and DSDEVS formalisms.
DEVS has been applied to the study of social systems, ecological systems, computer networks and computer architecture, military systems at the tactical and theater levels, and in many other areas.
Recent advances in quantized approximations of continuous systems suggest promising computational techniques for high performance scientific computing (e.g. in the field of computational fluid dynamics).
Enhancements:
- This version corrects an error in the dynamic structure feature (this error only affected models that use component migration).
- A limited adevs-1.x backwards compatibility module is available.

IEs for Linux 2.0.5/2.5 Beta 6

IEs for Linux 2.0.5/2.5 Beta 6

IEs for Linux is a simple Bash Script program that installs Internet Explorer 6, 5.5 and 5 on Linux using Wine. more>>
IEs for Linux project is a simple Bash Script program that installs Internet Explorer 6, 5.5 and 5 on Linux using Wine. The whole process is automatic and very easy.
What is the magic?
The magic of IEs4Linux is to use full browsers downloads instead of using that boring install process. The script automatically downloads full versions of IE from the Evolt Browser Archive. Then installation is done completely behind the scenes! You dont need to click on anything to install IE6, IE5.5 and IE5 - with FlashPlayer 8!
Who is the target public?
WebDesigners that want to move to Linux but still need to test their sites on IE. The IEs installations are smaller than usual because they include only the necessary files to have a good test browser (there is no Outlook, Media Player etc). Please, dont use any of these IEs to navigate!! Get Firefox!
Whats New in 2.0.5 Stable Release:
- The mirror for downloading MSIE was changed.
Whats New in 2.5 Beta 6 Development Release:
- New: Kommander GUI finished (advanced dialog)
- New: IE7 proxy configuration hack (see below)
- Improved: download output
- Improved: other programs should find IE now (as Jim suggested here)
- Improved: all temp files now go to ~/.ies4linux/tmp to avoid complications
- Other bug fixes

WorldForge::Mercator 2.0.5

WorldForge::Mercator 2.0.5

WorldForge::Mercator is primarily aimed at terrain for multiplayer online games and forms one of the WorldForge core libraries. more>>
WorldForge::Mercator is primarily aimed at terrain for multiplayer online games and forms one of the WorldForge core libraries. It is intended to be used as a terrain library on the client, while a subset of features are useful on the server.

Mercator is designed in such a way that individual tiles can be generated on-the-fly from a very small source data set. Each tile uses a fast deterministic random number generation to ensure that identical results are produced "anytime, anywhere". This enables transmission of terrain across low bandwidth links as part of the standard data stream, or server side collision detection with the same terrain that the player sees.

The use of tiles means that there is inherently a large degree of gross control of the shape of the terrain. Finer control is implemented by allowing geometric modifications - for example, a polygonal area might be flattened, or a crater could be applied.

SPAW Editor 2.0.5 Beta

SPAW Editor 2.0.5 Beta

SPAW Editor is a web based in-browser WYSIWYG editor control. more>>
SPAW Editor is a web based in-browser WYSIWYG editor control. SPAW Editor enables web site developers to replace a standard textarea html control with full-featured, fully customizable, multilingual, skinable web based WYSIWYG editor.
Version 2 adds tabbed multi-document interface, floating/shared toolbars, modular architecture and many other exciting features.
Main features:
Tabbed Multi-document Interface
- Version 2 introduces new industry unique tabbed multi-document interface feature. Now you can edit virtually unlimited number of HTML snippets in a single WYSIWYG instance. This can save a lot of screen space, unnecessary scrolling and loading time compared to other solutions where you have to load as many WYSIWYG instances as HTML snippets you want to edit.
Floating/Shared Toolbars
- Multiple instances of SPAW Editor v.2 can be controlled by a single toolbar. This toolbar can either be attached to one of the instances or float around the screen. This way you can save loading time and achieve a better level of integration of the editing area into complex designs (no toolbar overhead)
Resizeable Editing Area
- Users can resize editing area of the editor both vertically and horizontally. Resizing directions could be controlled by the developers as well as users or disabled altogether. Content editors are able to see as much (or as little) content as they wish.
Modular Architecture
- One of the main problems in SPAW v.1 was that it was very difficult to extend the core functionality. SPAW Editor v.2 was designed with extendability in mind. Rich API is available for developers allowing to extend the functionality to whatever your needs are. Publicly available plugins developed by Solmetra as well as 3rd parties will be posted to our plugin page.
Enhancements:
- FEATURE ADDED: support for Safari 3 browser on OS X and Windows
- BUGFIX: absolute URLs were not stripped in XHTML module
- BUGFIX: XHTML rendering: only the first instance of & in href and src attributes was converted to &

kdbg 2.0.5

kdbg 2.0.5

kdbg is a graphical KDE front end to the GDB debugger. more>>
KDbg is a graphical user interface to gdb, the GNU debugger. kdbg project provides an intuitive interface for setting breakpoints, inspecting variables, and stepping through code.
KDbg requires KDE, the K Desktop Environment, but you can of course debug any program.
Main features:
- Inspection of variable values in a tree structure.
- Direct member: For certain compound data types the most important member values are displayed next to the variable name, so that it is not necessary to expand the subtree of that variable in order to see the member value. For example, you dont need to go into a variable of type QString if you want to see the string that the variable holds. (BTW, this is of course not hardcoded, but can be extended to new types.) KDbg can also display Qt 3s QString values, which are Unicode strings.
- Debugger at your finger tips: The basic debugger functions (step, next, run, finish, until, set/clear/enable/disable breakpoint) are bound to function keys F5 through F10. Quick and easy.
- Of course, lots of other basic functions: View source code, search text, set program arguments and environment variables, display arbitrary expressions. Everything you need to debug a program, eh!
- Debugging of core dumps, attaching to running processes is possible.
- Conditional breakpoints.
Enhancements:
- The appearance of the main window for first-time users was improved.
- Improve file handling when the srcdir != builddir.
- Show value popups for members of this.
- Allow the user to give redirections in the Program Arguments dialog.
- Minor bug fixes.

DrFTPD 2.0.5

DrFTPD 2.0.5

DrFTPD provides a distributed FTP daemon that uses a cluster of slaves for file transfers. more>>
DrFTPD provides a distributed FTP daemon that uses a cluster of slaves for file transfers.
DrFTPD is an FTP server written in Java. It does not handle transfers in the same way that normal FTP servers do. Instead, it merges multiple FTP sites into one, creating a distributed FTP site/FTP cluster containing one master and many slaves/nodes.
When a client wants to transfer a file from DrFTPD, DrFTPD finds the slave which has the file, and tells the appropriate slave to transfer the file instead of handling it itself.
This allows huge gains in total bandwidth and disk capacity.
Main features:
- Free Software
- Plugins
- Uses file transfer slaves as explained above.
- Runs without root/administrator privileges.
- Stripes files across slaves.
- Slave selection based on used bandwidth.
- Archiving/mirroring plugin.
- In-memory filelist with cached checksums.
- Builtin zipscript
- Sitebot plugin using martyr included.
- User Trial plugin included.
- Slave stripes files across multiple roots (mountpoints)

JWebPresenter project is a bitmap-image based Web presenting system. more>>
JWebPresenter project is a bitmap-image based Web presenting system.
It can add a Web extension to your favorite presentation tool, such as PowerPoint, MagicPoint, or Impress.
This is useful in distance learning, meeting, conferencing, and other situations.
It uses bitmap images to avoid compatibility problems. Other features include platform independence and simplicity.
Main features:
- Bitmap image based presenting: Hence we have no compatibility problem related to character corruption, locale, font, ... You can (and you must) use an authoring tool (e.g., PowerPoint, OpenOffice, MagicPoint, etc) to create the slides, then export into images to be presented with JWebPresenter.
- Platform independent: Any system satisfying the requirements should be OK, including Linux PC, Windows PC, PDA Sharp Zaurus SL-C760 (JWebPresenter SS v1.0x).
- Simplicity: I believe simple thing should be done simply. JWebPresenter SS v1.2.1 package (tar.gz) is only 36KB, including source, pre-compiled binarary, document, sample, and a 18KB (uncompressed size) license called GPL!
- Protocol and Image format independent: All protocols and image formats supported by JRE (Java Runtime Enviroment) should be OK.
- Efficience: There is little overhead in JWebPresenter.

Fight Win Prevail 0.0.8

Fight Win Prevail 0.0.8

Fight Win Prevail (or FWP for short) is a hobbyist multiplayer first person shooter. more>>
Fight Win Prevail (or FWP for short) is a hobbyist multiplayer first person shooter. Fight Win Prevail is set in an imaginary universe where fearless pilots fight to the death with their futuristic vehicles.
Gameplay lies somewhere between the Mechwarrior-series and Quake 3. It is faster and more action-orientated than in Mechwarrior, but tries to avoid the jump-around-like-crazy-and-fire-at-everything-that-moves-gameplay known from Quake 3.
Fight Win Prevail is a pure multiplayer game and does not have a real singleplayer mode. Our primary target are LANs, but the game is playable over the internet, too.
Main features:
- Good graphics, physics, sound, and gameplay (for a hobbyist game)
- Multiplayer over TCP/IP
- 3 types of vehicles with individual characteristics (mechs, hovercrafts, and helicopter-like aircrafts)
- Distinct weapon types (classical projectile weapons, beam weapons, ballistic weapons, etc.)
- Distinct map types (from close combat indoor maps to large landscapes)
- An extendable set of vehicles, weapons, and maps
- 4 game modes (deathmatch, team deathmatch, sole survivor, team survivor)

Kritton 0.4.2/0.5.0pre1

Kritton 0.4.2/0.5.0pre1

Kritton is a very compact and fairly efficient webserver under development. more>>
Kritton is a very compact and fairly efficient webserver under development, supporting most of the rudimentary features other HTTP daemons support, like CGI scripts and Virtual Hosts, while at the same time being free! Although Kritton is hardly in Beta stage, it is very promising, for features are being added constatly.

Without of course being very popular, Kritton is very good in terms of security because it has the ability to perform a chroot()and enjoys security-minded code. In terms of performance, Kritton is considered to be a fairly fast webserver for HTML files ( blazing fast if the traditional fork()ing is taken into account) and close to excellent in terms of CGI performance.

The project has many esoteric functions that other webservers dont, for instance, a stat() cache. This helps increase efficiency. Kritton, having just entered the Beta stage and getting more ready for normal use,is also quite stable. Of course, its development stage is mere Beta, it does seem to avoid segmentation faults very well, and even if one occurs, it is not fatal due to the parent pool. Even in the case of being fatal, Kritton can be ran within a wrapper script ( a sample one is provided), so in the case of an error, it can be restarted without delay.

Linux-HA 2.0.5

Linux-HA 2.0.5

Linux-HA provides a heartbeat and IP address takeover functions for a high-availability Linux cluster. more>>
Linux-HA provides a heartbeat and IP address takeover functions for a high-availability Linux cluster.
The basic goal of the High Availability Linux project is to:
Provide a high-availability (clustering) solution for Linux which promotes reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) through a community development effort.
The Linux-HA project is a widely used and important component in many interesting High-Availability solutions. We estimate that we currently have around thirty thousand installations up in mission-critical uses in the real world since it became suitable for mission critical production in 1999. Interest in this project continues to grow. These web pages are average more than 17000 hits per day, and we see around 100 downloads of our software per day.
Heartbeat now ships as part of SUSE Linux, Mandriva Linux, MSC Linux, Debian GNU/Linux, Ubuntu Linux, Red Flag Linux, and Gentoo Linux. Ultra Monkey, and several companys embedded systems are also based on it. Although this is called the Linux-HA project, the software is highly portable and runs on FreeBSD and Solaris as well (even MacOS X from time to time).
There have been many articles and chapters in books written on this project and software. See the PressRoom for more details.
We have put our foot on the road to being competitive with commercial systems similar to those described in D. H. Browns 1998 or March 2000 analysis of RAS cluster features and functions. In most important respects, we think youll find that Linux-HA has achieved this level of competitiveness with our release 2 software.
This release 2 series brings technologies and basic capabilities which match or exceed the capabilities of many commercial HA systems. We think youll be surprised. An R2 getting started guide is available.
We also work well with the LVS (Linux Virtual Server) project and expect to continue to collaborate with them in the future, since our goals are complementary.
Enhancements:
- This release has significant bugfixes and enhancements, making it a worthwhile upgrade for anyone running R2 CRM-style configurations, or who would like to.
- An OCF RA for Xen guests and Chinese GUI support have been added.
- ipfail has been replaced and generalized (limited testing). Master/slave testing and fixes.
- Significant cibadmin fixes.
