Svinepalsen is a top-scrolling space shooter built with SDL. more>>
Svinepalsen project is a top-scrolling space shooter built with SDL.
In Svinepalsen, the year is 2223 and the population of space has begun.
You are tentacled creature from Nurobi Gernash on a mission to reach the home planet of a race called "humans".
You are to deliver one message to all nations of Earth: "There must be security for all or no one is secure".
The mission fails and you are forced to make an example of the human insolence.
With your vastly superior ship you must destroy all resistance. You must kill them all or there will be retaliation.

pslange 0.1
pslange is a ncurses-based clone of the game snake. more>>
pslange project is a ncurses-based clone of the game snake.
pslange is a clone of an old classic game otherwise known as snake or nibbles.
The object of the game is to steer the snake around the screen eating the food that pops up. Every time the snake eats something it grows. If the snake hits an obstacle either itself or the wall, the game ends.
I wrote pslange as a small learning project in order to learn python. It may not be the most advanced game but I belive it is an entertaining way to spend a few minutes. :-)
Since it does have several features common to many python based command line tools, it may be useful to some people as an example on how to do these things in python.
Main features:
- Internationalization - also known as I18N.
- Python setup.
- Command line handling using the module optparse.
- Using the python curses interface.

CruxPorts4Slack 20061113
CruxPorts4Slack adapts the ports and pkgmk commands to allow the use of ports repositories for Crux with Slackware. more>>
CruxPorts4Slack adapts the "ports" and "pkgmk" commands to allow the use of ports repositories for Crux with Slackware.
In the BSD Unix World a ports system means a directory hierarchy (ususally under /usr/ports)
where you can automatically build your own binary packages from source.
The advantage of a ports system is, that the built packages are optimized for your computer. Second advantage is: ports are faster available then binary packages.
In the last years ports systems became popular on Linux, too. A well-known Linux distro with a ports system is Gentoo, another one is Crux (www.crux.nu).
Being a Slackware fan, I decided to switch to Crux, because Slackware hadnt alls the packages I wanted and using ./configure && make && make install (or even checkinstall) wasnt the optimum for me.
At first I was impressed with the ports system of Crux. But building every single package, even the most basic software (e.g. util-linux), was getting on my nerves. And I didnt like the system layout of Crux (they are using devfs) as much as I liked Slackwares.
I thought "Why dont use a mix of the two". Slackware with the Crux ports system - that would be it. Crux binary packages are based on tar.gz, so are Slackware packages. So I switched back to Slack and ported the Crux port system to Slackware. Another reason for making this is, that I will use this system in the next version of DeLi Linux (www.delilinux.de).
Here is the result: With cruxports4slack you can use the crux ports system with Slackware.
Running:
pkginfo
-------
usage: pkginfo [-i|-i package]
options:
-i, --installed list installed packages and their version.
-l, --list package list files owned by the specified package
-h print help and exit
Enhancements:
- The ability to use alternative Pkgfiles was added.
- The httpup files for the contrib and opt repositories were updated.

Console Xine Front End 0.9.2
Console Xine Front End (CXFE) is an extremely simple front end for Xine. more>>
Console Xine Front End (CXFE) is an extremely simple front end for Xine. It is meant to be comfortable for people used to MPlayer.
So why not just use MPlayer?
While MPlayer is an excellent movie player, its dvd playback capabilties has been lacking for a long time. Besides, choice is a good thing :-) To tell the truth, CXFE was mainly created as another movie player for MMS.
Current command line parameters:
-vo < driver > Set video out driver (dxr3/xv/xshm/fb)
-ao < driver > Set audio out driver (alsa/oss)
-i < driver > Set control driver (lirc) Keyboard is enabled at all times)
-fs Start cxfe in fullscreen
< mrl > Valid xine MRL (ex: dvd:/) Up to 1000 MRLs are allowed
-v Prints cxfe version and exits
-d Start cxfe with deinterlacing plugins on
-p Specify custom deinterlacing plugin to use
--help Prints this help
Example: cxfe -vo xv -ao alsa -i lirc -dev /dev/dvd dvd:/)

boxes 1.1
boxes is a text filter which can draw ASCII art boxes around its input text. more>>
boxes is a text filter which can draw ASCII art boxes around its input text. These boxes may also be removed, even if they have been badly damaged by editing of the text inside. Since boxes may be open on any side, boxes can also be used to create regional comments in any programming language. With the help of an editor macro or mapping, damaged boxes can easily be repaired.
This is useful for making the function headers in your programming language look better, for spicing up your news postings and emails, or just for decorating your documentation files.
New box designs of all sorts can easily be added and shared by appending to a free format configuration file. boxes was intended to be used with the vim(1) text editor, but can be tied to any text editor which supports filters.
Main features:
- Drawing of ASCII art boxes around input text
- Generation of regional comments in any programming language
- Freely and conveniently user-configurable boxes
- Alignment and positioning of text inside a box
- Removal of boxes, even if box is damaged by editing of contained text
- A number of preconfigured box designs in example config file
- Many useful command line options (such as box size specification etc.)
- Regular expression substitutions on input text
- (e.g. used for quoting closing comment tags in a C comment box)

shUnit2 is a unit test framework for Bourne based shell scripts, and is designed to work in a similar manner to JUnit, PyUnit, etc.
Whats New in This Release:
Back ported the Makefile from 2.1.1pre that included changes to the
docs-docbook-prep target.
Changed the test in assertFalse() so that any non-zero value registers as
false. (Credits to Bryan Larsen)
Updated the testPartyLikeItIs1999() function in the Quick Start documentation.
The expected and actual values were swapped. (Credits to Richard Jensen)
It was pointed out that the simple failed message for a failed assert was not
only insufficient, it was nonstandard (when compared to JUnit) and didnt
provide the user with an expected vs actual result. The code was revised
somewhat to bring closer into alignment with JUnit (v4.3.1 specifically) so
that it feels more "normal". (Credits to Richard Jensen)
As part of the JUnit realignment, it was noticed that fail*() functions in
JUnit dont actually do any comparisons themselves. They only generate a
failure message. Updated the code to match.
Added self-testing unit tests. Kinda horkey, but they did find bugs during the
JUnit realignment.
Fixed the code for returning from asserts as the return was being called before
the unsetting of variables occurred. (Credits to Mathias Goldau)
The assert(True|False)() functions now accept an integer value for a
conditional test. A value of 0 is considered true, while any non-zero value
is considered false.
All public functions now fill use default values to work properly with the -x
shell debugging flag.
Fixed the method of percent calculation for the report to get achieve better
accuracy.
