JBrownie 1.3

JBrownie functions as a wrapper around the system default javac Java compiler to monitor Java sourcecode and automatically recompile any files found changed. more>> JBrownie 1.3 functions as a wrapper around the system default javac Java compiler to monitor Java sourcecode and automatically recompile any files found changed.

The focus of this tool is to assist software developers, who prefer to use a plain text editors over a resourcehungry IDE, but still want their code to be autocompiled on the fly without delay and without having to manually start javac over and over again. Checking for syntax errors becomes now as easy as just saving the file in question.

Major Features:

  1. Installation
    • No Installation required. The program can be started from any directory as is. Note on classpath: The JVM does not accept -cp and -jar at the same time. If -jar is given, -cp (as well as the CLASSPATH environment variable, if set) is ignored. This means, that in order to prevent linker warnings, JBrownie must either not be started via -jar (the main class is called de.onyxbits.jbrownie.Core) or a project specific classpath must be submitted in the settings dialog under "Compile options".
  2. Using
    • JBrownie must be supplied with a base directory, containing the source code tree to watch. This can either be done from the commandline, by submitting the desired path as the first argument or from the file menu. Once a directory, it (and its subdirectories) will be scanned for files with the .java extension (case insensitive). Whenever such a file changes (or a new file is added), it will automatically be (re)compiled. The output of the compiler is printed to the main window of JBrownie.
    • Besides merely compiling class files, JBrownie can also be configured to to start the program in question.
  3. Configuration
    • Three aspects of the program can be configured currently: Compiler settings, Run Settings and GUI appearance. The menuitem to do so can be found in the "File" menu. Hitting the apply button in the settings dialog will automatically save the submitted values via java.lang.prefs.Preferences to the system dependent preferences storage.
  4. Compiler settings
    • The commandline arguments to pass to the compiler. By default, the compiler is run without any options. It is not possible to change the compiler except by changing the JDK itself. The compiler that is used is always the default compiler of the JDK, with which JBrownie is run.
  5. Run settings
    • This is simply the program (plus commandline argument) to associate with the "run program" button in the toolbar. By default, no program is set, meaning the button is without function. Once a program is run, it's stdout and stderr stream is redirected to JBrownie's console window.
  6. GUI settings
    • These control the fontsize of the console and whether or not to use horizontal scrollbar for lines, that exceed the width of the window.

Requirements: Java 2 Standard Edition Runtime Environment

Databrid 1.3

Databrid 1.3

Databrid is a powerful tool that provides easy access to data and manipulation of data within an Oracle or MySql database. more>>
Databrid is a browsing, retrieval and manipulation tool designed for the novice to the expert user. Databrid works on MySql and Oracle Database (versions 8 and above although not all functionality in the Browser is available for the lower versions). The core functionality of Databrid revolves around the tabbed areas within the Databrid application. The four main tabs in the main screen of Databrid are: SQL Editor, Browser, File and Jobs.

## SQL EDITOR ##
The SQL Editor tab allows you to write and run SQL and PLSQL. The tab provides the ability to use one of more sql autocompletion, word and syntax highlighting editors with automatic case adjustment for keywords. Provided with each editor is a table for displaying SQL query results and a text output area to display DBMS_Output output. Jobs can be run in the background allowing for the execution of multiple statements at any given time.

## BROWSER ##
The Browser tab allows the you to browse various parts of the database schema. The browsing is done via a particular schema user and displays information on tables, views, sequences etc. Features include the generation of database creation statements for tables, views etc, browsing table or view data, truncating tables, etc.

## FILE ##
The File tab allows you work with a CSV (comma delimited text file) and the database without having to load the CSV into the database. This tab has two areas that functionality: CSV Update and Database Update. CSV Update allows you to add additional columns to a CSV using a Select statement, including binding CSV column values to the Select statement. Database Update allows you to update the database using insert, updates, deletes or PLSql by binding the CSV column values into your statement.

## JOBS ##
This tab allows you to view which jobs are currently running or have finished. Jobs that are running can also be stopped.

DB_DataContainer 1.3.1

DB_DataContainer 1.3.1

DB_DataContainer is a PEAR compliant database persistence layer and data encapsulation class. more>>
DB_DataContainer is a PEAR compliant database persistence layer and data encapsulation class. A persistence layer can encapsulate the behaviour needed to make objects persistent like for exemple: to load, save and delete objects to and from persistent storage. Currently the only supported persistence mechanisms are relational databases. Database abstraction is provided by PEAR DB.
Data encapsulation is provided by overloaded accessor methods. This means that if you have a property named $foo and you do not write getFoo() and setFoo() methods in the extending class yourself, they will be automatically provided by DB_DataContainer.
As a result of the provided persistence mechanism and data encapsulation DB_DataContainer together with few lines of extra code can be used to implement the Active Record Pattern as described by Martin Fowler:
An object that wraps a row in a database table or view, encapsulates the database access, and adds domain logic on that data.
The class does not use any external configuration files. The extending class itself IS the configuration. All you need to take care about is to have matching propertyname - columname pairs in the class and the database table.
If your database schema changes, for example you add an column foo to the table, all you need to do is to add a property name foo to your class which extends DB_DataContainer. There is no need to rewrite any internal SQL queries.
The class does not provide direct support for JOIN:s or table linking. For extreme cases it is still possible to pass hardcoded SQL queries. This usage is discouraged since it breaks the basic idea of using DB_DataContainer.
Main features:
- Simple API
- Persistence mechanism encapsulation. You only need to call load(), save() or delete(). Note that there are no separate methods for INSERT and UPDATE. save() figures itself out which query to use.
- Overloaded accessor methods for class properties without such methods.
- PEAR DB supported databases as persistence mechanisms (tested with Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL and SQLite).
- Multi-object actions provided by a static getObjects() call.
- Possibility to use hardcoded SQL queries in multi-object actions.
- Regression tests.
- Supports PHP4 and PHP5 (starting from version 1.3.0)
Enhancements:
- This release fixes problems with protected and private data members when using PHP5.

PloneAtom 0.1.3

PloneAtom 0.1.3

PloneAtom provides Atom support for Plone. more>>
PloneAtom provides Atom support for Plone.

This is a Plone product (that could probably be trivially modified for the CMF itself) which provides Atom support for Plone. Currently it provides the Atom syndication format for folderish objects, in the same way as RSS syndication is implemented.

Enabling Atom syndication

Atom syndication is enabled in exactly the same way as RSS syndication. To enable syndication on the site in general:

.Login as an admin user.

.Go to Plone Setup and choose Zope Management Interface

.Select the Properties tab in the portal_syndication tool.

.Click enable syndication. Then, to enable syndication support for a particular folderish object:

.Login as a user who has Owner/Manager permission for the folder.

.Surf to that folder and select the syndication tab.

.Click Enable syndication. Dont worry about the syndication options it gives you -- they are not used by atom (and ignored in most RSS clients, from what Ive seen).

What is "working":
- modern and classic view
- fast "search" if yout type something
- zoom
- some preview
- cut copy and paste is actually disabled
- drag&drop is compatible with konqueror
