- Fedora Core
- Debian, Ubuntu
- Gentoo
The included installer will:
- Check for missing packages
- download and install the mandatory epkowa packages automatically
- provide a dummy lpr-package to resolve dependencies
- account for the different Ditros (BSD - System V - Gentoo) and configure the run-levels accordingly
- give suggestions for appropriate URIs for the printer installation
- call the distribution specific CUPS tools (YaST2, printerdrake, kprinter, gnome-cups-config)
Main features:
- Bundling of pages (large documents sometimes "hang")
- generic multiple local printer support
- URI handling for proper interface (usblp) allocation
- installation of XML files for plain foomatic support
- better hotplugging behavior
- networking (IPP, SMB) support through a local pseudo-interface
Enhancements:
- The regular print mode will be selected with every reboot or runlevel change.

fax4CUPS 1.28
fax4CUPS is a simple shell scripts that acts as a CUPS backend. more>>
fax4CUPS is a very simple shell script that acts as a CUPS backend for a serial fax modem. Essentially, you print with lpr and the fax is sent.
The nice thing is that you have CUPS around, and this means, for instance, that you can check whether your fax has been sent just using your favorite browser (as you would do for any other printer), even if the fax modem is really on a remote server. fax4CUPS project supports HylaFAX, efax, and mgetty-fax.
Enhancements:
- Two deadly bugs in shell syntax have been fixed.

Tea4CUPS 3.12
Tea4CUPS is similar in functionality to the *nix command tee, but in the form of a CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) backend. more>>
Tea4CUPS project is similar in functionnality to the GNU/Linux tee command, but available as a 100% plug and play generic CUPS backend wrapper.
Tea4CUPS is the Swiss Armys knife of the advanced CUPS administrator, and can easily replace or extend most of the existing specialized CUPS backends (pdf, email, ftp, etc...)
You are greatly encouraged to use this software instead of writing your own CUPS backends : Tea4CUPS will let you plug your own scripts, filters, tools, or commands wherever you want, while giving them access to all the print jobs characteristics in a consistent way.
Tea4CUPS is a 100% Python written standalone script distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License of the Free Software Foundation.
Tea4CUPS provides three ways to launch commands :
filters : A filter can modify the input datas before they are sent to the printer or made available to the pre and post hooks defined below. Currently a single filter can be defined per print queue.
prehooks : these are guaranteed to be launched before the print job is sent to the real printer. Any prehook which exits -1 can cancel the print job. Any number of prehooks can be defined for a particular print queue.
posthooks : these are guaranteed to be launched after the print job has been sent to the real printer, unless the job was previously cancelled by a prehook. Any number of posthooks can be defined for a particular print queue.
Enhancements:
- Access to the same printer devices by different print queues or print servers is now serialized to avoid problems.
- Support for CUPS 1.2.x and higher was improved.
- The administrator can now stop tea4cups with SIGINT.
- A configurable retry directive in the configuration file gives you more control over what to do when the real CUPS backend fails.
- The documentation and sample configuration file were improved.

Java Lemonade Stand 1.3
Java Lemonade Stand is a lemonade stand game. more>>
Java Lemonade Stand is a lemonade stand game. To play the game, click on the link below.
You are the sole proprietor of a lemonade stand in your front yard. Your parents were kind enough to knock together a booth and provide some initial capital and supplies.
You have three months to make as much money as possible. Placing money in the bank is a good idea. You earn interest.
The left side of the display contains four tabs (Prepare for Sale, Finances, Inventory, and Advertising) for managing your advertising and assets. The left side displays sales results and weather forecasts. Check the weather forecast then decide how much advertising to purchase, how many cups to make, and how much to charge. Press the Sell Lemonade button to see how you fared.
Prepare for Sale
Here you decide what quality of lemonade mix to use (Generic, Name Brand, or Premium), how many cups of lemonade to prepare, and how much to charge for each cup. Using a higher quality of lemonade will positively impact the price customers will pay and the number of cups they will purchase.
Finances
Your money is divided into working cash and a savings account. Purchases for supplies and advertising are deducted from your working cash. Profits from your lemonade sales will be added to your working cash. You can transfer money between your working cash and savings account. You will receive interest on your savings account at the end of each month. The interest is based on your average daily balance.
Inventory
Your inventory consists of lemonade mix and cups. Buying in larger quantities is more cost-effective. You can only make and sell as much lemonade as you have mix and cups. Lemonade mix comes in different levels of quality: Generic, Name Brand, and Premium. Higher quality lemonade costs more.
Advertising
Advertising helps to bring more customers to your stand. Notice that some types of advertising last multiple days while others only last for a day. Homemade signs last a variable period of time.
Weather
Weather has a significant impact on the number of customers that come to your stand and the amount that they will pay for your lemonade. You will receive a forecast for the next days weather each day. This forecast is somewhat accurate but not 100% reliable. The eight types of weather are listed below.
Sunny and Scorching: Ideal conditions.
Sunny and Hot
Sunny and Warm
Sunny
Party Sunny
Overcast
Rain
Thunderstorms: Worst conditions.
Sales Results
Here you will see the weather for the day, the number of customers who visited your stand, the number of cups you sold, and your gross and net profit. You will also learn about any random events that might impact your business.

Atomorun 1.1_pre2
Atomorun project is an OpenGL Jump&Run clone. more>>
Atomorun project is an OpenGL Jump&Run clone.
In Atomorun, the character "Atomio" has to escape from an exploding nuclear bomb. The shockwave tries to catch you, so run as fast as you can!
It uses 3D OpenGL for the graphics, while the gameplay is 2D (just jump and run as fast as you can, left to right)
Enhancements:
- Forgot to put the body in a displaylist also...
- The glasses are black again (ooops)
- It is now possible to leave the "game over"-screen with a press on ENTER
- The level is now generated randomly and a little bit larger. Makes it much more difficult :)
- Redesigned the menu.
- Some code cleanup
- Added the acid fog, from which Atomio has to run away.
- Fixed bug, where you could change the direction of Atomio in the menu.
- Sound support added. (New dependency: SDL_mixer with ogg support)
- Textures are now stored in smaller and better PNGs. (New dependency: SDL_image with png support)
- If loading a PNG (or OGG) fails, it tries to load a BMP (or WAV). See docsINSTALL.win32, why. Grrr, why do I have to make a win32 build?
- Fixed menu bug. It was possible to press Escape in the menu after playing the game.
- Its now possible to change resolution and fullscreen mode with commandline arguments. Start "atomorun -h" for more help.

cupsfax 0.4
cupsfax project contains a set of two scripts to integrate a fax server into the CUPS printing system. more>>
cupsfax project contains a set of two scripts to integrate a fax server into the CUPS printing system. To send a fax, the user prints it to the designated printer queue. He will then receive a mail with a link to a web form. In this web form, the user may enter additional parameters - most importantly, the receiving fax number.
This way, there are no additional conditions on what can be printed, like fax numbers embedded into the file or job name. This can also be fully integrated into a samba/CUPS configuration, enabling Windows clients to send arbitrary documents as fax. It also gives the full power of the CUPS print processing pipeline to sending faxes.

Querylog 0.1
Querylog is a console tool for performing SQL queries on a (log) file. more>>
Querylog project is a console tool for performing SQL queries on a (log) file.
Lines from one or more text files or stdin are matched, using regular expressions to an in memory database on which SQL queries can be performed.
You also specify queries in the config file (SELECTs, INSERTs, CREATE VIEWs, etc). Queries that generate output are printed to stdout in plain text at the moment. In the future it will be possible to specify output formatters. The tool is written in C++ using the boost program options and regex library and the sqlite libraries for the in memory database.
I first wrote this tool to extract accounting information from cups page log files (in which accounting infomation was on different lines than job information), but due to the generic nature of the tool it can be used in many situations in which specific information needs to be retrieved from (in the future multiple) text files and presented in a more usable format.
Building:
Youll need the boost headers and libraries for (program_options and regex) which you can get at http://www.boost.org/, and the sqlite3 headers and libraries which you can get at http://www.sqlite.org/.
Im using boost build, so if you have that all you have to do is run:
> bjam
Alternativly, as the program now has only a single source file, you can just use g++ to compile and link it.
Ill create a nicer build enviroment one of these days.
Running:
Options must be specified on the commandline or in a config file (key = ["]value["]). Run querylog --help for details. The input file may be ommited, in which case data will be read from stdin until the eof.
