Java Platform Invoke API Demo (Linux) 2.01.04

Java Platform Invoke API (Demo version) for Linux, i386. Enables Java code to call native functions implemented in shared libraries like in Microsoft .NET Framework. Written for JSE 1.5.x and later. more>>

Java Platform Invoke API Demo (Linux) - Java Platform Invoke API (Demo version) for Linux/Unix, i386.

Enables Java code to call native functions implemented in shared link libraries like in Microsoft .NET Framework. Written for JSE 1.5.x and later.

Java platform invoke an API that enables Java code to call native functions implemented in shared libraries, such as those in the Linux API. It locates and invokes an exported function and marshals its arguments (integers, strings, arrays, structures, and so on) across the interoperation boundary as needed. This API supports implicit marshaling that makes Java coding with native functions very simple.

To consume a shared library functions you need

1.Identify functions in shared librarys.

Minimally, you must specify the name of the function and name of the the shared library that contains it.

2.Create a class to hold shared library functions.

You can use an existing class, create an individual class for each native function, or create one class that contains a set of related native functions. This class should extend CNativeLibrary. Use the annotation ImportLibrary to bind your class to the native library.

3.Create prototypes in Java code.

Write prototype of a native function as a method with signature that corresponds to the native function using data type map agreement. To identify the native function use the annotation Function. Mark the method with the native modifier.

4.Call a shared library function.

Call the method on your Java class as you would any other Java method. As parameters can be passed structures and implemented in Java callback functions.

Java::JVM::Classfile 0.19

Java::JVM::Classfile 0.19

Java::JVM::Classfile is a Perl module to parse JVM Classfiles. more>>
Java::JVM::Classfile is a Perl module to parse JVM Classfiles.

SYNOPSIS

use Java::JVM::Classfile;

my $c = Java::JVM::Classfile->new("HelloWorld.class");
print "Class: " . $c->class . "n";
print "Methods: " . scalar(@{$c->methods}) . "n";

The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is an abstract machine which processes JVM classfiles. Such classfiles contain, broadly speaking, representations of the Java methods and member fields forming the definition of a single class, information to support the exception mechanism and a system for representing additional class attributes. The JVM itself exists primarily to load and link classfiles into the running machine on demand (performed by the Class Loader), represent those classes internally by means of a number of runtime data structures and facilitate execution (a role shared between the Execution Engine (which is responsible for execution of JVM instructions) and the Native Method Interface which allows a Java program to execute non-Java code, generally ANSI C/C++.

This Perl module reveals the information in a highly-compressed JVM classfile by representing the information as a series of objects. It is hoped that this module will eventually lead to a JVM implementation in Perl (or Parrot), or possibly a way-ahead-of-time (WAT) to Perl (or Parrot) compiler for Java.
It is important to remember that the Java classfile is highly-compressed. Classfiles are intended to be as small as possible as they are often sent across the network. This may explain the slightly odd object tree. One of the most important things to consider is the idea of a constant pool. All constants (constant strings, method names and signatures etc.) are clustered in the constant pool at the start of the classfile, and sprinkled throughout the file are references to the constant pool. The module attempts to hide this optimisation as much as possible from the user, however.

Rippy the Aggregator 0.13

Rippy the Aggregator 0.13

Rippy the Aggregator is a lightweight RSS aggregator written in vanilla PHP. more>>
Rippy the Aggregator project is a lightweight RSS aggregator written in vanilla PHP.
There are several Web sites (Slashdot, for instance) that I visit regularly or semi-regularly to check for the latest news; there are also several more (like, say, the EFF) that post regular updates and that Id like to visit regularly, or that would like to have me visit regularly, but which I dont visit regularly because its just too much work to keep track of all of them, and too disappointing when I remember to check and find nothing new. I even run a Web site of my own which Id like to have people check regularly - but since I dont spend time making the rounds of my friends similar sites, I cant expect them to visit mine. Rippy the Aggregator aims to solve all these problems.
There is a standard called RSS, for Web sites to publish their updates in a machine-readable format. An appropriate client can quickly visit all the Web sites youre interested in, download their updates, and present you with a customized list of all the newest items. Most "blogging", "portal", and "content management" software already generates RSS files (although its operators may be unaware of that!), and there are services like Syndic8 that compile lists of RSS "feeds". So it only remains to get an appropriate client.
That presents a problem. I hacked an RSS output onto my Web-site updating scripts, so I had that aspect covered, but then I wanted to start reading others RSS feeds, and I discovered that the client programs you can get on the Web mostly suck. Some of them are Windows-only, so those are right out. I saw one in Java that looked pretty good, but its Web site didnt provide a way to download it except through some kind of weird Hot-Buzzy-Java-Scripted-Auto-Virus-Install-Plugin-Thing - there was no actual file. I did eventually find its source code, but it required third-party libraries.
Then I looked at several RSS readers that were written in Perl or PHP and designed to run as scripts on a Web site. Those had possibilities, but they required multiple third-party libraries (Perl) or an SQL server and compiled-in PHP modules that most people dont have (PHP).
The best attempt I found was one written in Python, but in order to make it run I had to start not one but two background server daemons, which would make it tricky to use on my office computer at school. There are Web sites that provide the service of RSS reading, but they all require registration, cookies, JavaScript, etc. I couldnt find an RSS reader (or "aggregator", as theyre called) that I could just download and have it work. Thus, it was necessary to create one: enter Rippy!
The name "Rippy the Aggregator" refers to an Arrogant Worms song about a cute, cuddly little alligator who goes "chomp, chomp, chomp," down in the bottom of the swamp, swamp, swamp. Abram Hindle has suggested that Rippy the Aggregator should go "grep, grep, grep," down in the bottom of the net, net, net. Anyone wanna write the rest of the song?
Main features:
- Cute name
- Written in PHP (needs 4.3.0 or above)
- Doesnt require any compiled-in optional libraries that dont ship with PHP
- Stores its cached data in flat files, no database needed
- Freely licensed and customizable under the GNU GPL version 2
Enhancements:
- Parser ruggedness and general stability were improved, and support was added for setting options like user agent and proxying when acting as an HTTP client.

JavaOp 42b Beta

JavaOp 42b Beta

JavaOp provides a Binary Bot for Battle.net. more>>
JavaOp provides a Binary Bot for Battle.net.
JavaOp is a cross-platform, flexible, plugin-oriented Battle.net Binary Bot.
I did some work on it, and got a bot that could connect. But after christmas, I got a job where I was doing a lot of Java coding. I decided that I could do much better with Java, so I took a stab at it. Eventually, I got it to connect to Battle.net, and continued with it. Eventually, while travelling to BC to hook up with some friends, I had time to kill at the airport, and Fr0z3N had requested a stripped down version of JBBot. So I got rid of all the GUI code and a lot of other crap, structured it differently, and called it JavaOp. Tuberload joined me, and it was going well, but eventually I got the feeling I had coded myself into a corner. It was too hard to expand anything.
Eventually, I decided to start from scratch. I used several of my login and utility classes, but completely restructured it, and coded 95% from scratch. I based a lot of ideas for plugins and such on Gaims code. The bot was totally plugin-oriented. Although its still specific to Battle.net (I decided not to go that far), it is very easy to write powerful plugins for it. Everything from login to display to moderation is done through plugins, and the core is very small, just providing a way to communicate among co-existing plugins.
Enhancements:
- The StayConnected plugin was recreated.
- Another attempt at detecting disconnects and acting upon them was implemented.
- CheckRevision can be reenabled on a by-product basis.
- Currently, it is set up to throw an InvalidVersion exception (which is caught, of course) if the product is STAR, SEXP, or W2BN.
- This allows D2DV D2XP, WAR3, and W3XP to hash locally, although they will need their local hashing information updated.
